A balanced form of Socialism - one that regulates otherwise free markets and manages a few services publicly (e.g. health, education and utilities) - wouldn't be so bad. Totalitarian Socialism would seem to be equally as ruthless and economically absurd as unfettered Fascist Corporatism...yet here we see a relatively high standard of living.
