  • Whoa! Great singing and also super-realistic set. The grass looks perfectly real.

  • @Sieglinde84 Not sure what 84 is to you, but I just turned 84. The grass looks real because it is. We did the whole film in 1968 on location in Belgium. I am glad you liked the singing. Where did you sing your last Sieglinde? I sang Siegmund with Gwyneth Jones at Bayreuth in 1966. I am working on chapters for the whole film and hope to make it available. Claude

  • One of the best voices I ever heard. Beautiful timbre and power! Such voices are so rare to find! I'm really impressed! Thank you so much for this posting!

  • @GERMANYFrankie Thank you Frankie for your kind remarks. I sang this 42 years ago, I am now 83 and can still make sounds like 40 yrs ago. I heard many of your recordings. You have a remarkable voice some arias sound like a young Melchoir I heard live. You've listened to the best recordings and managed to do very well without a teacher. I started my voice from scratch and only worked with a teacher 6 months at age 18. Your Esultate has amazing breath control. Overall, pay more attention to pitch

  • Bravooo!!! he is wonderful!!!!. It is true that baritones with high notes can make into Heldentenors, but then, you have to have the talent to perform and mantain a healthy vocal emision in a higher tessiture... I guess that also having the "physic du role" helps a lot!!!. I don't know, probably been a dramatic tenor or heldentenor is a "natural vocal category" that has been misunderstood, due to "zanzara tenors" of this days, that cannot afford to sing this heavy roles. Heater is Wunderbar!!

  • @tenorschofield Thank you so much and happy New Year.

  • @tantris3 Dear maestro it is an honor for me to hear you and to learn from you!!!...Vielen Dank für dir Ratschlag!!!...ein gutes neues Jahr!!!!

  • He's a real baritone. there's nothing tenor about Wagner's male leads, even though he calls them tenors.

  • @witness124 You are right! The best Wagner tenors are baritones with high notes. I sang as a baritone for 10 years before changing as did Ramon Vinay and Lauritz Melchoir

  • @tantris3

  • I honestly have to ask you, where did you get this DVD?

  • @witness124 I made it myself from the VCR I made a few years ago. The film is mine and the Tristan is me 42 years ago!

  • @tantris3 Then, Sir, I must say that you have the most remarkable voice i've ever heard.

  • @witness124 Just so you know I couldn't even sing in the choir when young, but have developed a method to create such a voice in any 'musical' singer male or female if they can follow instructions!

  • I am in love with Heather, he has it all, this is the best Tristan experiance for me so far. I am desperate to get the full recording. Please post the rest of the movie, from the start to the end, this treasure must be shared.

  • @jezikon Thank you so much for your reaction to my film. Sorry but Youtube allows only 10 minute clips. I hope to have a DVD version available for those who appreciate the romantic approach to Wagner's Tristan und Isolde.

  • Heater quit when he had 3 years of full contract. Because of

family and personal reason that are tragic. in his recent recording he still sounds like what you hear in this clip.

  • JSJ1121, thanks for sharing this video. Heater was good, a pity he did not last long.

  • That was the decision that I most regret in my life. I quit after my Tristan in Barcelona in 1970 with a full schedual to 1974. However I did interupt my family life to sing Siegmund and Siegfried in the Seattle Ring in 1975 and recorded the Youtube Otello duet in 1995 and am about to post a recording with Juyeon Song this month at 82.

  • Looking forward to this recording, my friend, and these DVD's of Aida and Butterfly on what label they are?

  • Is there anyone singing as heroically today? Very nice!

  • Thanks, lemeshev, I'm still looking for someone to carry on in this tradition...you don't need a voice just musicality, passion and dedication and of course a teacher that can build voices.

  • What a manly Tristan he is! He sounds like real Helden Tenor with perfect physique. Never heard death scene sound so strongly. Jacqueline van Quaille is just beautiful to watch and listen. Thanks for sharing this.

  • I heard her many times, also very intimate in a small concert in the Royal Palace in my hometown Antwerpen Jacqueline song die Wesendoncklieder and Kindertotenlieder with piano, great, it was in the 70's
