  • since everyone keeps talking about there stats here are mine:

    30 pull ups

    11 muscle ups

    2 one armed pull ups with the right hand

    1 one armed pull up with the left

  • you shouldnt do more with one hand... you should equal them both out

  • how do u build strenth for 1 arm pullups i can do 3o pullups to and cant get 1 1 armed pullup

  • great great strength in this arm. you can do dozens of pull ups and still not be able to do 1 with one arm.

    my best advice is just trying the best you can with one arm. and of course keep practising your arms shoulders and back. it will eventually come.

  • Do negatives

  • start doing weighted pull ups, then progress to doing weighted pullups with most of your weight on one side,

    then try pullups with one arm up, and one stabilizing on on the side,

    then try a one arm.

  • Do like avneet06 said and also you can progress to doing negative reps.

    That means lifting yourself up with your feet to the top position and letting yourself down holding on with only one hand only. Eventually you will be able to stop yourself mid-way on the drop with just your one arm and eventually be ablt to lift yourself a little with one arm, then more and more untill you can do the full thing. Obviously make sure you don't train if you experience a lot of strain in your arm :)

  • 2 types of strength. 1.Relative- how strong in relation to bodyweight (the heavier you are the less relative strength you have) 2-Absolute, how strong in relation to outside your body i.e weights (heavier you are the stronger you are) that's the reason. Andy Bolton is the strongest man in the world but he probably can't do 5 pullups.

  • i weigh 185 im 6'3 and i can do about 20 broad pull ups, but i can't manage to do one handed. and i dont think im fat :)

  • Overhand is much more difficult for a one armed pull up than it is underhand, and this guy used pure arm strength to lift himself instead of using momentum. MAD PROPS!
