  • I'm trying to play this version but I can't find the bass notes :(

Someone can help me with the chords?

    Thanks!

  • PuuurFECT !!!!!

  • Great music, I love that. And what is McCartney making funnt noises? "Purururu french horn". Great.

  • Simply I love this song!

  • what he says to george?

  • so beautiful I could cry

  • Only Mac can sing this song..

  • looks like paul had already the complete songin his head

  • @pamcartney You do realise this was recorded when he was 41?! in 1983-film came out in '84-hence the slightly strained singing in an effort to reach the notes that he reached easily 20 odd years before

  • THE BEST SINGER....

  • Look, kids! A real musician!

  • I am getting on in age but I still wonder how the fab four (John or Paul) wrote this one. How could they have written such profound lyrics at such a tender age? When you get older, you might find this words prophetic. The saddest line .. "She no longer needs you," reverberates through my mind and continues to haunt me. btw, stop fighting you guys ... lol

  • @christopherm2k

i perfectly feel the same as you. Just think of Eleanor Rigby : All the lonely people ...

  • @melfree Poignant lyrics. Maybe, I am in a dour mood, but I still think these lyrics are reflective of a love lost. Even so, I recommend looking to the future and finding your true love. It's too late for me, but not for you.

  • Well, that's absolutely gorgeous.

  • pqp!

    esse cara é foda demais!!!

  • ...paul got great talent...

  • ...and this is why he's better than all of us.

  • amazazing

  • why does he have a hitler haircut....paul wears a mullet better than anyone he looks better now

  • @bobby6900

why the fuck do you care what type of haircut he has? are you a fag?

  • @flesheatingbull yes i like shemales

  • @bobby6900

fuck you. calling someone a fag has nothing to do with their sexuality. your comment was just faggy. your a fag.

  • @flesheatingbull i now want to meet you and settle this like men. you can't speak to me this way. i am a 6th dgree master in the art of kenpo. you must het your punishment.

  • hey, peace and love, remember?

  • @flesheatingbull i am joking obviously.....why would you call someone a fag. ???? In LIverpool England a fag is a cigarette. Dont be homophobic , you lose all credability when you label homosexuals, BE NICE ASSHOLE!

  • when was this filmed? it was quite a good song, wasn't it, better than yesterday and those cuts

  • Paul nearly cracks up at 1:16 after his " chutin, chutin, chutin " ! This is a truly beautiful song, about such a sad subject !! PEACE......

  • How many instrument he has in his voice..? By the way, very beautiful version. Paul & The Beatles 4ever. <3

  • Naturally, Paul's beautiful voice pervades the essence of this song. However, the lyrics are quite haunting. As someone who has experienced the loss of a love in this fashion, I wonder how he wrote those lyriics at such a tender age. They all are geniuses and arguably the best band of all time.

  • singing a song he wrote the way he wanted it to sound.. He's the director... AMAZING! Makes it look so simple!

  • "french horn" lol

  • wow this sounds just as good as the original :D

  • I agree; this is waaaaay after Wings........

  • Well, it is a good demonstration of a great song.

  • This is post Beatles, so hardly a demo.... just a live, off the cuff performance in the studio.

  • nope

    Recorded for Revolver, 1966,

    Beatles were done in 1970

    K?

    k

  • This is McCartney in the 80's. The song was recorded by the Beatles on Revolver... but ~this~ studio performance is, I believe, during his "give my regards to broad street".... k.

  • right

  • What an incredible string of records these guys produced over such a short period of time. I love Revolver.

  • I love that upside down guitar. McCartney's gonna save money there!

  • Man this is awesome!! Thank God the tape was rolling for this.

  • Haha that was great when he said "french horn!" when he was singing the solo.

  • french horn!! I love it! I love this song so much. And of course I love Paul!

  • Epiphone guitar!

  • beautiful voice!!!

  • I absolutely agree with plavcer! It's really quite astounding how the writing duo could create such profound lyrics at such a young age.

  • a master song writer.

  • There's so much truth behind these lyrics. I know exactly what he's talking about in this song .

  • @plavcer I do know too.

  • video from revolver sessions or post-beatles?

  • @Walruson i believe the video is from his movie, Give my regards to broad street.

  • this is circa 1983 - 84 during the making of 'Give My Regards to Broad Street' where he covered some of his own Beatles songs for the film.

  • post-beatles

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    sooo cute my paulie

  • paul is alive

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I had that mic.... awsome.

  • revolver was the best beatles album

  • So much talent...Thanks for sharing

  • What a master of timing Paul is. How natural he sounds.

  • well..if you listen to most of his records after the beatles..it's easy to see why he re-recorded so many of the old songs.....

  • Pretty neat when artists re-record old songs. For instance Bob did this with a few of his 60's songs.

  • Fun?

  • i know right..

  • How I wish I could sing so effortlessly... while strumming a left-handed guitar.... and doing french horn ventriloquism!

  • Paul wrote this for his girlfriend,Jane Asher. They were having relationship problems. This song is awesome though! :)

  • french horn lmao

  • Sorry, that comment didn't make much sense: basically agreeing with previous poster that this is even more poignant than the original. Both magnificent, of course. McCartney's greatest song?

  • I also this that this is better than the original. Fabulous version.

  • french horn

    lol

  • El mejor album de The Beatles Revolverrrrrr

  • This video is magical.

  • am I wrong to like this better than the original?

  • His singing reminds me of Elton John trying to sing his older hits (Tiny Dancer, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road) who admits he can't sing as high as he once could. Voices change, usually by going lower in pitch without the ability to hit the high notes.

  • Well I suppose, E.John, Robert Plant, Macca, they've all paid their dues and given us, our children and our childrens children a legacy of amazing songs.

  • Let's see how you do when you're 66

  • I believe this is around the time of "Give My Regards to Broad Street", which was in '84, which would have made Paul only around 42 at the time. He is now 67yrs old.

  • french horn win.

  • where did you get this clip?? love it a lot!

  • Broad street out take

  • Beautifull, funny and touching! His voice sounds so tender and sweet here. Amazing footage, thanks for posting!

  • the funniest sound is after 'french horn' :)

  • lol i love paul's french horn

  • The best part of the video. I don't know how he kept a straight face!

  • Just to clarify, this is not during The Beatles... this is almost 14 years after they split up; the song had long been completed and recorded at this point. This clip was likely preparation for the 1984 film, "Give My Regards to Broad Street". And Paul is talking to George Martin here, not George Harrison.

  • Yes.Exactly right.You know your Beatles.

This IS probably prep for the Movie iBroadstreet in the 80s.Paul still looks and sounds the same as when he was with Beatles at this point. Great Song.

  • frankty67,

He's sounding pretty good here... probably better than in 1979. I wouldn't say his voice is at its 1966 levels though. His vocals were just unbelievably amazing from 64-73.

Also it's interesting to note that his singing voice, at this point, had become slightly Americanized.

In any case, this ~1982 rough rehearsal puts his new performances of "For No One" to shame. His voice is now destroyed, unfortunately.

  • It hasn't been 'destroyed', it's just cracked due to old age. It's similar to a voice breaking, but during old age. Granted Paul's smoking and drug habits have caused it to happen a little earlier than it should of.

  • ....i feel like i am for no one

  • genius at work thanks

  • wow beautiful song

  • the french horn !!! hahahahha

    awesome!

  • Amazing

  • Lol, Paul, "french horn" But this song is quite sad

  • i kinda like it this way better =]

i love his french horn lol

  • Eternal lyrics. When someone tells you that they no longer love you, you may think of this song.

  • I like his simulation of instruments

  • "ba bah bah bah ba bah french horn bah bah ba ba bah"

  • es una mui hermosa rola.... adoro esa rola.....

  • FYI: This is from "Give My Regards to Broadstreet". George Martin wasn't grey in the 60's.

  • I Fuckin LOve These Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is almost a jokey version but it still sends a shiver down your spine. Thats the sign of a song that has come down from a higher power. Timeless..

  • I know, you are so right!!! I love this song!!!

  • wonderful paul, thank you so much!

    LA SPEZIA FANS!

  • Everyone only says Paul and John were the good writers, how about George who don't forget wrote beautiful songs like something, here comes the sun, while my guitar gently weeps, I need you, ect I love Paul and John and the only reasons George didn't write as much was because of John and paul's egos. I feel George with his writing, looks, and personality was and always will be the best beatle

  • if that is true, then he could write all that he wanted when the Beatles were over.

  • but i agree i think george was a great writer too

  • TOTALLY AGREE

  • the best!

  • No, no one believes you're as good as Paul McCartney at writing, which surely means you're not as good as John Lennon. And better than the pair of them together, as you've implied? HAHAHA! Hey, I guess the Beatles used LSD for a few years, so why not you, too?

  • I don't think so because you can't write a song if you spell writing: writting.

  • what year was this?

  • Comment removed

  • i would reckon this is in preparation for the filming of give my regards to broad street, so 1982.

  • Comment removed

  • aw he even looks sad when he's singing this he tried to make light of it but you can tell he's thinking of her . . .

  • He is a fucking genuis!

  • hell yeah the Beatles all were geniuses, they create beautiful music while not even knowing how to read notes! "yesterday" came in a dream. "hey jude" was done in a single car ride (to visit julian), they just knew how to harmonize and play the most intricate music there is with the simplest yet most meaningful lyrics ...

  • this video is so cool because you feel like your the producer, george martin while paul shows you his song for the first time. john and paul are both amazing writers.

  • Comment removed

  • think before you talk

  • wonderful!

  • he's actually playing for 2 studio guys.

    hehe, juz joking.

  • Hahahahaha.

  • this is a fuckin awesome songclassic songwriting from the 2 legends that are lennon mccartney, im 16 and i love them ( the beatles) more than anything exept family obviously but it is amazing how they appeal to people of my age just shows how gd theyr eally are

  • Actually this song was compossed only by Paul but came out in the Revolver album as Lennon-Mcartney.

  • that was always their arrangement. john's last major interview gives a song- by-song account of who contributed what

  • this isn't a demo... this looks like mid-80's what is this from?

  • that just hits my heart. period.

    best band ever.

    amazing song.

  • hahahahahahaha !!! french horn 0:56

    lol u'r amazing man!!

  • This was recorded, as 1lazyb has said, for the South Bank show in the early 80's, for give my regards to broad street. I think that this was on the first ever South Bank show. For those who don't know, the South Bank show is a show looking at different art and artists. This was way after the Beatles, and after John's death. The South Bank show had an episode about the making of Sgt. Pepper in the early 90's, with George, George Martin, Ringo and Paul. It is now on Youtube. R.I.P Gerorge + John.

  • you are right

  • I LOVE YOU, BEATLES

  • filmed for south bank show in 1985 - part of the "give my regards to broad street" sessions.

  • What year is this? Looks like a post Beatles McCartney.

  • awesome <3

  • haha...pauls hair is kinda wierd here...i like how he sings the instrumental parts...

  • ba ba ba baaa ba ba ba "french horn" ba ba ba ba......

  • great voice,great song

  • What year is this? Looks like a post Beatles McCartney.

  • It is. I think he did it for the anthology, to show what it would have been to like to show the band a new song.

  • I ask my self the very same question...

  • great thanks,

    jeffery

  • wow - amazing.

  • No..... Really???!!!!????

  • Pretty sure this was done during the filming for "Give My Regards To Broadstreet", with George Martin on desk

    Cheers,

    Gary

  • from broadstreet.horrible movie.

  • when is this ??

  • This song is so sad, makes me think about my dad.

  • Very nice, you can clearly tell from Pauls hair etc though that this was well after the Beatles.

  • Not to mention the mixing console--much advanced over the gear at EMI in their day.

  • What is great to see, is that he wrote the french horn part. I had thought that that was possibly George Martin, but you can tell that Paul had the whole arrangement and production in his head, right from the start.

  • This is faux history--a recreation done in the early '80s.

  • and he also wrote when im 64 in 8th grade

  • Probally from Tug of War Era.

  • nice center partin

  • Sir Paul you are great.

  • i love this song

  • Give My Regards To Broadway has a much older Paul in the studio with a horn section.

Watch the movie and you'll see....this is older than that movie.

  • Oops! It Give My Regards To Broadstreet, not Broadway!!

  • SEXY PAUL!

  • A HIDDEN GEM.
