This is a western centered view of history and of the world. What applies to Europe or the West doesn't necessarily applies to the rest of the world. Turkish first !!! Muslim, Christian, Atheist or whatever is a personal choice and government, army, shool and university is to remain neutral. The Ottoman empire is fallen and was attacked (even by the Arabs, remember!!!???). Atatürk and his brave fellow Turks saved the country from foreign occupation and disentigration such as what happened with the rest of middle east. Without Atatürk , Turkey today would not exist since the last Sultans were weak rulers.
Do they really teach you and brain wash you with this kind false history in Turkish schools? Poor poor kid. The enemy is the waste and they had you really chewing your stomach inside out.
First it was Attaturk who was train by the Europeans to destroy the caliphate. Then Attaturk had to abolish Sharia in Turkey for Europe to support him. The Attaturk you praise that he help your country is the one who destroyed your country.You can only see that if you have intellect.
I think if turkey will not go back to Islam , than London will be the next Islam's head quater in europe . Its my prediction. people living in England can also differentiate this as Islam is becoming good practice religion in England day by day.
The separation of mosque and state- is to keep the mosque from influencing the state. You're like one of those goons who says "by protecting the freedom of others to not be beaten for being black, you're OPPRESSING me by not allowing me to beat them".
the Turkish were the ones to send the humanatarian aid ship to Gaza and risked their lives doing so. And on the ship they included people from different nations.
@terajasoos Brthr dont use this type of Language which you have learn from your ancestors or may be you saw your elders doing this.Keep in mind that Inshaallah we will succeed in our Mission.No need any reply from you after using this language we will talk to you in the language of swords.
"after using this language we will talk to you in the language of swords"
Because you're too intellectually feeble to deal with it without violence. This is the problem with Muslims (Americans too are in a similar way)- they respond with violence at trivial matters.
"if you cant talk with us in respectable manner"
Hello, if you can't talk to me with a respectable manner I will speak with a gun- you're a joker. Piss off you're the very proof that Islam is not a religion of peace.
@terajasoos Brthr dont use this type of Language.Inshaallah we will succeed in our Mission.No need any reply from you after using this language we will talk to you in the language of swords if you cant talk with us in respectable manner.
@terajasoos What you will do see the Turkey third Muslim supporting party wins and Inshaallah they will able to amend Turkish Constitution and then i will show you how the swords will speak people like u.Gali dainay say kuch nahi hota but u in fact giving it to your own family.
"its not necessarily to be naked in order to develop or to ban hijab to impove your country"
What is it with the Muslim obsession with people being naked? What is wrong with your head, too often have I come across Muslims who talk about how in the west women are naked, and how in a FEW countries that the NIQAB- the VEIL is banned. Islam, or any other religion, acts as a mental retardant- and your behaviour indicates just that.
turkye is getting stronger and better in every aspect you just watch out it is happening whether we are in eu or not we are groving like no other state in europe having say taht we dont meaN WE ARE IN EUROPE but we mean we are going tobe a good rival to europe!!!
Muslim don't care what all this infidels & hypocrite says... Just go ahead in the name of ALLAH.... Hypocrite & Infidels will always try to change Islam.
please dont give me that trash, ur playing by their rules and on their terrain if u adopt those ideas and actualy think they are REAL.
-
think about it, look at every "country" (as they like to call it) around u today, do they have any standing at all? NO!. . . . . why? because they have all been beaten by adopting this way of thinking.
-
dont become another slave to the west and have your heritage used as toilet paper. remember who u are!
last time i checked, turkey is what it is today because of islam, i hear you people go on again and again ottoman ottoman ottoman blah blah blah.
where did that come from?
-
are you going to give up everything your people have ever worked and fought for and simply become a slave to the system that has taken over the rest of the world? take a look around you, and you will see that turkey in some time will also be split (again) into smaller & more manageable chunks for the west to eat off.
Look, we turks had heard enough of europeans/western world's "anti-turkey" propagandas. Every time when our country got/getting stronger , the europeans/western countries came with bullshit like: ISLAM IS TAKIN OVER! " The funny thing is, Islam is not getting over, democracy is getting over ;) ya heard? Turkey's past from the 30's (after Ataturk's death) to 2002 was full with fascism and rascism. There were so many bans. Erdogan became 2003 our leader, he brought back democracy and freedom!
turkey a democarcy ha yeah rıght. turkey ıs at the bottom of journalıstıc freedom, they have trıed to sentence a woman to death for organızıng a protest for the rıght to waer hıjab and another woman to two years ın prıson for refusıng to take off her hıjab ın school later she was beaten by polıce and had to flee the country.turkey ıs a kemalıst country that has keptthe country backwards only when turkey has begun to go back to ıts ıslamıc roots has the country become stronger .
@easternshock Banning the wearing of Hijab in various public institutions - this is anti-Islamism, not secularism. When a regime represses or literally tortures the adherents for their religious belief, it becomes "anti" to it. Turkey is free? - People in Turkey do NOT seem to be "free" to practice Islam. I have seen women getting beaten up to the knees for their mere observance of a religious belief. Freedom? What an irony!
Let alone secularism, this turkish regime is outright ANTI-ISLAMIC!
@ytubeact123 It's a very moderate anti-islamic front. Our mission is not to destroy islam, it's to maintain it. We don't want our women to to become inferior to men by having to cover their hair. (and if you don't want to see women's hair then you must be gay because women are beautiful), We don't want religous regimes to obtain power ever again because it is dangerous for our people, that is why we are so serious about secularism. All this is done to keep shariah away.
@ytubeact123 lol, this arguement is cracking me up. Yes, it IS anti-islamic, but only because Islam is in OUR territory. We are only trying to liberate our people from these types of superstitions... Just look at the barbarism present in Iran today, where women are not free to walk the streets without permission from men. We are only trying to prevent that. There are no laws saying that you cannot be a religous nut at home. Our main goal, is to keep these people away from the voting ballots.
@easternshock You seem to quite emphatically imply that Islam is nothing but a mere work of fiction (superstition as you may word). Pretty obvious, you are quite the subscriber to atheism. So, atheism - is it the majority belief in your country?
@ytubeact123 Well, yes I am an atheist, however I was born into a muslim family and I still have many muslim friends which I get along very well with. And I am Turkish but I live in America, as a student. Here in America there are many atheists, especially in Florida, but most people still believe in god however they are secular. I have many muslim friends who eat pork for example. Also, I cannot attack people for believing in a religion, all I want is for them to be open-minded and secular.
3. Muslims (humans) may become weak in practice, but the divine system of Islam is never-changing. Al-Quran is from The God of the universe. In it there is no error. So, there will be to it protection from corruption. Had Islam gone through the same "remaking" as other religions (for modern secular conformity), it would have been just as false as those man-made religions. So my dear atheist secularist friend, try with no avail. Islam will never fall. It will rise.
@ytubeact123 Clearly you are a muslim, because you refer to allah as "truth"... this is your OPINION, not a proven fact. Please do not try to use your own unproven beliefs as "facts" in this arguement. In our party, we truly respect our fellow christians for this very reason: They are adaptable to change, and support secularism, as it is the only system that has allowed christians to live equally with muslims in a muslim country. yes, today islam is growing, but we will try to stop this growth.
2. Muslims are muslims, because they refuse to live under that superficial delusional understanding of their religion like Christians. As I told you, if we did the same as them, we would be just as false as them in our belief.
@ytubeact123 Ok, so this is your oppinion. Where are you from? Clearly not Turkish since you are speaking english. Headscarves in Turkey are different from those in arab countries. They quickly become political symbols of aggresion against the country's dearest principle (secularism). A ban on these head coverings is in effect to keep the peace between those who believe and those who are independent from relgious institutions. (btw, muslim women also have the option to go to an islamic school).
Who do you expect on the differing side? Another atheist?
-> They are adaptable to change, and support secularism
This is the same reason why they are an "army under willful delusion". For, what is subject to "integral change by men" has lost its divinity the very moment. You either believe in God as exactly presented by your religion, or you don't. There is no in between.
@ytubeact123 Look, we don't care if you believe in allah, UFO's or the genie inside the magic lamp. In our motherland, Turkiye, we want people that are open-minded, not restricted to believing in everything inside the qoran. This is why islam is dangerous, it seems to become radical and extreme fairly easily. We would rather have our gov. run by a parliament full of men who use science in all of their decisions rather than a muslim group making interpretations of their book. In between is good.
@easternshock 4. The west has transformed into essentially an almost entirely secular (very closely atheistic) society with highly superficial, trivial and mutated religious doctrine in peoples mindset, which we muslims refuse to embrace for the mere reason that it simply means "falsifying the divine".
@ytubeact123 Whether or not christianity, judaism or islam are true religions does not matter at all. What is important is that in secular countries such as France and Turkey, you are free to believe in any religion you want, even hinduism, as long as you do not cause damage to society. You can do whatever you want in your own home. But in Iran, you cannot be hindu, you cannot be gay/lesbian. In saudi arabia you could be lynched for being an atheist. Freedom in secularism, no freedom in the east
lol seriously?!! :D :D Can you be a muslim in a secular country which prevents hijab and some countries prevent FASTING!!that's funny!!PS:I think mustafa kemal closed some mosques and damaged the Islamic education is that freedom?!!While in Islamic countries(over the course of history)and even now in Egypt for example Christians are allowed to wear their crosses and to build churches and do whatever they want!!Muslims never forced hindu or whatever to become muslims!
@omarmafia234 This is not true, the muslims had massacred Hindus in India, and christian children were kidnapped by Ottoman muslims and forced to become soldiers. There is no ban on fasting in Turkey. Mustafa Kemal converted mosques into neccesary places such as storages and housing units because it was a time of war and neccesary. Women in secular countries like France have higher status than men while in shariah countries like Iran, women are worth less than 20$. Secularism is needed in Turkey
Read history my friend :) For example Ottomans never kidnapped children!!If you are talking about Jannisaries then I would like to inform you it was made from ORPHANS and new muslims children CHRISTIAN CHILDREN WAS NEVER KIDNAPPED!!That's just a lie and btw could you please read about Umar Ibn El Khattab,Saladin and all those muslim leaders and see how tolerant they were!!Btw who the hell told you that in Islam women are worthless!!
@omarmafia234 You are saying that christian children were NEVER kidnapped, this is wrong because kidnapping was done very extensively. My Great-grandfather was Russian from Caucasia and he was kidnapped by turks, that's how I am turkish also. If you look at countries like Iran, bahrain, UAE, egypt, saudi arabia, etc you will see that women are second class citizens. Also, it's not bad to be semi naked. It's not even considered semi naked if your hair is showing. hair is a human feature.
Apart from your grandfather stuff cause you can read history about "kidnapping" about look at arab countries well FYI I'm an EGYPTIAN!!And No way women are second class citizens!!They have all their rights!!What is your point of view about "2nd class citizens?"
I didn't say that your hair showing is considered semi naked I'm talking about other women who go out semi-naked and you have no problem with that :) PS:Hijab isn't just a "head scarf"
@omarmafia234 The history of Islam as well as most other religions is a very bloody one, with great destruction done to mankind, because unfortunatly people mis-understand the purpose of religion and think that god will support you if you try to purge the world of other faiths. Maybe not in Egypt but most other arab countries women are in danger if they do not cover themselves. Why is it bad to be semi-naked? Nudism is natural. God gave you balls to use :)
btw if women have higher status than men then this is male inferiority !!Seriously do you think that to give a woman her rights then you should give her HIGHER STATUS instead of equal ones!!
PS:I don't think preventing women from wearing hijab and putting the social beliefs about making women go out "semi naked" and using them on magazing covers is giving women value at all!!
@omarmafia234 Also, The kuran doesn't say to cover your hair, it's just an arab thing that we are trying to keep out of Turkey. So, women should cover their hair for sexual reasons. Why don't you? There are gay men that stare down other men with the same lust as you do to women. So, you should wear a hat at all times. Also, I dont understand how muslim men can even support hairscarfs. Do you not enjoy seeing beautiful women? Why don't you want to see their hair? 1 word, homosexuality.
FYI Muslim men have to cover their body from the belly button to their knees!!So muslim men do cover too!!Btw A man can be BALD but still be handsome but there is no way I'm going to marry a "bald" woman!! :D It's not the same my friend :)
And what the hell is homosexual about it Muslim men didn't invent "hijab" it's our god who ordered muslim women to do!!Plus a woman can still look beautiful in hijab the problem is that women going out showing off her body is
1st disrespecting herself 2nd Don't you think this will increase "adultery" and "rape" crimes!!btw hijab is covering the whole body except the face and hands :) So it isn't just about headscarf!and answering your question of course my god ordered me not to look on a woman's body(who isn't my wife) plus It's disrespectful to women to force them not to cover their body and their hair just for my OWN PLEASURE!! She has the right either to wear hijab or not!!
In my country for example We don't force women to wear hijab she has the right to do what she want because it's Allah who is going to judge her not US!!
@omarmafia234 Also, why is it bad to look at women? I have a muslim friend who won't even touch his girlfriend, but why? Life should be a huge sex party, im sure allah wont mind. Making sex with another person is a great way to promote love, as long as its done with mutual desire. Also, I heard that the kuran doesnt order women to cover their hair, it is just an arab cultural thing, which we are trying to keep out of Turkey because we are tolerant only of Anatolian cultures. Glory to Motherland!
@easternshock 3. The previous post was made in reference to your comment about the easiness on the part of western christians with secularism as opposed to muslims. The purpose was to correct you from the mistake of placing Islam on the same level as other religions. Also, the naive notion that the west is representative of "Christianity" in particular.
@ytubeact123 The west is judeo-christian in majority, yes I agree with this however remember that the secular founders of Turkey tried to create and succesfully created the first secular muslim country. A great step forward for all the people of the east! The founders civilized turkey from greek-boundry to armenian boundry. Destruction of superstitions led to great advances in turkish people's living standards and the country's infrastructure overall. You are assuming that islam is correct.
@ytubeact123 MY knowledge of Islam isn't scant, Pls remember that I grew up in a muslim society. Why is it rediculous? The ban has kept peace in Turkey for tens of years, untill the current gov. brought back the issue and tried to legalize turbans. This, in turn caused a negative effect upon the population splitting them into 2 factions, seculars and the religous, whoch ALMOST started a civil war 3 years ago in 2007. Countless people have been beaten and/or killed over this issue.
@easternshock 1. -> Look, we don't care if you believe in allah, UFO's or the genie inside the magic lamp.
I am not surprised to see you speak in the very familiar atheistic tone. Btw, who are you referring to when you repeatedly use the plural particle "we"? Are you (atheist) really representative of the majority belief in Turkey? You should really detach yourself from the plural "we".
-> Ok, so this is your oppinion.
If headscarf is someones opinion, why should you (atheist) bother?
@ytubeact123 When I say we, I am refering to the leftist parties of Turkey, who in total make up about 30% of Turkey's population. These are the parties allied in struggle against shariah, and in opposition to headscarves, which we see as a symbol of female inferiority to men. Also, yes I care, I bother because I live in Turkey, and the turban is symbolic of fundementalism, which means death for the people of Turkey. The other 70% who are right-wingers are uneducated sheperds that live on hills
Female inferiority!!Seriously what is that?!!how could be women wearing hijab by their own will being inferiority while women showing off their bodies and going out nearly naked like prostitutes(sorry for the harsh word) is good!!I believe making the "social belief" that women to be "hot" has to show her body that's inferiority!!Hijab give women in my opinion much higher value! !
2. Today, they have come so far as to even dismissively reconstrue their entire holy scripture as "practically trivial symbolic poetry that does not need to be understood literally". So, these fragile religions have no problem blending in with any secular needs. The Quran is the ONLY sacred book on the face of the earth that has textually and doctrinally interpretatively been the same as it had been centuries ago. Islam is anti-reform. That is why it is in direct clash with secularism.
@easternshock 1. There is a fine line between Islam and other wordly religions. You are simply ignorant if you don't perceive this. Other religions (especially Christianity in the west) have revolutionarily reformed themselves in conformity with secular understanding. Christians (I assume these are the people you referred to as "The God believing around you") adopted this tendency to alter their fundamental scriptural understandings and tenets in alignment with secular world.
@nagamora Clearly you are NOT Turkish and are ignorant to the politics of Turkey... so just leave because you really don't know what you are saying. Do some research and consider coming back with more evidence and facts.
@nagamora we will never give up on our Turkish muslim brothers n sisters oppressed n forced to uncover n excluded from universities ... and we believe that this opression is gonna stop inshallah because the power of IMAN faith in Allah the almighty swt is stronger than ur secular army n the zionist entites supporting it , there has been alot of sacrifices n there will be more until islam prevails in Turkey the heart of the blessed glorious islamic empire .islam rules
You can NOT have religion upon your politics. No one said seculars hate islam. The Whole Point Of Atatürks vision was so that we could think freely! and stand up for our selves in the future. a country cannot think when it is suffocated by such Islamic views. Do you want turkey to be like saudia Arabia? No! you can practice your religion but at the mosque or at home, dont spread your thoughts to others, you cant be so selfish and stupid
@xxTurquiaxx Shariah is a Violation to human rights!Secularism is a method to hold radical islamic groups away from turkish democracy,because as we know democracy and shariah are the opposite to eachother.
@BlackseaTurkk:Can you tell me whay are they opposite to each other?In Islam we don't have the "divine rule" every one is equal even the Khalifa if he does something wrong he could be easily removed and as the qur'an said in Surat Al Shura aya number 38 and surat Aly Emran aya number 159 so the khalifa have to ask others for their opinions and not be a dictator
@BlackseaTurkk : you can read about Sayedna Umar Ibn Al Khattab when he wanted to put a law for marriage and a woman told him that the Allah refuses so and told him an aya in the Qur'an and he didn't apply that law and many other example
for example most known Turkish word is coffee, which comes from Turkish word kahve. The is no need a migration, if you rule the world you will change others culture, as Americans changed the culture of Japans.
Turkey's secularism is not the factor that caused economic prosperity. The thing is that Turkey as an Islamic state could not mingle in the materialistic opportunities offered by western capitalism. This is because the West was, is and will always be uncomfortable with Islam because they do not like it for their own reasons. Turkey had to give up its values to embrace the prosperity offered by Western capitalism. Turkey even changed its language believing it was needed to be modern. Silly.
@nofreedom4racists Turkey did not change its language, Turkey changed its alphabet, which is a Latin Alphabet. Many countries use that alphabet, so many countries adopted that alphabet at some stage in their history. Turkey also does not lose its values for the West. We are adopting modern values as other Western Countries do. Every country is adding values to the Humanity and other countries adopting it. Americans/English people adopted a lot of German culture, or Italian culture.
@norelojon So we are doing the same thing, we are just a little bit late. :) This religious problems did not start 100 years ago, even in the late Ottomans we had the same problems.
@norelojon you are right that adopted bits of European languages. That happened because people from different European countries came to Britain and bought with them their culture which eventually influenced the language. Turkey never had Europeans migrate to its territory or import different cultures. You will notice that Italians spoke the same language since whenever. Russia has been Cryllic since history.
@nofreedom4racists Again we have not changed our language, we have changed our Alphabet not language. If you mean that we have some foreign words in our language, (like kontrol in turkish, control in english) that's also how languages build. When the Roman Empire was in charge they have influenced many cultures and still many countries use that words.
@nofreedom4racists Ottomans also influenced many countries and many countries have Turkish words in their language, and now Americans rule the world and that's why many cultures have english words, even Germans, French etc. in English also you can find a lot of French words. That's depended on who rule the world, but Turkish language is not changed intentionally, never.
@norelojon There are nations that had the same language since they existed and are still prospering on a global scale. I can do alot of things and live like a king if i give up alot of aspects of my culture and identity. Does it mean I do it? Ofcourse no because i have a responsibility towards the character I am destined to be. I think Turkey should and can be modern by its own identity and culture, It does not need to adopt "Western values".
@nofreedom4racists the world is changing, so the cultures, it is inevitable. You can not show any language that has not changed even in the last 1000 years. You said Italian language, on the internet there are a lot of source that explains how the Italian language has changed. Arabic language has changed a lot. This is not our area, it is area of the linguistic experts, but every language is changing, it is a living form, and you can keep your identity while adopting modern values.
their biggest achivement will be tht if someone get over the daughter of president of turkey he wont be punished.they will soon fall as they are going against the rule of their creater.and they will notice it very soon.
i m so unhappy about turkey cuz they r selling their religion to europe.they fear tht their relation might become bad with europe if they follow islam which the european countries doesnt want.they should fear Allah(God) and stop going on the wrong way.
So true I really don't know what has happened to Turks they defended Islam for centuries and ruled the WORLD with Shariaa even France was vassal and now They refuse it and hate Islam!!!What is that?!!
@Sneaker1993 Senin mason dedigin adamlar olmasaydi, bugun Filistinliler gibi kamplarda yasardin. Ingiliz ve Fransiz somurgesi olurdun. Diger musluman ulkeleri parmagini kaldirmazdi sana yardim etmeye, zaten Arabin kendisine hayiri yok.
@omarmafia234 Islam is just a rleigion like all others too.religion is your private Realtionship to God,you can't rule a country with your religious views,because not everyone in a Muslim country is religious.
@BlackseaTurkk:And not every one is a communist but you can have a communist government and not everyone is a secular but you can have a secular government right?!!Islam Shariaa isn't applied in non-muslims countries but only in muslims countries(when muslims are majority)I mean logically when a country has an islamic majority and they believe that the Shariaa is best for them so would you not allow them to have an islamic government so that 5% of population won't be happy!!
@BlackseaTurkk:that way if a communist government won by majority of 95% you would refuse the government because 5% refuses it?!!seriously is that even logical?Btw in the personal matters of non-muslims islamic shariaa isn't applied for example in marriage,divorcing,Inheritace,etc
@omarmafia234 They have aligne with the west and have left islam. Why else do you think they have recognised the arab killing state of israel? They are currupted.
no no no,we're still muslims.(%98 of country is registered as muslim,but maybe little of them might be lying about that)but because of some people that have power,we're restricted.our ruling party is trying to change it and cleaning government from evil people.we're still this turks that can die for İslam.whatever you see on tv please don't believe.
we are so used to secularism in turkey even the most religious person would not want to live under islamic rules so eveyone shud stop putting Turkiye in east or west becuz we are unique we have freedom the most important thing everyone is seeking and we are thankful to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk for tht !!
I would not want to be ataturk on judgement day. The turkish people should rise for ISLAM!!! Could you imagine if all clergy in the US were payed by the gov. This is not SEPERATION of religion and gov. it CONTROL of religion by the GOV.
@at8933 Turkey is not the US and another thing shouldn't you be concerned about your own soul on Judgment Day instead of Atatürk? It is Allah who will judge him.

there are contradictions in this report:
1. religion and state separated
2. mosques are regulated by state
how can that be possible! In today's science knowledge confirms that a being cannot be at two places at the same time!
aibn123 6 months ago
@aibn123
The separation of mosque and state- is to keep the mosque from influencing the state. You're like one of those goons who says "by protecting the freedom of others to not be beaten for being black, you're OPPRESSING me by not allowing me to beat them".

easternshock 1 year ago 3
@easternshock Banning the wearing of Hijab in various public institutions - this is anti-Islamism, not secularism. When a regime represses or literally tortures the adherents for their religious belief, it becomes "anti" to it. Turkey is free? - People in Turkey do NOT seem to be "free" to practice Islam. I have seen women getting beaten up to the knees for their mere observance of a religious belief. Freedom? What an irony!
Let alone secularism, this turkish regime is outright ANTI-ISLAMIC!
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 It's a very moderate anti-islamic front. Our mission is not to destroy islam, it's to maintain it. We don't want our women to to become inferior to men by having to cover their hair. (and if you don't want to see women's hair then you must be gay because women are beautiful), We don't want religous regimes to obtain power ever again because it is dangerous for our people, that is why we are so serious about secularism. All this is done to keep shariah away.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock ->and if you don't want to see women's hair then you must be gay because women are beautiful.
This was an awfully idiotic and ridiculously fallacious statement.
->Our mission is not to destroy islam, it's to maintain it.
What a blatant delusion!
-> It's a very moderate anti-islamic front.
So, easternshock, you do agree you are anti-Islamic (i.e. hostile to Islam).
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 lol, this arguement is cracking me up. Yes, it IS anti-islamic, but only because Islam is in OUR territory. We are only trying to liberate our people from these types of superstitions... Just look at the barbarism present in Iran today, where women are not free to walk the streets without permission from men. We are only trying to prevent that. There are no laws saying that you cannot be a religous nut at home. Our main goal, is to keep these people away from the voting ballots.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock You seem to quite emphatically imply that Islam is nothing but a mere work of fiction (superstition as you may word). Pretty obvious, you are quite the subscriber to atheism. So, atheism - is it the majority belief in your country?
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 Well, yes I am an atheist, however I was born into a muslim family and I still have many muslim friends which I get along very well with. And I am Turkish but I live in America, as a student. Here in America there are many atheists, especially in Florida, but most people still believe in god however they are secular. I have many muslim friends who eat pork for example. Also, I cannot attack people for believing in a religion, all I want is for them to be open-minded and secular.
easternshock 1 year ago
It will rise.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 Clearly you are a muslim, because you refer to allah as "truth"... this is your OPINION, not a proven fact. Please do not try to use your own unproven beliefs as "facts" in this arguement. In our party, we truly respect our fellow christians for this very reason: They are adaptable to change, and support secularism, as it is the only system that has allowed christians to live equally with muslims in a muslim country. yes, today islam is growing, but we will try to stop this growth.
easternshock 1 year ago
2. Muslims are muslims, because they refuse to live under that superficial delusional understanding of their religion like Christians. As I told you, if we did the same as them, we would be just as false as them in our belief.
-> this is your OPINION
Sure, and we will always go by it.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 Ok, so this is your oppinion. Where are you from? Clearly not Turkish since you are speaking english. Headscarves in Turkey are different from those in arab countries. They quickly become political symbols of aggresion against the country's dearest principle (secularism). A ban on these head coverings is in effect to keep the peace between those who believe and those who are independent from relgious institutions. (btw, muslim women also have the option to go to an islamic school).
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock
1. -> Clearly you are a muslim
There is no in between.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 Look, we don't care if you believe in allah, UFO's or the genie inside the magic lamp. In our motherland, Turkiye, we want people that are open-minded, not restricted to believing in everything inside the qoran. This is why islam is dangerous, it seems to become radical and extreme fairly easily. We would rather have our gov. run by a parliament full of men who use science in all of their decisions rather than a muslim group making interpretations of their book. In between is good.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock 4. The west has transformed into essentially an almost entirely secular (very closely atheistic) society with highly superficial, trivial and mutated religious doctrine in peoples mindset, which we muslims refuse to embrace for the mere reason that it simply means "falsifying the divine".
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 Whether or not christianity, judaism or islam are true religions does not matter at all. What is important is that in secular countries such as France and Turkey, you are free to believe in any religion you want, even hinduism, as long as you do not cause damage to society. You can do whatever you want in your own home. But in Iran, you cannot be hindu, you cannot be gay/lesbian. In saudi arabia you could be lynched for being an atheist. Freedom in secularism, no freedom in the east
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock:
lol seriously?!! :D :D Can you be a muslim in a secular country which prevents hijab and some countries prevent FASTING!!that's funny!!PS:I think mustafa kemal closed some mosques and damaged the Islamic education is that freedom?!!While in Islamic countries(over the course of history)and even now in Egypt for example Christians are allowed to wear their crosses and to build churches and do whatever they want!!Muslims never forced hindu or whatever to become muslims!
omarmafia234 1 year ago
@omarmafia234 This is not true, the muslims had massacred Hindus in India, and christian children were kidnapped by Ottoman muslims and forced to become soldiers. There is no ban on fasting in Turkey. Mustafa Kemal converted mosques into neccesary places such as storages and housing units because it was a time of war and neccesary. Women in secular countries like France have higher status than men while in shariah countries like Iran, women are worth less than 20$. Secularism is needed in Turkey
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock :
Read history my friend :) For example Ottomans never kidnapped children!!If you are talking about Jannisaries then I would like to inform you it was made from ORPHANS and new muslims children CHRISTIAN CHILDREN WAS NEVER KIDNAPPED!!That's just a lie and btw could you please read about Umar Ibn El Khattab,Saladin and all those muslim leaders and see how tolerant they were!!Btw who the hell told you that in Islam women are worthless!!
omarmafia234 1 year ago
@omarmafia234 You are saying that christian children were NEVER kidnapped, this is wrong because kidnapping was done very extensively. My Great-grandfather was Russian from Caucasia and he was kidnapped by turks, that's how I am turkish also. If you look at countries like Iran, bahrain, UAE, egypt, saudi arabia, etc you will see that women are second class citizens. Also, it's not bad to be semi naked. It's not even considered semi naked if your hair is showing. hair is a human feature.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock :
Apart from your grandfather stuff cause you can read history about "kidnapping" about look at arab countries well FYI I'm an EGYPTIAN!!And No way women are second class citizens!!They have all their rights!!What is your point of view about "2nd class citizens?"
I didn't say that your hair showing is considered semi naked I'm talking about other women who go out semi-naked and you have no problem with that :) PS:Hijab isn't just a "head scarf"
omarmafia234 1 year ago
@omarmafia234 The history of Islam as well as most other religions is a very bloody one, with great destruction done to mankind, because unfortunatly people mis-understand the purpose of religion and think that god will support you if you try to purge the world of other faiths. Maybe not in Egypt but most other arab countries women are in danger if they do not cover themselves. Why is it bad to be semi-naked? Nudism is natural. God gave you balls to use :)
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock :
btw if women have higher status than men then this is male inferiority !!Seriously do you think that to give a woman her rights then you should give her HIGHER STATUS instead of equal ones!!
PS:I don't think preventing women from wearing hijab and putting the social beliefs about making women go out "semi naked" and using them on magazing covers is giving women value at all!!
omarmafia234 1 year ago
@omarmafia234 Also, The kuran doesn't say to cover your hair, it's just an arab thing that we are trying to keep out of Turkey. So, women should cover their hair for sexual reasons. Why don't you? There are gay men that stare down other men with the same lust as you do to women. So, you should wear a hat at all times. Also, I dont understand how muslim men can even support hairscarfs. Do you not enjoy seeing beautiful women? Why don't you want to see their hair? 1 word, homosexuality.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock :

Also, I heard that the kuran doesnt order women to cover their hair, it is just an arab cultural thing, which we are trying to keep out of Turkey because we are tolerant only of Anatolian cultures. @easternshock 3. The previous post was made in reference to your comment about the easiness on the part of western christians with secularism as opposed to muslims. The purpose was to correct you from the mistake of placing Islam on the same level as other religions. Also, the naive notion that the west is representative of "Christianity" in particular.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 The west is judeo-christian in majority, yes I agree with this however remember that the secular founders of Turkey tried to create and succesfully created the first secular muslim country. A great step forward for all the people of the east! The founders civilized turkey from greek-boundry to armenian boundry. Destruction of superstitions led to great advances in turkish people's living standards and the country's infrastructure overall. You are assuming that islam is correct.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock 2. -> Headscarves in Turkey are different from those in arab countries.
You would really not want to talk about this with your scant knowledge of Islam.

I find this quite ridiculous.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 MY knowledge of Islam isn't scant, Pls remember that I grew up in a muslim society. Why is it rediculous? The ban has kept peace in Turkey for tens of years, untill the current gov. brought back the issue and tried to legalize turbans. This, in turn caused a negative effect upon the population splitting them into 2 factions, seculars and the religous, whoch ALMOST started a civil war 3 years ago in 2007. Countless people have been beaten and/or killed over this issue.
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock 1. -> Look, we don't care if you believe in allah, UFO's or the genie inside the magic lamp.
I am not surprised to see you speak in the very familiar atheistic tone. Btw, who are you referring to when you repeatedly use the plural particle "we"? Are you (atheist) really representative of the majority belief in Turkey? You should really detach yourself from the plural "we".
-> Ok, so this is your oppinion.
If headscarf is someones opinion, why should you (atheist) bother?
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@ytubeact123 When I say we, I am refering to the leftist parties of Turkey, who in total make up about 30% of Turkey's population. These are the parties allied in struggle against shariah, and in opposition to headscarves, which we see as a symbol of female inferiority to men. Also, yes I care, I bother because I live in Turkey, and the turban is symbolic of fundementalism, which means death for the people of Turkey. The other 70% who are right-wingers are uneducated sheperds that live on hills
easternshock 1 year ago
@easternshock
omarmafia234 1 year ago
That is why it is in direct clash with secularism.
ytubeact123 1 year ago
@easternshock 1. There is a fine line between Islam and other wordly religions. You are simply ignorant if you don't perceive this. Other religions (especially Christianity in the west) have revolutionarily reformed themselves in conformity with secular understanding. Christians (I assume these are the people you referred to as "The God believing around you") adopted this tendency to alter their fundamental scriptural understandings and tenets in alignment with secular world.

norelojon 1 year ago
Turkey's secularism is not the factor that caused economic prosperity. The thing is that Turkey as an Islamic state could not mingle in the materialistic opportunities offered by western capitalism. This is because the West was, is and will always be uncomfortable with Islam because they do not like it for their own reasons. Turkey had to give up its values to embrace the prosperity offered by Western capitalism. Turkey even changed its language believing it was needed to be modern. Silly.
nofreedom4racists 1 year ago
@nofreedom4racists Turkey did not change its language, Turkey changed its alphabet, which is a Latin Alphabet. Many countries use that alphabet, so many countries adopted that alphabet at some stage in their history. Turkey also does not lose its values for the West. We are adopting modern values as other Western Countries do. Every country is adding values to the Humanity and other countries adopting it. Americans/English people adopted a lot of German culture, or Italian culture.
norelojon 1 year ago
@norelojon So we are doing the same thing, we are just a little bit late. :) This religious problems did not start 100 years ago, even in the late Ottomans we had the same problems.
norelojon 1 year ago
@norelojon you are right that adopted bits of European languages. That happened because people from different European countries came to Britain and bought with them their culture which eventually influenced the language. Turkey never had Europeans migrate to its territory or import different cultures. You will notice that Italians spoke the same language since whenever. Russia has been Cryllic since history.
nofreedom4racists 1 year ago
@nofreedom4racists Again we have not changed our language, we have changed our Alphabet not language. If you mean that we have some foreign words in our language, (like kontrol in turkish, control in english) that's also how languages build. When the Roman Empire was in charge they have influenced many cultures and still many countries use that words.
norelojon 1 year ago
@nofreedom4racists Ottomans also influenced many countries and many countries have Turkish words in their language, and now Americans rule the world and that's why many cultures have english words, even Germans, French etc. in English also you can find a lot of French words. That's depended on who rule the world, but Turkish language is not changed intentionally, never.
norelojon 1 year ago
@norelojon There are nations that had the same language since they existed and are still prospering on a global scale. I can do alot of things and live like a king if i give up alot of aspects of my culture and identity. Does it mean I do it? Ofcourse no because i have a responsibility towards the character I am destined to be. I think Turkey should and can be modern by its own identity and culture, It does not need to adopt "Western values".
nofreedom4racists 1 year ago
@nofreedom4racists the world is changing, so the cultures, it is inevitable. You can not show any language that has not changed even in the last 1000 years. You said Italian language, on the internet there are a lot of source that explains how the Italian language has changed. Arabic language has changed a lot. This is not our area, it is area of the linguistic experts, but every language is changing, it is a living form, and you can keep your identity while adopting modern values.

i m so unhappy about turkey cuz they r selling their religion to europe.they fear tht their relation might become bad with europe if they follow islam which the european countries doesnt want.they should fear Allah(God) and stop going on the wrong way.

@omarmafia234 Selamin Aleykum brother,
We Turks know our history verry well most of us are still Muslim hamdulillah.
Modern Turkey is ruled by the Turkish armed force wich almost all high ranking generals are masons.
We are trying to get rid of them now.
İnsallah The Turks will wake up very soon.

@omarmafia234 Islam is just a rleigion like all others too.religion is your private Realtionship to God,you can't rule a country with your religious views,because not everyone in a Muslim country is religious.

@BlackseaTurkk:And not every one is a communist but you can have a communist government and not everyone is a secular but you can have a secular government right?!!Islam Shariaa isn't applied in non-muslims countries but only in muslims countries(when muslims are majority)I mean logically when a country has an islamic majority and they believe that the Shariaa is best for them so would you not allow them to have an islamic government so that 5% of population won't be happy!!
omarmafia234 1 year ago
@BlackseaTurkk:that way if a communist government won by majority of 95% you would refuse the government because 5% refuses it?!!seriously is that even logical?Btw in the personal matters of non-muslims islamic shariaa isn't applied for example in marriage,divorcing,Inheritace,etc

smyrnaksk 2 years ago
I would not want to be ataturk on judgement day. The turkish people should rise for ISLAM!!! Could you imagine if all clergy in the US were payed by the gov. This is not SEPERATION of religion and gov. it CONTROL of religion by the GOV.
at8933 2 years ago
@at8933 Turkey is not the US and another thing shouldn't you be concerned about your own soul on Judgment Day instead of Atatürk? It is Allah who will judge him.
