  • CHALI REMINDZ ME WHY HIP HOP IS THE DOPE

    CHEERS IM BLAZING IT

  • what language does he flow with at the beginning? And can anyone interpret please.

  • @ChosenMunye the language used in somalia

  • @ChosenMunye It's a Somali rhyme kids sing. Part 1: Young beautiful girl wearing tiger-patterned light, thin clothing. Tell me your name. she says: My name is Sharaf Sharaf Haaji, it is. Those beautiful houses I live beside. Somebody please tell them give them a clue of you, Zamzam, who shines like the morning light like the scales of a colorful fish, while you were gone on Hajj had many memories. Your friend, Aisha died of love. at long last [I realized] both I and the camels need love.
  • @pashun88 A thousand times THANK YOU for interpreting

  • @pashun88 lol good enough...

  • @pashun88 well you did way better me.I still dont know what gabar yare ( shubxaanoo) is... I can your help lol

  • @UmmuMuslimo Gabar = Girl. Yare= Young. Gabar Yare= Young Girl. Shubxaano= Beautiful/Attractive... In Possession of a WOW factor. lol :)

    Your welcome walaalo.

  • @pashun88 thanks lol

  • @pashun88 ufff

  • @ChosenMunye Part 2

    (Chorus II)

    Remember us fleeing,

    searching for peace?

(3x) In America, none was found.

(This is not a part of the earlier rhyme...he added that.)

  • @ChosenMunye he flows in somali

  • @ChosenMunye its called somali. its spoken in the Horn of African country of Somalia

  • Our generations Bob Marley...

  • Religion does three things quite effectively: divides people, controls people, deludes people.

You believe in a book that has sticks turning into snakes, and you say we are the ones that need help?

Atheism is the way to world peace.

All religious people are brainwashed sheep.God does not exist. Wake up!

  • @atheist382 You talk about peace, but you're as tolerant as religious integrists. You can believe in something without insulting all the people who're not like you. And, as an opinion, we have no more proof of god's inexistance than proof of his existance. I consider myself as a pantheist, i have absolutely no friend who believes in pantheism.

Peace comes from tolerance between people. How can you pray peace if you insult people who don't think like you ? (and yes, i'll learn english, one day)

  • @atheist382 seriously dude not going all religious on you but your the one that really needs to think you say that atheism is the way to world peace but you don't even have tolerance for others beliefs... the real way to world peace is the tolerance of opinions. By saying that atheism is the way to world peace your basically doing the same thing as the people you have hate for

  • lol the arm pits smell like fish part made me lol

(somali part just to clarify so i dont get the youtube haters on my case)

  • hes literally a lyrica genius..this is REAL music right here..glad someone is still making some good music!

  • usually when somalis say mareykan ( america) we usually mean usa. When somalis are refer to canada or mexico we say canada or mexico.

  • nice

  • it sounds like james earl jones @3:05 to 3:46. who is that??

  • @werewulf22 His name is Chali 2na, in a reference to the deep-voiced representative of Starkist tuna Charlie Tuna. He also used to be a part of the underground rap group Jurassic 5. They have some great music if you want to go check them out.

  • @werewulf22 it's Tay Zonday- the guy who sings "chocolate rain." he is awesome!

  • @werewulf22

LMAO! Funny as hell but this guy doesnt sound anything like James Earl Jones....

  • that hook is fucking amazing..it's in a different language right? what does it mean in english

  • @XbladeDragon Remember us fleeing searching for peace? In America, none was found!

  • this song is pretty dope

  • ONCE AND FOR ALL

K'naan first lived in NEW YORK when he emigrated from Somalia.

Shortly thereafter, he moved to TORONTO,CANADA, which is NOT in AMERICA

    He has a canadian citizenship.

  • @phyghter AMERICA includes all countries on the American continents. You meant to say United States of America.

  • THE native lyrics, the chali "breakup", the music overall & wow... what a great song

    i'mma learn swahili :<p

  • @2337me Its somali not swahilli

  • Comment removed

  • @2337me no its somali because one i can understand and 2 it is a language

  • he used to live in America then he moved to Canada because it was better for him :)

  • @SomaliMakeupLover iz cold up ther

  • i love the beginning!! i used to know that rhyme when i was a kid, i am trying to learn it again so i have the beginning on replay all week lol.

  • tha man is hea.........fav song from mr k naan

  • THIS GUY IS A LEGEND AND MOS DEF ,,OMG THIS IS PRICELESS

  • @JessicaLuv7383 No I usually sleep afterwards... Sorry.

  • wait why would sing about America when he lived in Canada.....

    awesome song though! :)

  • @97sophia12 He lived in Canada? Wow this guy really is beast.

  • @97sophia12 Canada is in America ...

  • @thelilfck hahahaha Canada is NOT in America. It is in the North American continent, but is NOT in the United States of America (What people usually refer to as 'America.')

  • @katelovesyou666 I know i dont say canada is in the us.. America is america= South America - united states - North america

  • @thelilfck your logic is really flawed. When you say "America," people assume you mean THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not the continent of North America. This song is about the USA, not the north american continent. South America minus the US does NOT equal North America, btw.

  • @katelovesyou666 Lol i didnt know, im just 14 year old kid from holland but still let me go back to the first question.. he lived in New york city then he moved to Toronto now he gots a house in AMERICA (yeah the usa) And Canada Toronto.

  • @katelovesyou666 While your probably right about the song, "America" does refer to all 3 American continents. Using it to refer to solely to the United States, while popular, is a common reference, not definition. Assuming a word means the actual definition of the word does not flawed logic make.

  • @97sophia12 They're both in the continent of North America

  • @97sophia12 It's about how immigrants are treated in America. The rough translation of the chorus is "Remember us fleeing, searching for peace? In America, none was found."

  • @97sophia12 he actually first moved to America from Somalia and lived in Harlem NY with relatives for a short while before his family moved on to Canada

  • @97sophia12 Because Canada is shit and no one aspires to be Canadian.

  • @WiskeyDickBomber canadians do

  • @WiskeyDickBomber if you said that you dont know shit, theres alot of different culture in canada.. the most popular songs are bowring but if you search on the underground scene theres alot of talented people... dont talk if you dont know, and when america will be poor all you people wanna come live in canada

  • ANYONE who doesn't like k'naan and his music needs some typr of help!!!!!

GET THEM TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL!!!!

  • dumb mali

  • @JessicaLuv7383 u hoe

  • 9 People Have Been Refused Entry Into America :O

  • only 192,190 views? people are missing out.

  • interesting song

  • and not long ago i dont spoke english.

    lol funny verse.

  • na na na na that shit was cool in english, but give me the somali verse.... thats good hahaha

  • damn, chali 2na has the deepest voice

  • what i wanna know is why they keep putting black eyed peas in the "up next" like they're at the same level or relatively close to each other.

  • @joncastro5

black eyed peas have nothing on K'naan

  • @cluelesstimes Yeah, word. One artist vs. Three, K'naan's favor.

  • cluelesstimes

Black Eyed Peas first two albums were fucking brilliant (had Mos Def on it too) & their Monkey Business single ''like that'' ft Talib/Q-tip was brilliant. Their old band Atban Klann were ridiculously good, they had jazzy samples like Eminems ''Infinite'' & quite damn good verses but they never got their debut album out, its on youtube.

But their new stuff SUCKS so badly that when i show my friends the likes of Joints & Jams they don't believe it is BEP.

  • whats the name of the original song? the somali one?

  • very intellectual track. nice to see chali making an appearance too, love that J5

  • Funny lyrics

  • Knaan and Mos def keep hip hop alive..fkin artists!!!

  • k'naan so good

  • Haha... Somalia doesn't have official alphabet ? It does. The thing you may have noticed with the wrong spellings is that most of them are written by young people who write it as they hear it since they didn't go to a Somali public school . I think that's more plausible reason then Somalia not having official alphabet.

  • Mos def should not sing...it ruined the song, it was so off

  • Why do so many Somalians spell Somalian wrong on K'naan vids?

I can understand other people doing it, but come on guys it's your own country.

  • @frankovich213 Thats cause somali doesnt have a real official alphabet the way other languages do, so you just spell it the way it sounds.

  • @FCokoPuffs Ok, that's fair enough!

  • @FCokoPuffs wow didnt knew that!! thx

  • where people get robbed and they celebrate it hah true

  • this is one of the beast somailan songs k-naan is somailan and every one loves him for it

  • Its good to see K'naan is making music with good rappers, not the shitty radio ones :)

  • man can someone plizz translate?? I'm dying to understand what he's talking about!

  • @Burundi101

Young beatiful girl wearing tiger-patterned light, thin clothing. Tell me your name, she says: My name is Sharaf, Sharaf Haaji, it is. Those beatiful houses, I live beside. Somebody please tell hem, give them a clue of you Zamzam

  • @Burundi101

  • chali 2naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Killuminatihali, your a fuckin idiot, without the illuminati we would not have the knowledge we have today. Pick up a book and read, the illuminati are an intrical part of world history. You would know this if you knew anything about the illuminati.

  • @bigboom420 your an idiot, you don't know anything about anything that does not want you to know. You dig?

  • Lyrics?

  • I hope to meet K'naan one day, he is really inspiring! Keep up the good work! <3

  • In my school there are a lot of people from Somalia. I live in Oslo, Norway, a very multicultural city. Many of the somali students here are being bullied a lot because of there origin. And about the way they dress and how their language is like. I think it's so sad that they are being bullied like that, because Somali language is actually a beautiful language. And the Somalian people are so kind. There are just some people who transferred that beautiful country a dangerous country!

  • @najafija all i can say respect .

  • Chali 2na is great

  • Stop feelin bad for K'naan. A slow rise like his only happens to legends, he's here to stay.

  • @Burundi101 i couldn't agree more. very well said.

  • @Burundi101 well said

  • @Burundi101 exactlly soul man

  • Interesting how someone who was originally from Somalia, then immigrated to Canada has a song about America.

  • @o0OMistahTeaO0o You sound real dumb. First off He did live in American before he went to Canada. Secondly "America" means the Continent, North or South, he didn't say United States. haha.

If you find that "Interesting" then I feel sorry for you. It's simple facts for people that are well informed.

  • @Bountylicious Really? He lived in American? I want to live in American! Where is that anyways? I suppose it's simple facts for people that are well informed that American isn't a location, unless that's just your bad grammar in which case you sound 'real' dumb.

  • @o0OMistahTeaO0o So how's the blitzkrieg going? Sieg Hyphon! Really go away grammar nazi and get laid.

  • @chnsw123 LOL. Funny.

  • @chnsw123 LMAO!

  • @o0OMistahTeaO0o O0o lol. Don't try to be clever, so I mistakenly added an "N" at the end of the Country. You still didn't know what the hell you were saying. I've proved you wrong big-time. Next time Do not say things unless you are sure of it. Geez!

PS The song is not a praise. He is saying he ran to America from Somalia to get peace but it was non-existent in America, so then he left and settled in Canada subsequently. The country you reside in. So it is a somewhat silent praise to Canada.

  • @Bountylicious Well don't call me 'real dumb' and expect no reaction. If you're going to insult someone make sure that what you're saying is spotless or else I'll find your mistake and show it to you.

  • @o0OMistahTeaO0o I didn't call you "real dumb" I said "You sound real dumb" slight difference. Anyway my apologies. You are a proud Canadian, so you're thinking why "America" instead of "Canada" but the truth of the matter is, in the Eastern World, Africa and Asia, Canada is just known as part of "America" is doesn't exist to many people's radar.Isn't Canada still apart of the British commonwealth. lol

  • @Bountylicious

No, it is not. Simple, isn't it?

  • @o0OMistahTeaO0o BTW (before I get another silly lecture) When I said "America" on this occasion I meant the USA in particular.

  • @Bountylicious Another 'silly lecture'? What would you call it when you're lecturing me on the difference between the continents and country sharing the name America. My personal opinion is that no one would buy a song named 'Canada' so he named it this, plus it sounds better.

  • Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!Fuck all anti-americans!
