FYI... the blues have actually been around longer than the great depression. They were established in the late 1800s and continued to evolve through the 1900s where they became very popular. The 1920s is when blues artists began recording their music which influenced many musical and literary artists. Eventually other forms of music such as jazz, country and rock 'n' roll began incorporating its musical expression into their own sounds. Gotta love the blues.
Holy shit. I was so depressed about the future of the blues until I saw Doyle Bramhall II and Jimmy Bowskill. ! ! ! I really cannot believe my ears. Where is this kid's major record deal ? ? ?
I remember this night well. It was Jim's first time playing in a trio format and his first time bringing a girlfriend to one of his gigs. Kinda the first sign of him starting to grow up. Alec Fraser on Bass ( Jeff Healey ) who helped so much getting him started and Al Webster on Drums holding it down. Rik Emmett is standing to the right of the stage just out of sight and Danny Marks is on the left standing with me. I remember thinking man he's really playing out, I hope he knows what he's doing.
well, at 14 i was just learning scales from ny dad!!! wat the hell, this "lad" is exelent! has he or is he coming to Britain any time soon? i know hes older now btw. never heard of him untill now but will defo be checking out my local record store for more!!!
juvenile huh? listen to something B.B. King says in the song he played with Eric Clapton called riding with the king. "i left my home when i was 14 years old, with a suit cut sharp as a razor, and a heart made out of solid gold"
or perhaps a Albert King quote from Stormy Monday i think it was. he said something like even a little baby in the crib, that cant get his bottle fast enough, even he can have the blues.
the music is only dead to those who dont like it. alot of us still do.
What are you up to? What have you ever done that someone might say is good? You strike me as someone who does nothing but critique things they know nothing about.
Blues died a HUNDRED YEARS ago? Do you know how fucking stupid you are? Read some fucking books, man. Blues wasn't around a HUNDRED years ago. Blues has been around since the great depression and it's helped form so many other styles of music like rock n' roll, hip hop, and so much more. Unless you like being stupid, you should consider letting your mommy read over your comments before you post them :) thanks asshole.
wow , Canada awaits this little star , I am usually negative for all the shit out there , but holy crap indeed...sweet , mam, just sweet....thanks for the hope..
WTF?!? 14? He doesnt rush through the licks like someone young would and he ports his heart through his body language. Not just music but feeling. WOW!
looking forward to see you play in Denmark in a couple of years :) btw, you only need to be 15 to drink in Denmark - let´s have a beer also :D! AWESOME voice

Jimmy, you need to hook up with Garrett Mason and produce an album together! Now that would be a killer sound!

juvenile..not doing anything original. blues died 100 yrs ago and its not coming back no matter how many guitar lesson heroe's try to revive it.
you know how juvenile it must be when a 14 y/o child with no life experience can master it.
