@Zivillyn It's loosely based on D&D and other games/made up, because of copyright and such. You can see that all of their books are wrapped in brown paper.

They were able to get some kind of sponsorship with WotC and a bunch of other companies for Dorkness Rising, so that's why they're playing 3rd edition and why you see a bunch of other actual games and nerdy products in the game store. :D
