@mcg18993 You're genius! Of course, but this video is 2 1/2 years old and more than a year before Apple put copy/paste on the phone. But even so I still get people who are using it. Most likely people with older devices that didn't upgrade.

You know you can copy and paste without this... Just double click on text (you may have to do it a couple times) and a thing that looks like a speech bubble will come up saying select, select all, paste. If you choose select, another one will come up sayin cut, copy, paste. Click on one to choose. This just comes with the iPod.

really slow just jailbrake your phone using pwnage tool (google it, it will show you a guide) and once you're done, there's an app called cydia. From cydia you can download apps for video recording, MMS, copy and paste, and a lot more

i was in a competition about howfast i could type in a link on my iphone with some dork on a mogul pocket pc phone, when he copy and pasted in less than 2 seconds i nearly puked! what a lame ass Apple is to not include it. the iphone is still the can't phone until you mod it! then it rocks. still slower than a pocket pc and not business user freindly!

Its beyond incredible that a the most basic of functions like COPY/PASTE/DELETE was not included in the Iphone/ipodTouch! Antique monocrome PDA's from the last century have this for crying out loud. And you need to pay for and/or install apps just to transfer files between you iphone/ipodtouch and you pc.

Many "basic" functions that should have been included require apps add-on, or require the device to be cracked(jailbroken) or just arent available period.

what if you only want to copy a part of the paragraph.

You would have to copy the whole paragraph then once you've pasted it into a text area or email you can edit it down to the part you want to keep.

It's not perfect, but hopefully something that might come in handy until Apple decides on how they want to implement it.
