Great explanation of how we allow government to compromise our standards over science, and we compromise our commitment to social justice, by buying into the idea that environemntal and social costs of our (material) standard of living are inevitable. They are not. This is merely an understanding that is convenient for big business. Each of us needs to feel universal comnpassion and accept our share of responsibility. When that happens the situation will improve.
