Almost all countries contribute MORE percentage wise to heath care costs than the U.S. government does so that argument does not stand up to scrutiny. And the "do not even report deaths" is complete nonsense. We are not idiots you know. We see how well our systems work and how unfair and inhumane the American system is. No other country bankrupts its citizens before thay can get help from the government for the care they need.
No. America has free market medical and it is RIDICULOUSLY over priced. TWICE as much as other health care systems around the world. And it is not better because Americans die sooner than many similar countries with socialized systems. Americans are FINANCIALLY RAPED by their medical system ...
@hauskalainen Prices are higher because the government started subsidizing healthcare. People never complain about the quality of their care; only how much it costs. That makes it an economic issue, not a healthcare issue. Other countries with socialized medicine systems do not even report deaths in their numbers.
economics vs environmentalism is like creationism vs evolution. they cant be compatible however they can at least meet. creationists only have to admit that the bible is not the exact words of god but a book of parables and metaphors. The economists have to realise that thinking the world is an infinite resource for plunder forever will not work.environmentalism is not THE ONLY WAY TO THINK however it deserves alot more time at the table than the evangelicals of commerce are prepared to give.
we dont need health care reform as much as we need good paying jobs for the people so they can afford health care.lot of people working 3 min wage jobs part time with no health care.we need to quit shipping our jobs to china and start paying the people enough they can live!!!just look at the mess the govt has made of social security and worker comp.what u want to have a attorney just to get health care too?
bo stinks and so do his bigger goverment ideas.we need to vote all these jokers out.
Yes of course universal healthcare will cost not heard anyone say it won't. Is it of positive human benefit yes! can you currently afford it? perhaps, just have to make cuts in conventional military expenditure which lets face it, just upsets the world.
Even if you don't want universal care, a public option is necessary.
Cap and trade is important. It is pain today for a better tomorrow though I think its miss focused. Should be refocused around using less oil rather than making less CO2.
a "public option" is a trojan horse to destroy private insurance and condemn us all to socialized medicine (Obama has even admitted this to SEIU). "public option" is subsidized by taxes and therefore allowed and even encouraged to undercut reasonable underwriting by taxable private insurers. "private option" is completely unacceptable.
Cap and tax is tyrannical. there is no justification for government restricting and taxing our right to produce, to keep warm or cool, or to keep our lights on.
Its not subsidized by taxes, only underwritten by them, guess what? Under Bush & Obama we found out the banks are secretly underwritten by taxes.
What potentially would cost tax is the extra cost that would be incurred by having to include people that are already sick and who are risky for a cheap price. That should be covered by the efficiency of being essentially a not for profit organisation. We know it will be efficient because of medicares operational overheads that are the benchmark.
peak oil is a myth. Oil production has peaked, but not because oil reserves are depleted; only because governments (with corporate complicity) have become more stingy in extracting the vast resources that are there. removing restrictions (and taxes) on production would reveal that we are not running out of oil any time soon.
Ok, what evidence do you have for this except you believe that 'government is bad' no doubt from some rigid political doctrine you got out a book. I don't make decisions based on guess work that fits a political doctrine. The USA peak in 1971 so since then theres been a conspiracy? My own county peaked in 1999 and nothing has changed politically. France peaked in like the 30's. If you can offer me one example where oil production has peaked because of anything but lack of pressure I am all ears.
it will cost more than a trillion dollars and we are broke. a trillion dollars is a thousand million dollars. thats 100 dollar bills to the moon around the back side of it and back to earth back to the moon again and around the back side and back to earth again and back to the moon and around the back side of it and back to earth again. they are trying to bankrupt us on purpose. And Cap and Trade thats even worse. 400 a month increase on your electric and gasoline 20 dollars a gallon no way!!!
Universal health care would not cut costs for health care that can only be acheivd through government legislation with the messed up state of health care. I belive Universal health care wuold help our economy and would still let people buy other things. regurlar dr. visits still cost money which keeps the cheap or poor away untill it is to late.
Why can cost cuts only be achieved through government legislation? If you mean legislation that rescinds the bad legislation that monopolizes the pharmaceutical industry and prevents people from freely accessing their needed treatments, then I concur. Otherwise, state what specific legislation will cut what specific cost. And don't spout your nonsense about foreign drugs. They are NOT cheaper! They are subsidized. And how can people spend more when they have less due to taxes?
"universal" socialist health care is a sadistic power grab by the corrupt government. It helps no one except politicians, bureaucrats, and cronies. Never let the government take over our health care. Health care should always be private.
Hopefully medical profesionals will be in charege who would relize that when patients need a treatment they should get it. that is the plan that we should demand and get .
Okay. So is the my family doctor not a medical professional? I mean the only reason to have a national health board run by medical professionals is to come up with generic guidelines. But like I've said before, no two people are created alike. You cannot diagnose and treat patients all the same. I mean with that line of thinking we should all be wearing the same size clothes and have the exact same diet. Never mind that my mom has high blood pressure and I have low blood pressure...
Your doctor would do what he or she normally does and just charge the government. The Board or whatever would be in charge of making sure the system is ethical and everyone is recieving care. They wold not intervene in personal treatents. That is how it should be, nothing about denying or limiting care just giving it.
Those people may not even get medicare because they make more than is allowed because they work three jobs to pay the house, car, ect. They may not have time or resources or know how to file the forms, it puts the children in danger and if we pay higher taxes to just help a few of theses cases and the majority are lazy moochers i would still fell like it was the right thing.
a.) So you admit that the plan would in fact cost more?
b.) How can you not be self conscious about your health, when it is your own body? Over half of a doctor's diagnosis are based on what the patient TELLS them. And once again, if you have a chronic or long term disease or condition, you already know what is wrong with you.
c.) Of course pharmaceutical companies have a monopoly, they are controlled by the government and consumers are allowed very minimal choice in the matter.
a.) no because economy would be stimulated that would offset cost.
b.) People put others in front of them selves. Responsibiity forces them to neglect thier own health for the sake of saving money for food or a childs schooling.
c.) allow foreign countries drugs into our country.
Then maybe they shouldn't have a house and a car. I live in a small studio apartment. Yes it would be nice if everyone could have everything. But that is not life. At the end of the day we have to make choices. Seriously. The majority of the world's population do not live in single family homes and drive sedans. And most people in history couldn't even dream of what we now own. Don't tell me that those things are necessary for survival.
People want the best for thier famielies they are not all as responsible or carefull as yours. What if they had enough money to afford those things but now lost thier jobs and homes and are in collosul debt, they were able to afford it but they lost thier jobs to layoffs or whatever. Wouldnt it be nice if the government provided health care so they would not need to worry about it or pay for it? It would be one less thing they need to worry about on thier way to financial stabillity.
a.) We already have Medicaid to the poor. So this is a red herring argument.
b.) Wouldn't it be nice if we cut the cost of health care, so people can afford it on their own and still have money left over to spend on other things?
c.) What does forcing people to purchase (through taxes) a health plan that covers regular dr.'s visits have to do with catastrophic care? Do regular dr.'s visits bankrupt families? And once AGAIN how does this cut costs?
Letting foriegn drug companies sell thier cheaper drugs in america will make american pharmecuticals cut thier own prices to compete. Making it illegal to sue doctors or hospitals is another way because malpractice insurance is expensive. Making colledge more affordable especially the eight years of med school med students take.
The way to make college more affordable is to end government subsidies to universities. Who else besides the government and their university cronies get to continue to spend more and more when honest working people are forced to tighten their belts. reduce or abolish subsidies to colleges and the prices will come down to where they are affordable, without stealing from honest working Americans.
Agreed, health care is expensive because it is subsidized and regulated. To repair our health care system, reduce or abolish all federal subsidies for health care. Only by reducing government subsidies, government mandates, and other market-distorting regulatory burdens will health care be affordable, accessible, and high in quality.
as a country we should work together to provide constructive criticism and meet on common grounds. Our governments bipartisan polliticians and PC politicsis are pitting everyone against each other. america is diverse in ideologies and political parties: democrats, repulicans, communists, capitolists, ect, we are a democracy lets all share our views and come upwith a plan that makes everyone happy, or the majority happy at least.
A single plan that assumes that everyone is the same? This is another flaw. If you really believed that we should celebrate diversity in thought, you would allow people to practice those diverse ideas. As it is, universal health care, is about singularity in thought. It is about a national health board that determines a one size fits all plan. If you we can't all fit into clothes in the same size, what makes you think we can all be prescribed the same health treatments?
I have addressed cost, Geez.. it may not be right i am guessing you check it out and get back to me please. If you are talking about buisnesses paying higher taxes wich would negate all of thier savings and profits, i still think they would have a profit maybee not enough to increase wages as much as i thought but still, besides the biggest corporations get out of paying taxes. The goal of health care is for eveyone to be healthy that is my plan.
What cost am i neglecting this is bugging me, saleries for employees, goods, taxes? if it is about medicine and those health related things tell me like i said ads of course not all of it malpractice lawsuites, overexpensive medical schools, there are alot of things that go into why health care is so expensive, yes it is up to the individual ultimately but when you are poor and work 2 or 3 jobs and are a single parent you have no time to be self concious about your health.
when I say that buisnesses will save money from health care I do not take into account tax breaks or things like that the government gives them. I am just responding to all those who say it will bankrupt the country it may stimulate the country, if saleries are not raised maybe prices will go down, This is all hypothetical. Drug companies spend millions on adds that goes int the price of medicine, maybe reform will take place and it will be harder to sue doctors.
20Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness before light, and light before darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: 23Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
part 3: You sir, contradict your own faith by "drinking from the cup" of socialism. You just cant have you cake and eat it too! it dont work. you should have studied up on your sociology before running you mouth off at me.
The other part of the foundation to socialism is evolution and that states that God had nothing to do with creation. Socialism and its foundation calls for the remove of God from all aspects of life. Only then will Socialism theoretically work , only as long as these two world views are working together as socialism's foundation. God can not be in any part of socialism because of what is stated above. Socialism will not allow it.
Capitalism is Darwinism pure and simple... The strong, intelligent, rise up above the rest. You can rationalize that God supports your views, but he doesn't. The bible is clear that Jesus was a socialist. You have yet to come up with scripture to back your stance.
One of the key parts to the foundation for socialism is humanism which states: Humanism *rejects* transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on *faith*, the supernatural, or texts of allegedly divine origin. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of the human condition, suggesting that solutions to human social and cultural problems cannot be parochial. Let me put this in laymans terms for you. It says; man is his own god.
"When I first took my oath as a physician back in 1977, I vowed to first, do no harm. I'm beginning to wonder why members of Congress are not required to take the same oath. There are so many proposals floating around Congress these days that would surely do more harm than good. Cap-and-trade comes to mind. But perhaps more dangerous is the idea of a (government healthcare) plan." ---Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas)
Obama even admitted he would not want just a universal health care system for his own family; he just wants to force this inferior system upon others. This is beyond hypocrisy; forcing us into socialized medicine is an act of violence against the American people.
"a health care system... which almost no one can afford"????
What utter nonsense.
If prices are rising, then obviously large numbers of people can afford it. If people really couldn't afford it, prices would be falling.
The best way to let people afford what they want and need is to stop taxing them into poverty... and stop subsidizing health care costs (which only encourages prices to rise).
Every American has health care. Every American has as much health care as they can afford. If we need people to be able to afford more, the government should lower their taxes and stop debasing their currency.
Every American has access to health care. That is reality. Every American has access to any number of clinics. More government coercion is not needed to fix a nonexistent problem.
Either you believe that citizens should be responsible (and left alone to be responsible) OR you believe that the irresponsible should be coddled (by robbing the responsible).
Without government-subsidized coddling of irresponsibility, you take your health more seriously and make sure that you don't get sick. But, sure, let's just continue to punish the responsible and coddle the irresponsible. After all, government "providing" us with "benefits" (stolen from others) is what got us to this point.
The government should be doing LESS so that individuals, families, and charity should be doing MORE.
I agree with you that government should be doing less. Frankly, I'd prefer our government didn't exist. Regardless, in this juncture in time it is unlikely a reduction in government is possible. People are suffering, and the current structure is leaving people with poor health.
P.S. If someone gets sick, it doesn't make them irresponsible. The benefits wouldn't be "STOLEN" from anyone, they would rather be shared. You would get the same care as everyone else.
Government "provides" nothing without first stealing it from others. Everything government "provides" is "paid for" by taxes or inflation, both of which are simply ways of stealing from the population.
Americans only "give their money" because they are threatened with fines, property confiscation, and imprisonment if they do not comply. "Public services" are paid by STEALING from productive Americans.
this bill is the first comprehensive attempt by America to mitigate climate change by putting a price on carbon emissions. Rejecting this bill would have been read in the world as America voting against the reality and urgency of climate change and would have undermined clean energy initiatives everywhere.
Rejecting this bill is simply rejecting compulsion and government intrusion. Carbon emissions have been lowered in America without such a monstrous bill, while carbon emissions have risen in India and China, which are exempt.
Who cares about Sweden. This is America the most free and powerful Country in the world. Yet we are letting Politicians destroy it. Cap and Trade is destructive and full of pork tax hike. Healthcare is another step toward socialized Med. poor quality care, rationing less freedom. We have the best why do people want to destroy that. Yes we need reform but not the kind that takes away our freedom and taxes us to death.
WOW! I've been gone for three days and this FALSE PROPHET is still ranting on about this. HEY QUICKSILIVA, Go worship your Obama god some where else. And quit condemning me to hell as a demon. It is not your place to judge me. Had you really read your Bible, you would have known that only God judges. You have been called out FALSE PROPHET!!!
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
Kill nonbelievers! You called me a false prophet for directly quoting the word of God. Therefore, you are a non-believer and you should be killed.
Like your excuses to disagree with "You shall not steal" and "You shall not covet your neighbor's house... or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
Socialism is stealing and redistributing stolen plunder; therefore socialism is evil.
Agian Quicksiliva, *you take bits and pieces out of the bible and use it for yourself, to mean whatever you want it to mean.* That verse is only an account of what happend in that chapter. If you read the whole chapter, it is about renewing faith in God alone with out compromise. King Asa highlights the danger of compromising in areas where no middle ground is possible. It has nothing to do with what you are talking about!!!!! **refer to the beginning of this comment.**
Private health care denies care and health treatments to patients that need it too, watch Sicko. How can you have health care with no insurance to pay for it?
And so does the government. I've experienced it. I pay for it out of pocket. I have several chronic health problems, and yet I spend half as much without insurance. It's not really rocket science as to why. I'm not paying for the beaurocracy and I have more control over my care. I could cut my bills even further, if the government would eliminate the need for prescriptions for the medicine that I need. It is one of the largest areas of waste in our current health system.
How about we stop supporting the ridiculous idea that drugs are the answer for everything. How about we try something novel to maintain our health: personal responsibility.... nutrition, exercise, temperance.
Whereas I do not believe drugs are the answer for everything, there is a reason that is the case and that answer is the drug lobbists who push for favoring legislation and push the sale of their drugs onto doctors. This practice should be illegal, but then all you staunch capitalists would cry foul for the regulation.
The level of nutrition in this country is drastically changing due to the products being sold. They are created to be cheaper, but are nothing more than sugar and carbohydrates.
expanding the reach of government only increases the power of the drug-pushers and the food-debasers. we need to remain free of the government-corporate complex trying to control us.
Actually brokendave, my treatments are mostly derived from nutritional supplements (which are not covered under any plan by the way). But what is the logic behind forcing asthmatics to visit a doctor for refill prescriptions? My condition is a chronic life long one. Nothing has changed much since I first started getting treated at age 6. And don't get me started on antibiotics. And why do we require pharmacists go to college, when they have no authority to prescribe meds?
And who says it is without professional consideration? Do you think that I just consume any thing that looks like an after dinner mint? Ever stop to think that most people on medication already KNOW what medication they need? Most medication is for chronic or long term conditions. While it is a good idea to get regular check ups, it is not a necessary one. And yet most dr. appt's for the chronically ill are just to acquire their needed refill prescriptions.
And to top it off, those with low end health insurance or just Medicaid or Medicare, only qualify to see doctor's (in their coverage) if it is an "emergency". So it is not uncommon for emergency rooms (the most expensive of care) to be filled with low income people just trying to get a refill on their prescriptions. So you see how our stupid government policy that restricts the most basic of human needs creates massive waste in the industry?
universal health care would cost alot but it would promote economic growth to i think. Companies would not have to cover employees saving them hundredes of millions of dollars and they would lower prices of goods leading to more consumer spending maybe even higher wages for employees. The higher wages and lower prices would balance the higher taxes i think.
Health care is probably one of the reasons companies go overseas. They go to China or India where they dont have to provide health care, thats why the japanese auto industry is doing so much better. I think even some CEO's are in favor of universal health care. With all the money saved for the various companies that provide health care to thier employees yeah why not increase thier wage by two or three dollars an hour.
So are you suggesting we follow the models of health care in China and India? Is that the level of care that we should try to obtain? If not, what is the point of having the government write the checks instead of ourselves, except to take away our choices of care? It does nothing to address the inherent problems of cost in our system. And yes I am against private insurance. The real problem is our one size fits all approach to health care. It equals too much unnecessary care.
The only "model" we should be following is FREEDOM. There should be no government coercion in health care: no taxpayer support for services people can buy themselves. No government restriction of personal choices in health care. Private insurance is the only moral choice. ANY government involvement in health care is immoral.
I do not know how the Chinese and Indians run health care so I cant say we should follow thier system. I am just saying universal health care could help our economy while providing at least some care for everybody. It should be optional and if universal healthcare is no good alot of people will still turn to private insurance giving them options.
High corporate taxes are a major reason corporations are moving overseas. The Japanese auto industry is doing better because they are not infiltrated by unionizing thugs who destroy their businesses from within, demanding excessively high compensation and excessively comprehensive medical insurance.
Just because CEOs are in favor of stealing from the American public to subsidize their employees, doesn't mean it is not immoral.
most corporations get out of paying taxes, they go overseas for cheap labor and terrible working conditions that make it impossible for American workers and small buisnesses to compete. Japanese auto workers are not paid that much less than american auto workers and they have plants here. Unions fight for thier livlihoods if not for them we would still have 12 hour work days and get paid nothing. Universal Health care would be great for buisnesses and the public but it should be optinol.
Corporations don't pay taxes; people do. So raising taxes on business is utterly foolish and counterproductive.
Unions fight to rape and pillage businesses. Work days naturally shorten when technology and competitiveness allow; unions whine and complain and arrogantly believe that they had anything to do with it.
Socialist health care is an abomination and should never be forced upon us.
Saving thousands of dollars because buisnesses no longer have to cover employees is not counter productive. working dead end jobs for the health benifits is counter productive, and the thing you said about unions was "utterly foolish"
Actually that is a union lie. Unions did not initiate high wages. Modern unions were actually birthed out of the highest paying of industries here in the U.S. And high wages mean nothing if EVERYONE recieves them. Unions do have a place in protecting the health and welfare of their members (the reason for their existence). That being said, American auto companies are victims of overproduction (throughtout all stages of manufacture), not from the union or from health care costs.
What are high wages to you? I believe minimum wage should be at least $14.00 an hour and if universal health care removes the burden of covering employees from the employer the millions they will probably save would allow them to increase worker saleries and still keep the prices of products at the same level.
Why don't we just add a zero to the end of everyone's paycheck? Simply raising everyone's paycheck doesn't address the issue of cost. We might as well be Zimbabwe with your take on Economics. What you are suggesting is that we simply change the name on the paycheck to the hospitals. How does that address cost? Why would companies raise wages, when there are those in China and India who already cost less?
Taxes would increase but they would be balanced by cheaper goods and higher wages. This addresses cost because buisnesses wont have to cover employees any more which costs alot and goes into the prce of goods, I am no economist but I think this makes sense. employees should not depend on thier job to cover health costs and not as many companies would go overseas because universal halth care would save them alot giving american workers a competitive edge.
I also don't agree that employers should pay for health insurance, but all you keep suggesting is a SHIFT in cost, not cost cuts. And if you have to pay higher taxes, you need a higher salary. If a company has to pay a higher salary to offset the loss in health insurance, the employees cost the same as when they paid for health insurance. So you wouldn't be saving the companies ANYTHING. Please tell me where the cost CUTS come from? Not SHIFTS...
Okay, buisnesses pay at least 10 thou a year on employee coverage, this may be different for small buisnesses or single employee plans im guesstimating here. If they did not have to pay this per employee and they had like 40 they would save 400000, they could still increase employee saleries buy 5000 and still save 200000, enough to add more workers to increase production or lower prices. My numbers are probably off you can check how much buisness would save.
Well you completely left out the increase in taxes that wipe out those savings. You still have yet to address the costs involved in health care. And do you seriously think that our over priced system is all due to drug ads? If that were true, food should be astronomically priced. Especially children's cereals. Lucky Charms should cost $40.00 a box. I mean the leprechaun is in all of those Saturday morning commercials... Seriously when are you going to address cost?
we make enough food produced by a reletivly smaller majority of farm workers subsidised by our government compared to larger pharmecitcal buisnesses that have a monopoly over americas drug market. Food is cheap would be cheaper withot ethonal.
There should be no minimum wage at all. The employer and employee, not the government should determine wages. Government has no right to set an arbitrary "minimum" wage at all.
Perhaps, I agree in principle. The 'governments bad' doctrine was more workable when corporations were not so big. If you showed Wallmart or MS as it is today to hayek or smith they would say its a giverment in all but name.
They own all the shops and control so much trade they can't be subject to wage competition. Or a lot of other competition for that matter. Which is why we have in wage, it kills the small guy though. I believe its a bad solution to the problem of massive corporations.
Corporations became too big because government became too big and unaccountable. The free market is the solution. Government is not the solution to the problems that government has created.
I disagree. Corporations became too big because they began to sell on global levels. Microsoft grew up from nothing in a few years to what it is now in part to massive world while sales, were has a traditional industry would still be regional after 15 years. Corporations don't have to employ the people it sells to so there is a profit wage disconnect. Employ a Chinamen 1$ a day and sell in America for 10$. This is how they got so big government had little to do with it.
Neither Wal-Mart, nor any other corporation, has the power to tax, to compel you to purchase from them, to jail you for not paying them for services you never consented to, to demand that you use their fractional reserve currency, to raise an army, or to compel you to use their courts. All meaningful power comes only from government. Corporations can only bribe govt for favors, or earn their market share based on merit. Govt is the source of all corruption. Corporate power is only a symptom.
Corperation can tax. Take the profiting healthcare insurers. The penalty for not having it is pain & death, worse than the penalty for not paying tax. If you don't pay tax to microsoft the penalty is not being computer literate aka not getting a job or anything in life. Some things in life need not from profit solutions like Public healthcare and Linux.
For profits not to be a factor in healthcare is a moral one. We can play at ripping each other of in 1000's of other areas, but not health.
I would just like to say I would be up for the true free market it were put like this.
only <20% tax and Goverment not for profit Education & healthcare.
The usual price fixing and bundling bans as well as a ban on advertising to children like in Sweden. Also a total ban on unfair competition by selling items at a loss like a lot of companies do. Brentwoods 3 gold backed currency, no gov bank(FR,BE).
exactly. what prevents the free market from working is government interference (therefore there is no free market to fail). Failures are always the result of government interference (or unreasonable expectations). the free market has not been allowed to work... how can anyone say the market fails?
The problem is that corporations have become in some cases bigger than goverment. Some corps profits in countries exceed the countries GDP. In 1900 for example a man's 20 seater cafe could compete with a MacDonald but now with TV etc McD can advertise their business to extreme that people won't even consider joes cafe EVEN IF ITS BETTER. In 1900 they had to compete with local farmers for the same stock. Now McD can source the hemisphere and bulk order the cheapest stock. The broken free market.
The problem is that unconstitutional government bestows favors on corporate cronies that allow them to grow beyond what their deeds would merit. The free market has been broken by big government. The solution is to limit the power of government to bestow favors on their corporate cronies.
This true for some industries (steel, banking). But not true at all for others and irrelevant for foreign corporations as given there are 200+ countries one of them will give goverment help and send them to your country to compete(the case for every european corp in africa).
I understand your view point I really do and I almost totally agree, but the world has changed. Again the nature of advertising designed to hypnotise rather than inform. you must see that as against any free market idea.
Conservatives are the anti-Christs of the US. They are jealous of Liberal success and the fact the the conservative party is dying. The liberals are now outnumbering the conservatives and showing how foolish the cons were all this time. The cons have ruined American and the liberals are here to clean it up.
Read 1 Samuel 8. It is very clear that placing a centralized government around God's people is the rejection of God. Socialism is the rejection of God. Capitalism (respect for private property) is the fulfillment of God's law.
"Socialism is the doctrine, science, of development of what is social. Capitalism is the immoral art, science, and technology of development of capital or growth of capital -- (for capitalism) what matters is that even while people die of hunger capitalists accumulate capital."
Socialism is the rejection of God and placing the State (the creation of man) in its place. The State is supported solely by the government stealing from productive individuals and families their private property.
Capitalism is the respect of private property; capitalism is therefore the fulfillment of God's law, which demands respect for private property:
quicksiliva This was before buildings had to be retrofit so yes I was turned down plenty of times. I had my own business most of my college life..Why you ask...because I couldn't get hired anywhere. I was working at a bank and I hated it and had no other options..
It kinda sounds like you are not doing very well and are looking for excuses as to why others are doing better.
The bible says that most will follow man and deny the true works of God.... Our capitalist society is a prime example of the foolishness of accepting greed and competition as morally righteous. There is nothing in the bible that supports individual pursuits.... It's all about sharing what you have.
Socialism is what has destroyed our charity. Under capitalism, people are prosperous and charitable. Socialism robs what people have earned, directly through taxes and indirectly through regulations and inflation. Consequently, people can no longer feel secure with what they have earned because of the tyranny of their government. Socialism destroys charity. Capitalism promotes charity.
You have fallen victim to mankind. Man has made you believe the falsehoods that go against Jesus. Satan welcomes your thoughts as it's one more coal in the fire. Capitalism has destoryed man's faith in God and replaced it with faith in greed.
Herbs you're talking to yourself... You've listed no evidence, but only your man made opinions. The bible is right and you are wrong. You're an evil being... You let man get inside your mind and make you go against Jesus.
The Bible says Thou Shalt not steal and Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house... nor any thing that is thy neighbor's. Socialism willfully breaks two of God's top Ten Commandments. End of story. Socialism breaks God's law. The respect for private property (known today as capitalism) is the fulfillment of God's law. That is all the proof you should ever need. Unless you just want an excuse to steal and covet and continue to break God's law.
Wrong herbs, Capitalism breaks all the commandments... The corruption from greed and self preservation leads to all matters of sin, including murder. Socialism is sharing, which is what the entire bible is about, just as I have been sharing scripture with you to show you how wrong you are every single time. You've been lying, and sinning your way through life ignoring the true words of God.. It's time to make changes.
Capitalism fulfills the law of God; socialism arrogantly supplants the law of God.
The true words of God condemn the arrogance and theft and extortion that is socialsim. Socialism is the deception of Satan; and those who follow it will follow him into the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.
I don't watch trashy Deniro crap. But socialism involves stealing and redistributing stolen plunder as kickbacks; it is therefore 100% evil, completely and utterly Satanic. Capitalism is God's way.
So of course you were railing on the Bush administration for deficit spending hugely putting debt on the backs of all Americans to give the rich billions the Government couldnt afford. You were speaking out on that brand of socialism I am sure of that.
God demands respect for private property: "You shall not steal" and "You shall not covet your neighbor's house... or anything that belongs to your neighbor." Therefore God is definitely NOT a socialist.
Now, what system respects private property? Capitalism.
The true works of God are respect for private property and voluntary charity. Socialism is against God because it elevates the State to take the place of God. Socialism is idolatrous, tyrannical, deceitful, and arrogant; it is wholly evil.
Herbs, stop denying the absolute evidence that proves your wrong time and again. You're opinions about the works of God are not from the Bible...You're man made thoughts are used to the trickery and greed of capitalism and salesmanship that you'll say anything to say God is on your side. He's not. Keep blaspheming socialism because you're actually insulting god.
Again you keep listing your biased unfounded opinions.... I've given you Scripture. And scripture says you're wrong. Your brainwashed mind is impenetrable to the gospel of God... The lord wants you to come to the light and see your wicked ways. Please come to Jesus.
dude we are done as a country you new, tent cities will grow in mil., old will die, young will go hungry, crime will go through the roof, mershel law will come, you and me will be in a tent as a home, it will get realy bad, I just wish we would fight like in 1776, calls will not work, it will pass, if so we should all stop work untill we yank the mafia out in the streets not us
Does anyone else find it odd that quicksilvia is arguing with a woman in a wheelchair that I should be supporting his happy A@#. LOL I am not complaining, I have all I need and most of what I want. The biggest gripe I have in life is that King of The Hill is on at the same time as Glenn Beck. LOL but that is what tevo is for:)
It is sad to see. He is blinded by his ignorance and his hates for those who have worked harder for what they have. he is envious and covets what his he does not have . such hypocrocy.
Yep, I totally do not get it. With all the effort he puts into whining he could have a life.
LOL Hard work produces results. Not allways equal but hard work will get you ahead.
I am a forensic psych and I tell you I really see similar thought patterns with criminals and socialists. I deserve it even tho I did nothing to get it. It is not fair that you have and I do not.. Oh Gees I forgot for a second. It is the same thing!!!!
Jaydaddymc, stop swearing at the Bible... I have simply posted what the bible says. It's leans heavily socialist. Jesus was a socialist, and nothing was taken out of context. Read the entire bible and you will see. So what that this country is great because of capitalism as some suggest. As Jesus suggests, it's the path to hell. All those that were selfish and became rich and refused to share most of their earning may have lived good in the US, but they are now in hell.
shananagans, why would you tell people that you're a shrink, but add that you're in a wheelchair? Should I safely presume that you've been given a few breaks possibly more than someone who is not disabled? You speak so highly of capitalism, but it's social justice that landed you where you are. Sure you worked hard, but that's not the only reason you are where you are.
Well, I lived with my parents my first yr in school. Moved out with friends after that(4 people 2 rooms)I worked while in school, paid cash for tuition, bought used books when possible. I never took any grants,I got a standard student loan for my internship and a personal loan for a trip to the UK(both paid back) So if you consider $100or200 from my parents for xmas and b day then yes I got special treatment. I have never taken disability, food stamps or anything.I am far to hard headed and proud
From your story I'd say that you're one of the rare people you understands personal responsibility and financial prudence. If more people exercised your frugality and independence, they wouldn't have bidden up the prices of health care, tuition, and housing to insane levels.... and then had to complain that the government needs to protect them from the consequences of spendthrift irresponsibility.
Herbs, you're a follower of mankind spouting man's definitions and man's likeness toward capitalism. The bible trumps mans opinions. You either live by the bible or you don't... You have chosen man over jesus, and that's why you'll burn the firey death.
LOL Thanks! I just like money and want to keep as much as possible in the future. The way I see it is save, pay cash and do not pay creditors to borrow money. Then your bills are lower so you can pay cash. for example you save, pay cash for a car then instead of making payments you save $300 a month towards the next car. You make $ on your money and dont make the bankers rich. Lol only prob is saving for the first car. I drove a 15 yr old honda civic. OMG, flashback of honda..not good.. LOL
No no no, Shananagan, that's not what I meant... Your disability gave you special attention...And with your frequent mentionings of it, I'd say you've used it to your advantage. Charity is what got you off your feet. Most likely you've struggled less getting employment than normal people. Like it or not, you didn't earn everything on your own. Even though you say you've accepted no handouts, you've gotten them like it or not.
And that supposedly means that he should be extorted by his government?
Your very claim that he has gotten "handouts" prove that charity exists outside of government. Now, if people give charity without being robbed by their government, how can you still condone the government robbing and extorting free citizens that have inalienable human rights from the Creator?
with what I have seen in your view point, leads me to believe you only take what you want out of the bible and twist it in to what you want. I am CALLING YOU OUT on that! YOU are INSANE! I am done "casting my pearls before swine"! you are discusting. you stand aginst all that God has given to us. Our freedoms of worship, life, love and liberty. you are an abomonation. You will see .
One of the goals of the socilist movement is to rid the U.S. of all things that have to do with God. Rid of the 10 commandments in our courts. removed prayer from schools. you need to open you eyes! You need quit taking lil pieces of the bible from here and there, making it say what you want to hear. sit down and read you bible from beginning to end. All of Christ's instructions were given to the church . Do your homework.
I have, and the bible fulfills socialism.... One of the goals of Satan is to make the people fall prey to nationalism and to reject the true word of God.
Socialism is against God and against scripture. Socialism is the deception of Satan. Only respect for private property (capitalism) fulfills God's law.
siliva, you are Crazy! God told the CHURCH to do all that. Not the goverment. Jesus didnt go to Rome and tell the Ceasar on how to run things. he told it all to the people that made up the church. You are crazy. Your you logic and reasoning abilities is so backwards it make me sick. As for the "demon of hell" comment, Who are YOU to question MY salvation through the blood of JESUS Christ who died in my place of God's judgement of me. WHO ARE YOU!
Almost all countries contribute MORE percentage wise to heath care costs than the U.S. government does so that argument does not stand up to scrutiny. And the "do not even report deaths" is complete nonsense. We are not idiots you know. We see how well our systems work and how unfair and inhumane the American system is. No other country bankrupts its citizens before thay can get help from the government for the care they need.
hauskalainen 1 year ago
No. America has free market medical and it is RIDICULOUSLY over priced. TWICE as much as other health care systems around the world. And it is not better because Americans die sooner than many similar countries with socialized systems. Americans are FINANCIALLY RAPED by their medical system ...
hauskalainen 1 year ago
@hauskalainen Prices are higher because the government started subsidizing healthcare. People never complain about the quality of their care; only how much it costs. That makes it an economic issue, not a healthcare issue. Other countries with socialized medicine systems do not even report deaths in their numbers.
Do your research and look at history.
ManOfDeath567 1 year ago
America does not have socialized medicine and the system there is crap.
Most of Europe has socialized medicine and it provides excellent service at half the cost you have in the US.
Someone somewhere is making a LOT of money in the U.S. from your crazy non-system.

economics vs environmentalism is like creationism vs evolution. they cant be compatible however they can at least meet. creationists only have to admit that the bible is not the exact words of god but a book of parables and metaphors. The economists have to realise that thinking the world is an infinite resource for plunder forever will not work.environmentalism is not THE ONLY WAY TO THINK however it deserves alot more time at the table than the evangelicals of commerce are prepared to give.

bo stinks and so do his bigger goverment ideas.we need to vote all these jokers out.

CmdrTobs 2 years ago
a "public option" is a trojan horse to destroy private insurance and condemn us all to socialized medicine (Obama has even admitted this to SEIU). "public option" is subsidized by taxes and therefore allowed and even encouraged to undercut reasonable underwriting by taxable private insurers. "private option" is completely unacceptable.
Cap and tax is tyrannical. there is no justification for government restricting and taxing our right to produce, to keep warm or cool, or to keep our lights on.
herbs814 2 years ago
Its not subsidized by taxes, only underwritten by them, guess what? Under Bush & Obama we found out the banks are secretly underwritten by taxes.
What potentially would cost tax is the extra cost that would be incurred by having to include people that are already sick and who are risky for a cheap price. That should be covered by the efficiency of being essentially a not for profit organisation. We know it will be efficient because of medicares operational overheads that are the benchmark.

in order to understand cap and trade you have to understand peak oil
whatever 5 stars
boundtogetdown 2 years ago
peak oil is a myth. Oil production has peaked, but not because oil reserves are depleted; only because governments (with corporate complicity) have become more stingy in extracting the vast resources that are there. removing restrictions (and taxes) on production would reveal that we are not running out of oil any time soon.
herbs814 2 years ago
Ok, what evidence do you have for this except you believe that 'government is bad' no doubt from some rigid political doctrine you got out a book. I don't make decisions based on guess work that fits a political doctrine. The USA peak in 1971 so since then theres been a conspiracy? My own county peaked in 1999 and nothing has changed politically. France peaked in like the 30's. If you can offer me one example where oil production has peaked because of anything but lack of pressure I am all ears.
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
it will cost more than a trillion dollars and we are broke. a trillion dollars is a thousand million dollars. thats 100 dollar bills to the moon around the back side of it and back to earth back to the moon again and around the back side and back to earth again and back to the moon and around the back side of it and back to earth again. they are trying to bankrupt us on purpose. And Cap and Trade thats even worse. 400 a month increase on your electric and gasoline 20 dollars a gallon no way!!!

Universal health care would not cut costs for health care that can only be acheivd through government legislation with the messed up state of health care. I belive Universal health care wuold help our economy and would still let people buy other things. regurlar dr. visits still cost money which keeps the cheap or poor away untill it is to late.
john38235133 2 years ago
Why can cost cuts only be achieved through government legislation? If you mean legislation that rescinds the bad legislation that monopolizes the pharmaceutical industry and prevents people from freely accessing their needed treatments, then I concur. Otherwise, state what specific legislation will cut what specific cost. And don't spout your nonsense about foreign drugs. They are NOT cheaper! They are subsidized. And how can people spend more when they have less due to taxes?
TracyII77 2 years ago
"universal" socialist health care is a sadistic power grab by the corrupt government. It helps no one except politicians, bureaucrats, and cronies. Never let the government take over our health care. Health care should always be private.
herbs814 2 years ago
Hopefully medical profesionals will be in charege who would relize that when patients need a treatment they should get it. that is the plan that we should demand and get .
john38235133 2 years ago
TracyII77 2 years ago
Your doctor would do what he or she normally does and just charge the government. The Board or whatever would be in charge of making sure the system is ethical and everyone is recieving care. They wold not intervene in personal treatents. That is how it should be, nothing about denying or limiting care just giving it.
john38235133 2 years ago
Those people may not even get medicare because they make more than is allowed because they work three jobs to pay the house, car, ect. They may not have time or resources or know how to file the forms, it puts the children in danger and if we pay higher taxes to just help a few of theses cases and the majority are lazy moochers i would still fell like it was the right thing.
john38235133 2 years ago
a.) So you admit that the plan would in fact cost more?
b.) How can you not be self conscious about your health, when it is your own body? Over half of a doctor's diagnosis are based on what the patient TELLS them. And once again, if you have a chronic or long term disease or condition, you already know what is wrong with you.
c.) Of course pharmaceutical companies have a monopoly, they are controlled by the government and consumers are allowed very minimal choice in the matter.
TracyII77 2 years ago
a.) no because economy would be stimulated that would offset cost.
b.) People put others in front of them selves. Responsibiity forces them to neglect thier own health for the sake of saving money for food or a childs schooling.
c.) allow foreign countries drugs into our country.
john38235133 2 years ago
Then maybe they shouldn't have a house and a car. I live in a small studio apartment. Yes it would be nice if everyone could have everything. But that is not life. At the end of the day we have to make choices. Seriously. The majority of the world's population do not live in single family homes and drive sedans. And most people in history couldn't even dream of what we now own. Don't tell me that those things are necessary for survival.
TracyII77 2 years ago
People want the best for thier famielies they are not all as responsible or carefull as yours. What if they had enough money to afford those things but now lost thier jobs and homes and are in collosul debt, they were able to afford it but they lost thier jobs to layoffs or whatever. Wouldnt it be nice if the government provided health care so they would not need to worry about it or pay for it? It would be one less thing they need to worry about on thier way to financial stabillity.
john38235133 2 years ago
a.) We already have Medicaid to the poor.
TracyII77 2 years ago
Letting foriegn drug companies sell thier cheaper drugs in america will make american pharmecuticals cut thier own prices to compete. Making it illegal to sue doctors or hospitals is another way because malpractice insurance is expensive. Making colledge more affordable especially the eight years of med school med students take.
john38235133 2 years ago
The way to make college more affordable is to end government subsidies to universities. Who else besides the government and their university cronies get to continue to spend more and more when honest working people are forced to tighten their belts. reduce or abolish subsidies to colleges and the prices will come down to where they are affordable, without stealing from honest working Americans.
herbs814 2 years ago
Agreed, health care is expensive because it is subsidized and regulated. To repair our health care system, reduce or abolish all federal subsidies for health care. Only by reducing government subsidies, government mandates, and other market-distorting regulatory burdens will health care be affordable, accessible, and high in quality.
herbs814 2 years ago
as a country we should work together to provide constructive criticism and meet on common grounds. Our governments bipartisan polliticians and PC politicsis are pitting everyone against each other. america is diverse in ideologies and political parties: democrats, repulicans, communists, capitolists, ect, we are a democracy lets all share our views and come upwith a plan that makes everyone happy, or the majority happy at least.
john38235133 2 years ago
A single plan that assumes that everyone is the same? This is another flaw. If you really believed that we should celebrate diversity in thought, you would allow people to practice those diverse ideas. As it is, universal health care, is about singularity in thought. It is about a national health board that determines a one size fits all plan. If you we can't all fit into clothes in the same size, what makes you think we can all be prescribed the same health treatments?
TracyII77 2 years ago
I have addressed cost, Geez.. it may not be right i am guessing you check it out and get back to me please. If you are talking about buisnesses paying higher taxes wich would negate all of thier savings and profits, i still think they would have a profit maybee not enough to increase wages as much as i thought but still, besides the biggest corporations get out of paying taxes. The goal of health care is for eveyone to be healthy that is my plan.
john38235133 2 years ago
What cost am i neglecting this is bugging me, saleries for employees, goods, taxes? if it is about medicine and those health related things tell me like i said ads of course not all of it malpractice lawsuites, overexpensive medical schools, there are alot of things that go into why health care is so expensive, yes it is up to the individual ultimately but when you are poor and work 2 or 3 jobs and are a single parent you have no time to be self concious about your health.
john38235133 2 years ago
So instead of addressing the costs, you would just eliminate what little choices we already have and change the name on the paycheck?
TracyII77 2 years ago
when I say that buisnesses will save money from health care I do not take into account tax breaks or things like that the government gives them. I am just responding to all those who say it will bankrupt the country it may stimulate the country, if saleries are not raised maybe prices will go down, This is all hypothetical. Drug companies spend millions on adds that goes int the price of medicine, maybe reform will take place and it will be harder to sue doctors.

jaydaddymc 2 years ago
The other part of the foundation to socialism is evolution and that states that God had nothing to do with creation. Socialism and its foundation calls for the remove of God from all aspects of life. Only then will Socialism theoretically work , only as long as these two world views are working together as socialism's foundation. God can not be in any part of socialism because of what is stated above. Socialism will not allow it.
jaydaddymc 2 years ago
Capitalism is Darwinism pure and simple... The strong, intelligent, rise up above the rest. You can rationalize that God supports your views, but he doesn't. The bible is clear that Jesus was a socialist. You have yet to come up with scripture to back your stance.
quicksiliva 2 years ago
Part 1: Quick,
One of the key parts to the foundation for socialism is humanism which states: Humanism *rejects* transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on *faith*, the supernatural, or texts of allegedly divine origin.

This is beyond hypocrisy; forcing us into socialized medicine is an act of violence against the American people.
herbs814 2 years ago
"a health care system... which almost no one can afford"????
What utter nonsense.
If prices are rising, then obviously large numbers of people can afford it. If people really couldn't afford it, prices would be falling.
The best way to let people afford what they want and need is to stop taxing them into poverty... and stop subsidizing health care costs (which only encourages prices to rise).
herbs814 2 years ago
Every American has health care. Every American has as much health care as they can afford. If we need people to be able to afford more, the government should lower their taxes and stop debasing their currency.

Either you believe that citizens should be responsible (and left alone to be responsible) OR you believe that the irresponsible should be coddled (by robbing the responsible).
herbs814 2 years ago
Without government-subsidized coddling of irresponsibility, you take your health more seriously and make sure that you don't get sick. But, sure, let's just continue to punish the responsible and coddle the irresponsible. After all, government "providing" us with "benefits" (stolen from others) is what got us to this point.
The government should be doing LESS so that individuals, families, and charity should be doing MORE.
herbs814 2 years ago
I agree with you that government should be doing less. Frankly, I'd prefer our government didn't exist. Regardless, in this juncture in time it is unlikely a reduction in government is possible. People are suffering, and the current structure is leaving people with poor health.
P.S. If someone gets sick, it doesn't make them irresponsible. The benefits wouldn't be "STOLEN" from anyone, they would rather be shared. You would get the same care as everyone else.
brokendave 2 years ago
Government "provides" nothing without first stealing it from others. Everything government "provides" is "paid for" by taxes or inflation, both of which are simply ways of stealing from the population.
herbs814 2 years ago
Our government does not steal anything. Americans give thier money to pay for public services.
john38235133 2 years ago

Private health care denies care and health treatments to patients that need it too, watch Sicko. How can you have health care with no insurance to pay for it?
john38235133 2 years ago
And so does the government. I've experienced it. I pay for it out of pocket. I have several chronic health problems, and yet I spend half as much without insurance. It's not really rocket science as to why. I'm not paying for the beaurocracy and I have more control over my care. I could cut my bills even further, if the government would eliminate the need for prescriptions for the medicine that I need. It is one of the largest areas of waste in our current health system.

brokendave 2 years ago
How about we stop supporting the ridiculous idea that drugs are the answer for everything. How about we try something novel to maintain our health: personal responsibility.... nutrition, exercise, temperance.
herbs814 2 years ago
Whereas I do not believe drugs are the answer for everything, there is a reason that is the case and that answer is the drug lobbists who push for favoring legislation and push the sale of their drugs onto doctors. This practice should be illegal, but then all you staunch capitalists would cry foul for the regulation.
The level of nutrition in this country is drastically changing due to the products being sold. They are created to be cheaper, but are nothing more than sugar and carbohydrates.
brokendave 2 years ago
expanding the reach of government only increases the power of the drug-pushers and the food-debasers. we need to remain free of the government-corporate complex trying to control us.
herbs814 2 years ago

TracyII77 2 years ago
And to top it off, those with low end health insurance or just Medicaid or Medicare, only qualify to see doctor's (in their coverage) if it is an "emergency". So it is not uncommon for emergency rooms (the most expensive of care) to be filled with low income people just trying to get a refill on their prescriptions. So you see how our stupid government policy that restricts the most basic of human needs creates massive waste in the industry?

Bankrupt the country? I'd honestly be surprised if he even knows what that means. Kindergartners seem to know more about federal economy than HTWW.

universal health care would cost alot but it would promote economic growth to i think. Companies would not have to cover employees saving them hundredes of millions of dollars and they would lower prices of goods leading to more consumer spending maybe even higher wages for employees. The higher wages and lower prices would balance the higher taxes i think.
john38235133 2 years ago
Higher wages? Think about it. We aren't losing jobs to France or Norway. We are losing jobs to China and India.
TracyII77 2 years ago
Health care is probably one of the reasons companies go overseas. They go to China or India where they dont have to provide health care, thats why the japanese auto industry is doing so much better. I think even some CEO's are in favor of universal health care. With all the money saved for the various companies that provide health care to thier employees yeah why not increase thier wage by two or three dollars an hour.
john38235133 2 years ago
So are you suggesting we follow the models of health care in China and India? Is that the level of care that we should try to obtain? If not, what is the point of having the government write the checks instead of ourselves, except to take away our choices of care? It does nothing to address the inherent problems of cost in our system. And yes I am against private insurance. The real problem is our one size fits all approach to health care. It equals too much unnecessary care.
TracyII77 2 years ago
The only "model" we should be following is FREEDOM. There should be no government coercion in health care: no taxpayer support for services people can buy themselves. No government restriction of personal choices in health care. Private insurance is the only moral choice. ANY government involvement in health care is immoral.
herbs814 2 years ago
I do not know how the Chinese and Indians run health care so I cant say we should follow thier system. I am just saying universal health care could help our economy while providing at least some care for everybody. It should be optional and if universal healthcare is no good alot of people will still turn to private insurance giving them options.
john38235133 2 years ago
High corporate taxes are a major reason corporations are moving overseas. The Japanese auto industry is doing better because they are not infiltrated by unionizing thugs who destroy their businesses from within, demanding excessively high compensation and excessively comprehensive medical insurance.
Just because CEOs are in favor of stealing from the American public to subsidize their employees, doesn't mean it is not immoral.
herbs814 2 years ago
most corporations get out of paying taxes, they go overseas for cheap labor and terrible working conditions that make it impossible for American workers and small buisnesses to compete. Japanese auto workers are not paid that much less than american auto workers and they have plants here. Unions fight for thier livlihoods if not for them we would still have 12 hour work days and get paid nothing. Universal Health care would be great for buisnesses and the public but it should be optinol.
john38235133 2 years ago
Corporations don't pay taxes; people do. So raising taxes on business is utterly foolish and counterproductive.
Unions fight to rape and pillage businesses. Work days naturally shorten when technology and competitiveness allow; unions whine and complain and arrogantly believe that they had anything to do with it.
Socialist health care is an abomination and should never be forced upon us.
herbs814 2 years ago
Saving thousands of dollars because buisnesses no longer have to cover employees is not counter productive. working dead end jobs for the health benifits is counter productive, and the thing you said about unions was "utterly foolish"
john38235133 2 years ago
Comment removed
herbs814 2 years ago
Actually that is a union lie. Unions did not initiate high wages. Modern unions were actually birthed out of the highest paying of industries here in the U.S. And high wages mean nothing if EVERYONE recieves them. Unions do have a place in protecting the health and welfare of their members (the reason for their existence). That being said, American auto companies are victims of overproduction (throughtout all stages of manufacture), not from the union or from health care costs.
TracyII77 2 years ago
What are high wages to you? I believe minimum wage should be at least $14.00 an hour and if universal health care removes the burden of covering employees from the employer the millions they will probably save would allow them to increase worker saleries and still keep the prices of products at the same level.
john38235133 2 years ago
Why don't we just add a zero to the end of everyone's paycheck? Simply raising everyone's paycheck doesn't address the issue of cost. We might as well be Zimbabwe with your take on Economics. What you are suggesting is that we simply change the name on the paycheck to the hospitals. How does that address cost? Why would companies raise wages, when there are those in China and India who already cost less?
TracyII77 2 years ago
Taxes would increase but they would be balanced by cheaper goods and higher wages. This addresses cost because buisnesses wont have to cover employees any more which costs alot and goes into the prce of goods, I am no economist but I think this makes sense. employees should not depend on thier job to cover health costs and not as many companies would go overseas because universal halth care would save them alot giving american workers a competitive edge.
john38235133 2 years ago
I also don't agree that employers should pay for health insurance, but all you keep suggesting is a SHIFT in cost, not cost cuts. And if you have to pay higher taxes, you need a higher salary. If a company has to pay a higher salary to offset the loss in health insurance, the employees cost the same as when they paid for health insurance. So you wouldn't be saving the companies ANYTHING. Please tell me where the cost CUTS come from? Not SHIFTS...
TracyII77 2 years ago
Okay, buisnesses pay at least 10 thou a year on employee coverage, this may be different for small buisnesses or single employee plans im guesstimating here. If they did not have to pay this per employee and they had like 40 they would save 400000, they could still increase employee saleries buy 5000 and still save 200000, enough to add more workers to increase production or lower prices. My numbers are probably off you can check how much buisness would save.
john38235133 2 years ago
Well you completely left out the increase in taxes that wipe out those savings. You still have yet to address the costs involved in health care. And do you seriously think that our over priced system is all due to drug ads? If that were true, food should be astronomically priced. Especially children's cereals. Lucky Charms should cost $40.00 a box. I mean the leprechaun is in all of those Saturday morning commercials... Seriously when are you going to address cost?
TracyII77 2 years ago
we make enough food produced by a reletivly smaller majority of farm workers subsidised by our government compared to larger pharmecitcal buisnesses that have a monopoly over americas drug market. Food is cheap would be cheaper withot ethonal.
john38235133 2 years ago
There should be no minimum wage at all. The employer and employee, not the government should determine wages. Government has no right to set an arbitrary "minimum" wage at all.
herbs814 2 years ago
Perhaps, I agree in principle. The 'governments bad' doctrine was more workable when corporations were not so big. If you showed Wallmart or MS as it is today to hayek or smith they would say its a giverment in all but name.
They own all the shops and control so much trade they can't be subject to wage competition. Or a lot of other competition for that matter. Which is why we have in wage, it kills the small guy though. I believe its a bad solution to the problem of massive corporations.
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
Corporations became too big because government became too big and unaccountable. The free market is the solution. Government is not the solution to the problems that government has created.
herbs814 2 years ago
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
Neither Wal-Mart, nor any other corporation, has the power to tax, to compel you to purchase from them, to jail you for not paying them for services you never consented to, to demand that you use their fractional reserve currency, to raise an army, or to compel you to use their courts. All meaningful power comes only from government. Corporations can only bribe govt for favors, or earn their market share based on merit. Govt is the source of all corruption. Corporate power is only a symptom.
herbs814 2 years ago
Corperation can tax. Take the profiting healthcare insurers. The penalty for not having it is pain & death, worse than the penalty for not paying tax. If you don't pay tax to microsoft the penalty is not being computer literate aka not getting a job or anything in life. Some things in life need not from profit solutions like Public healthcare and Linux.
For profits not to be a factor in healthcare is a moral one. We can play at ripping each other of in 1000's of other areas, but not health.
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
I would just like to say I would be up for the true free market it were put like this.
only <20% tax and Goverment not for profit Education & healthcare.
The usual price fixing and bundling bans as well as a ban on advertising to children like in Sweden. Also a total ban on unfair competition by selling items at a loss like a lot of companies do. Brentwoods 3 gold backed currency, no gov bank(FR,BE).
Thats what we should have done after WW2.
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
exactly. what prevents the free market from working is government interference (therefore there is no free market to fail). Failures are always the result of government interference (or unreasonable expectations). the free market has not been allowed to work... how can anyone say the market fails?
herbs814 2 years ago
The problem is that corporations have become in some cases bigger than goverment. Some corps profits in countries exceed the countries GDP. In 1900 for example a man's 20 seater cafe could compete with a MacDonald but now with TV etc McD can advertise their business to extreme that people won't even consider joes cafe EVEN IF ITS BETTER. In 1900 they had to compete with local farmers for the same stock. Now McD can source the hemisphere and bulk order the cheapest stock. The broken free market.
CmdrTobs 2 years ago
The problem is that unconstitutional government bestows favors on corporate cronies that allow them to grow beyond what their deeds would merit. The free market has been broken by big government. The solution is to limit the power of government to bestow favors on their corporate cronies.
herbs814 2 years ago
This true for some industries (steel, banking). But not true at all for others and irrelevant for foreign corporations as given there are 200+ countries one of them will give goverment help and send them to your country to compete(the case for every european corp in africa).
I understand your view point I really do and I almost totally agree, but the world has changed. Again the nature of advertising designed to hypnotise rather than inform. you must see that as against any free market idea.

"Socialism is the doctrine, science, of development of what is social. Capitalism is the immoral art, science, and technology of development of capital or growth of capital -- (for capitalism) what matters is that even while people die of hunger capitalists accumulate capital."
quicksiliva 2 years ago
Socialism is the rejection of God and placing the State (the creation of man) in its place. The State is supported solely by the government stealing from productive individuals and families their private property.
Capitalism is the respect of private property; capitalism is therefore the fulfillment of God's law, which demands respect for private property:
"You shall not steal." (Ex 20:15)
"You shall not covet your neighbor's house... or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (Ex 20:17)

The bible says that most will follow man and deny the true works of God.... Our capitalist society is a prime example of the foolishness of accepting greed and competition as morally righteous. There is nothing in the bible that supports individual pursuits.... It's all about sharing what you have.
quicksiliva 2 years ago

Socialism is a falsehood that goes against Jesus.
Capitalism is the expression of man's faith in good. Socialism is the destruction of man's faith in God.
Socialism is greed. Capitalism is noble.

Unless you just want an excuse to steal and covet and continue to break God's law.
herbs814 2 years ago 3
Wrong herbs, Capitalism breaks all the commandments... The corruption from greed and self preservation leads to all matters of sin, including murder. Socialism is sharing, which is what the entire bible is about, just as I have been sharing scripture with you to show you how wrong you are every single time. You've been lying, and sinning your way through life ignoring the true words of God.. It's time to make changes.

Socialism is stealing; capitalism is earning.
Socialism is undeserved; capitalism is deserved.
Capitalism fulfills the law of God; socialism arrogantly supplants the law of God.

From your story I'd say that you're one of the rare people you understands personal responsibility and financial prudence.
