After investigating the bicycle of what could have caused my front tire to come off, apparently the nut that holds the tire was loose and it came undone with I hit the bump ... As I said, it took me a year to ever work up the courage to ride a bicycle and I to this day wear a helmet ..

I remember when I was 14 years old ( I'm 17 now ) and I was on my bicycle and I was going VERY fast when I hit a small bump in the road, the front tire came off and I went over the handle bars and hit the pavement smack down on my face. My face skidded on the pavement about 6 feet. I was just about to start my new school a week before it happened. My whole entire face was gone and it didn't fully heal until 12 weeks. I now wear a helmet and it took me a year after that to ever ride a bicycle ..
