I've owned 2 CX500's and they are the easiest bike in the world to get up on the back wheel. Too heavy? Perhaps too inexperienced would be a more appropriate statement. I also have a heavy BMW boxer replica fairing, and it still comes up. In fact, when I first got tthe bike, I nearly flipped it because it came up too easy.
Run your tank to reserve, stand on the rear pegs, start in first gear and get up to about 3k rpm, then just crack the throttle while pulling up on the bars. The front will come right off the ground. Just be careful not to have the front wheel sideways on landing, or bad things will happen.
that.... was.... EPIC!!!!
