I have just this year discovered 'Obscured By Clouds'. It is really quite an unappreciated album. Early '70s Floyd is my favorite era of theirs for sure. So much amazing material!
I like it. Where's the "Like it" button? Isn't there a "Like It" button? I think I saw it...somewhere...I know it's gotta be here, around here...but...oh! There it is. I found it.
@Contrapunctus1 "Raga"-I have never heard of the term, thank you. I have often felt a sort of intuitive Native American feel in some of their music for some reason. Yeah, Richard's long keyboard sounds have a feel like the music I've heard from India.
once someone asked me that if i had to choice only two groups of all the rock groups i liked very much who would be.difficult to respond but i said pink floyd and led zeppelin
Back in 1987, when I was 16, I had 100 Pink Floyd vinyl Bootlegs courtesy of Neals Records in Glendale. A HERO!!! - Spent time and time again in jail for this, poor Neal, God bless his soul. Pasadena swap meet in the late eighties, early nineties. I would have KILLED for this kind of quality in Obscured recordings from 1973. Times sure have changed. THANK YOU!!!
just tell me how the fuck did you get your hands on this piece of pure awesomeness??? I keep looking for rare bootlegs everywhere but I can't find what i want! And then you come along and post the title track of my favorite Floyd album! What the f***?
Yes,because during the end of 70s,and specially during 80s, when the market of bootlegs was at its peak, vinyl was the default format for music, even the illegal one! I collected Pink Floyd bootlegs for years, mostly covering 1966/1974 period, and I should still have more than 150 different bootlegs on vinyls of the Floyd of that era!
ha i know vinyl was the primary format but I was just wondering where you'd buy them...I mean someone in the audience recorded a concert, then pressed it on vinyl somewhere under a weird label name like "pinkpigrecords" and then sell it somewhere but where would they sell those things?
the openair markets out of concerts arenas were a primarly place to sell vinyl bootlegs, and also private mailing lists, records collectors messes or places like these!
oh ok that makes sense. well i guess nowadays ebay could do a great deal, just yesterday i won an auction and got a copy of Pink Floyd's Best Of Tour 72 on vinyl!

Because I like saying "Pink Floyd wrote 'Dogs'" on every Pink Floyd video I see, and I didn't grow up in a string quartet, so that may be one of the reasons.
