@themakis95 you might could kill the guy who killed you and loot them back or you just get over it and start over.. the game is not about collecting epic loot tho, well it is but you better have a zerg with you if your gonna where the best loot, but if you dont you do like most and get by with common gear that no one really cares to loot anyway, mostly what they take is your mount and spell regeants/crafting materials which you learn not to take your whole stack, you always keep a backup in bank

@themakis95 The ONE THING you must remember with Darkfall is that LOOT IS NOT SUPER-RARE like in other mmorpg's. Slay 100 Mercians in PvE for instance and you'll get something like 100 melee weapons, 30 bows, 20 bits of armour, food etc. Crafting is also very productive. I have some thing like 20 sets of good armour (scale/plate) in bags ready to grab from the bank vault, plus more weapons than I can count.

Kill stuff, loot stuff, have fun.

@ose007 You drop a gravestone and everything you're carrying is dropped into it. Anyone can loot your grave, and it only de-spawns if it has been emptied, or after a long period of time.

The BIGGEST thing to remember about Darkfall is that gear IS NOT RARE. Most people will have 10+ sets of decent armour and bags and bags of usable weapons etc in their bank vault. If you kill 100 Mercians (PvE) for instance, you'll get 100 weapons, perhaps 20 armour pieces, potions & food etc.

@darklady5 All races can ride any mount. The only restriction is that you can only craft a figurine of your racial mount so you have to buy, steal or loot the other mounts to get them. It's not hard tho ... I have 12 mounts, of which only six are my racial specific mount.

Oh yeah ... unspawned mounts are figurines that you treat like any other item until you spawn it.

@darklady5 Turn the shadows off! The lighting system is a real system hog. There are a ton of other things you can lower to increase performance, but shadows have the biggest impact.

@pancakemixify You can be evil and still get access to neutral NPC cities and allied clan cities, but faction/racial NPC cities will be closed to you. A human will be 'red' to an ork no matter how evil the human is. However, if you join a clan that owns a city, or has access to a city (allied to a city owning clan) then it hardly matters.

Race doesn't matter too much. Size (big/little target for arrows) and weapon reach need to be thought about tho.

@cyberzaikoo You can fish any natural body of water (as long as you have a fishing rod). You can even fish while sailing along on a boat or raft. Farms exist in certain player owned cities and hamlets. Just like mines and groves, not every city/hamlet has one.

See, I paid for a fucking month of this. In that time, I was told by several people both in game and out that it would take a week of continuous mining+fishing to build up some such and such skill so that I would have remotely enough PvP survivability, and another week or so of a different kind of tedious grinding before I could inflict any damage.

I'm inclined to believe them, given that I found another player AFK and beat them with a mace for about 6 minutes before they died. Realism, huh?

This game keeps getting better it seems. My boyfriend plays DF a lot, and I have to say, it looks quite difficult to play sometimes. The AI is quite intelligent when it comes to mobs/PvE. We're both waiting for GW2, but this is definitely a good game... aside from bunny hopping. :P

@5swords3 I've never played WoW so I can't tell you. Going half way across the map (like going from elf to human or dwarf lands or vice versa) will tale 30-40 minutes on a mount. On foot it's a long ... long ... run.

Darkfall is a good game but it lacked some things that i think it truly needed. The open skill based world was amazing. Ship battles were cool and fighting on mounts worked well.

But when it came to trade goods i felt there could be some major improvements. I hated harvesting from the same plant and getting everything from an apple to steedgrass. I feel like if they had distinct plants and minerals that would add a whole new dynamic to the game. It would make it so people would build guilds
