I agree that Obama's vigilant enough to ward off another 9/11. His pushing of diplomacy around the world will continue to make a difference. He might have to bear the brunt of the depression that the economic policies of the past decade have wrought. That'll be tough.

The way that the Right has reacted to "failed" government (because of their own policies) is to contract out to private business for services that should not be for-profit (health care, prisons, nursing homes, etc). There is a motive for purposely tanking in public services - their campaigns are paid for by contractors who want to take over services that we provided thru the public sector for less money before. The delusion is believing they can save on taxes and have better services.
