  • If I lived in the US I'd pay you to cut my hair! Great tips.

  • @muskndusk And I would love to cut it for you! Thank you! XO Carolyn

  • Your bangs look great. Thanks for the tips.

  • Thank you for your tips! I only get my hair cut about once or twice a year and always cut my own bangs straight across...Looking for something a little softer..This should do the trick! Thank you!

  • You should also check out my video on how to layer cut your bangs. This too, will give you a softer look and explain a bit more about cutting your bangs. So glad I could help you! XO Carolyn

  • Carolyn, you look great! Thanks for all the haircutting tips. I think the shorter bangs do make you look younger. I've noticed a lot of aging Hollywood types going for the same look. I've been keeping my bangs short also, to hide forehead lines. Thanks for helping me save money and get the look I want!

  • Thanks :) and i seen ur son to lol!

  • Your welcome!

  • My son is a sweetie pie and is always wanting to know what I'm up too. I am not surprised!

  • thanks so much for posting these videos! they really helped a lot when i finally decided to cut my own hair =)

just own question - when you separate out the hair you want to cut into the 'face-framing' bangs, do you need to separate out a specific portion? do you need to draw another V in your hair or are there any guidelines on how far back to start? thank you so much!

  • If you want the V cut to start at your bangs, then use your bang hair as your guide for your V Cut. (cut bangs first, then use them as a guide to start the V) If you don't want the V cut to necessarily blend with bangs, then start a new line. You can do the V cut and use all of your hair, (parted in the back into two sections) or just use the hair from just behind your ears. Pull the hair forward and start the V cut wherever you decide to start it. I started mine lower, for a wider V cut.

  • Thank you. That speaks volumes to me. I was always the slowest 'haircutter' in the salon that I worked in cuz I'm a perfectionist. I always got better tips though! Most hairdressers don't think this way. I like to take my time when I cut hair and not cut in haste. Thats when mistakes are made. What length bangs were you thinking about?

  • I have been watching your videos over 2 hrs i find you to be amaizing ...thanks 4 all the good work you put into your site ,,,,people like you is what makes the world a better place ,,,,,,,,,,your awesome

  • That is probably the nicest comment I've ever gotten on youtube. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am not very good at 'speaking' and putting myself out there, but feel I have some good tips to offer people. I struggle with this constantly. Thank you for helping me to be a little less self conscious! You are awesome too!

  • your bangs look really good! i love them. i want bangs but i am to scared to cut them!!! maybe someday soon...

  • Just use the bridge of your nose as a guide if you want them just above your eyebrows. (straight hair only!) Center part your hair, then use a comb to make a straight line from the center part (lined up with the front of your ears) to your forehead temple on one side, then do the other side. You will have a triangle. Those should be your bangs. Then cut one very small piece from your nose bridge and see if it's the right length, then if so, use it as a guide to cut the rest.

  • Thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts with me! I wished everyone were as nice as you are and had your enthusiasm. I have been working behind the scenes this week on my site but am getting ready to upload a lot of helpful tips very soon on my site. Its a labor of love for me. Thank you for letting me know you are 'out there' watching! XOXO

  • Thanks sweety pie. Its very hard to make these videos all by myself but you (and other's like you) are the reason I keep making them. According to the negative comments I get, I am boring, uninteresting, and dismal. Thank you for perking me up and letting me know that you appreciate me doing all this work! XOXO

  • Wow, your bangs turned out great and they look fabulous on you. Thank you for making this video. You have a warm, genuine, caring personality that comes across in your instructions and voice. Can't wait to watch more of your other videos.

  • Thanks sweetheart~ I really appreciate it! Heck, I feel blessed to have a voice to use! I try not to go into my personal life and just give people the information I think is pertinent but sometimes you just gotta 'go there'. Making videos is really hard work and you just can't please everyone, although I've tried! You just made my day and I do thank you! I am planning more videos soon but have had a stomach virus this week. Ugghh!

  • I am ALL woman thank you. Everyone thinks I have a really low voice and therfore I must chain smoke 50 packs of cigs a day. Got news for everyone who has commented about this. I had a really severe throat infection when I was young child. It damaged my vocal cords. I used to have a raspy voice too, but it got better over time. Demi Moore also has a lower voice and people like her. And why does it matter?

  • You hair is so beautiful!!! It really rocks now let it grow PLEASE!!!!

  • Your hair looks lovely and thick and healthy.

    Very informative video, Thanks.

  • You look great and have lovely hair. That cutting you did with the side hair looked dangerous to an unskilled person, easy to screw up. Thanks for sacrificing your locks. You rock the bangs now

  • I am getting used to the bangs. Its different for me but fun! I have a bunch of different ways to style them, so it's cool for a while. IF you attempt the face framing, its better to cut in baby steps if you are inexperienced. They don't teach you how to cut your own hair in school or in a salon, so what I've learned, I've learned from cutting my own hair, time after time. The good thing about hair is that it grows back out! I don't mind sacrificing my hair. I love you all and want to help ya!

  • Thank you Tracy in Pa! I appreciate your saying so. I try to talk plainly so people will understand what I'm saying. I learned my patience from my son Lars, who has learning disabilities, and from working in a busy salon. I was always the slowest hairdresser when it came to haircuts because I wanted every hair to be in place. lol. I'm trying to get used to my shorter bangs again. It was very shocking for me cuz I've had them long for a while now...
