lol acuse Visual Studio 2010 is using VB.NET and not VB6 xD they are way different :D try search for VB.NET tutorials

Here is a tip, if u goto yoyogames and download game maker, you will be able to make games a lot easier, game maker isnt a free engine, but you can always fund things like cracks or keygens

Dude this tutorial has the same problem, that all same tutorials of movement input have. IMAGINE an RPG where you press left, the character does a slight step and after half a second he starts moving! I really wanna see how you'll overcome this problem (there are a few ways).Good luck finding at least one. Won't tell ya, its easy to figure it out if you are really programmming and if you don't just copy paste things.

everytime you change the direction the ball is stopping for i half second, you can get rid of that effect very easy:

create 4 Booleans(for example: moveup, Movedown, Moveleft, MoveRight)

then make a select case state on keydown:

here are 4 cases: vbKEyup, vbKeyDown, ....Right and left.

and if you press one o these, the boolean changes to true.

make the same for keyup, but this time, that the booleans become false.

and then make if states in the timer

if one of the booleans is true, move shape

Hello i got a question, i got Visual basic 6.0 i think both this version exact you have, but anyway i use the professional version, and then i downloaded the DirectX SDK, because im following the book visual basic game programming for teens, to make a rpg game, then he say to me after making a Standard EXE application to go under project files -> references, and choose DirectX 8 for visual basic type library, but i cant find it :S what am i doing wrong?
