What is the temper? Vices? Looks great on vidio,but how are they to handle in real life? Are they for pro's, or can a everyday horse person handle them? Am used to quarter horeses , and thouroughbreds. Quite a gammit , but I ike to research before I commit. Any info would be great!

My horse was a difficult one, though I tink it was because he had a hard time as colt. (5 owners in 3 years).

He was a one man horse and could be realy stressed out and hard to communicate with, but he slowly grew better. When I sold him, his new owner had to start from the beginning again.

So if you are looking for a friesian and don't want a big challenge, be sure you find one that have had a great time as colt. They are unbelievable individuals, so find the right one :)

@MsShoosh1 They're generally very smart and quick to learn, as well as gentle and sweet. How they handle will depend on how they've been raised, of course, so it's a little different with each horse. They can be energetic, but if you're used to Thoroughbreds it shouldn't be a problem at all. Friesians are great horses :)

Lancelot, thats not a official friesian horse name right? I live in Friesland. And here are official friesian names: Hyke, Wietske, Jesse etc. It's the friesian talk haha

I love how long his body is... you can almost visibily see his butt catch up to his front end as he turns! Reminds me of my mare, but she doesn't look near as pretty, she's more like a bus!

First i need to read up some more *has read alot already but wants to know more about horses and how to take care of them and all* it will be my first time owning a horse. :3.

Poor guy was bursting at the seams! I assume the shaved spot is where he was injured. Looks really good! No doubt there was hardly any visible scar when his coat grew back. :)

OMG reminds me of a week ago when I turned my horse out with the herd after being on stall rest. She is also a Friesian to. She went crazy was so happy to run, I LOVE your guy!!!

Har jobbat som fasen med honom i tre år och fått komma fram till att han aldrig kommer att fungera som det. Jag har valt att läman över honom till en annan som inte behöver ställa samma krav på hästens psyke som jag. Har en nykomling i stallet nu, Quatren. Helt fantastisk häst :D

I don't realy know,,, He got many abscess' under one of his throatmuscles. They needed to operate him three times before they where gone. Hard time for us both, 2 months in boxarrest..

When my stallion (a Friesian X) got injured playing in the pasture I had to keep him up for several months...It was right at the time he was learning he was a stallion and I was going to start riding him. It was tough. I can empathize.

Abcesses in the throught is weird...Sounds like a strep infection. Hopefully you're both in the clear now of any more injuries

An abscess under one of his throatmuscles. Probably comming from a bad vaccination. You can see that he has a big shaved area on his right side. I am very happy that the operation did not affect his beautful movements, and if you don't know what to look for today, you can't see that he misses a bit of one of his neck muscles.
