Oh my gosh! He does look like Billy Ray cyrus! I was like "wait is that Billy Ray Cyrus? What the heck is he doing there?!" And then I was like...... oh, nevermind.
Fred Rogers always creeped me out too as a child but his intentions were good and his message was simple. I watched many hours of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and as an adult, the core message is, just be yourself...in your neighborhood.
You could teach your kids a lot of complicated scary lessons that don't make as much sense as Mr. Rogers
The three most beloved childhood entertainers of--IMO--all time:
Walt Disney, Jim Henson, and Mister Fred Rogers.
Indeed, for "when you wish upon star, your dreams come true", considering that "someday you'll find it; the rainbow connection between the lovers, the dreamers, & you", which all leads to a definate "beautiful day in this neighborhood".
I always thought McFeely was kind of a sick, perverted seeming name, but then I realized that that was Mr. Rogers' middle name and a family name. So I guess it wasn't perverted... but I am glad its not my name.
My favorite Fred Rogers quote is: "And so it seems to me that the most essential element in the development of any creation, any art or science must be love. A love that begins with simple expressions of care for a little child. When people help us to feel good about who we are, they are really helping us to love the meaning of what we create."
Definitely wearing a sweater! I have major respect for this man. The only thing I don't like about this being put up on YouTube is the fact that someone might make a joke that's in really bad taste, or someone will say something ignorant!
The only time Mr. Rogers is on in the Phila / NJ area in our neighborhood is ONCE a week at 6AM in the Morning on SUNDAY! Once a week??? WHYY, PBS-39 & NJN need to be reminded that this is the man and show that started it all. Please bring the show back 7 days a week! A spokes person from PBS claims there are more educational programs then Mr. Rogers so the show was pulled.
I would suspect the reason is that nearly all of our medias have been bought for influencing control(brainwashing)of the public. And that Mr. Fred doesn't meet the needs to fulfill their agenda. In fact, he is the opposite of what they want. That's probably why they have his time slot on a morning when most sleep in.
It is important that you take the time to do some research, you will see what I mean....
God love him, and God bless Mr. Rogers! Both were friends of my late Aunt Phyllis, who also worked with children her whole life, teaching them music. I'm getting my sweater ready now!
What an amazing man -- and amazing group of people that did the show. What a message he (and they) have sent to all of us!! I'm definitely wearin MY sweater!! Wouldn't he be touched and pleased? Happy Birthday Fred!
