  • Listen "entertainme3000" I would NEVER tell someone to shoot themselves and go to hell...not even YOU.This is an OPEN FORUM where EVERYONE has the RIGHT to express his/her opinion whether YOU like it or not!Just post your opinion & MOVE ON ok???

  • like the song, hate the video!

  • ~Great Tunage By A Tremendous Singer~

  • blows my mind to.

  • Um, it was a product of its time, so people calling it too "poppy" or whatever, it was 1988 not 1973 and he was a solo artist doing contemporary music FOR THAT TIME.

  • I do like the ZEP references toward the end & very end....pretty cool.

  • yeah....too "poppy" for my dailing listening taste....but always "catchy".If this was not RP i probibly would not listen to this any longer.

  • @oLdSkOoLkisS STFU

  • @entertainme3000 keep your comments to yourself ok?

  • @oLdSkOoLkisS you're a fucking hyp aren't you? Why don't you take your own advice and keep YOUR comments to yourself and like I said STFU. You must be a really unhappy sod when you have to suck all of life's little pleasures out of something so joyous and turn it into something negative. If you're not happy just shoot yourself, and the devil will help you go straight to hell!

  • I just love the ending lol

  • Tone Loc- Funky Cold Medina is a suggestion for this song??? Are you out of your FUCKING gourd, YouTube????

  • Robert is far better than this.......pop crap.....catchy though......

  • @DefLepLvr1 "catchy though". Usually the reason for a "pop" song.

  • I just cracked a tall cold one!

  • Prove it !!!

  • This is a good song but I think it'a a ripoff of The Power Station.

  • @meflove Agree sounds alot like their version of Bang a Gong, or Some Like it Hot, even sounds like ZZ Tops "Velcro Fly"

  • Man I suddenly really need a fucking Coke.

  • SEXYYYYYYY Love ya so hard u want your lovin' done. hahaha

    BUILT to Please ;-)))

  • I like Paris Hilton

  • All solo post Zeppelin, just like solo post Beatles, doesn't measure up to what they could create together. For this, Robert used Zeppelin samples because he said the Beastie Boys had been doing it for years - so why not use his own stuff.

  • This is Chuck Noris's theme song XD

  • its led zepplin from the 80s haaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • even solo, theres no denying led zeppelin in his music!!! he even samples it in this song! fuckin great!!!

  • one of my faves

  • All his songs are all around magnificent..

  • Rubbish- why use zep samples when he could just get the band back together- annoying and frustrating.

  • Robert did well on his own. He seemed to be holding up strong in the 80s after Zeppelin broke up.

  • Lets not forget Jimmy Page's haunting riffs are a reminder of how powerful of a band they were together. Zeppelin was an absolute incredible band. At the time Jimmy was doing his thing with The Firm. Plant is just a genius adding the sampling to his music.

  • As far as I know, Robert Plant is 6'3"

  • I remember seeing Plant for the first time in '88. When they played this song, I remember vividly during the last break where Phil Johnstone (keyboards) sung the part,

"You stroll, you jump, you're hot and you tease..." he sang it 3 times as written, but the last time he sang,

"Hey, hey, mama like the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove" in the same style, which drove the crowd nuts and I thought that was just the coolest thing ever!

  • Man that was a bad phase! Ack!

  • Okay Robert plant rocks but it's kinda painful to watch him dance xD

  • ROBERT PLANT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING SEXXXY !!!!!!!!!!

  • @Sakuya727 I KNOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Cool song, reminds me a lot of Powerstation

  • The guitar solo starting at 2:11 was performed by Jimmy Page but he stayed out of the video.

  • Love the song...don't understand the need for the pastries though...

  • This video is why too much coke is a bad thing.

  • Lighten up baby!

  • I like tall girls.... Oh do i ever!

  • @Randy71138 Plant didn't steal anything.. He owns the rights to the Zep songs along with Page... Plant didn't just write lyrics. He wrote some of the music as well. Page approved of Plant doing this and actually thought it was funny.. Jimmy Page is god to me when it comes to R&R but it took all four of them to make Zeppelin!

  • @tmpc45 Great feedback! I'm happy to get it. Thanks for informing me!! I've dreamt of Led Zeppelin almost a half a dozen times. I guess I'm a true fan by now. Lmaooo!!!

  • @tmpc45 Don't forget John Paul Jones, he owns the rights aswell.

  • this is totally awesome! 80's music was the best!!

  • That voice certainly pleased! A tall cool one, indeed.

  • Just love him - and I've always been so freaking jealous of that seemingly effortless gorgeous head of hair he had!

  • I love Robert Plant but this song screams "Don't forget me! I'm the guy from Led Zeppelin!"

  • Comment removed

  • Robert hit #25 in Billboard, 7-2-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a good week!

  • Lighten up, Francis, I'm in love with you.

  • This song introduced me to Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin.

  • I wonder if Robert washed down that pastry (or whatever it is) @ 3:19 with a tall cool Coke.

  • 'Quick.

  • I still love this!

  • fucked my first wife to this song back in the 80's, bitch loved it at this tempo :) she was a hardcore slut.

  • A flash back!! thanks for the years! 60 and still enjoy!!

  • Forgot to add, he can sure fill out those tight leather jeans! Oh baby!! He rocked my world that night for DAMN sure!!!

  • I got to see him perform this at the Sunrise in 1994. I was front row in front of the tall cool one. Damn he's fine! Robert can sing anything!!!!

  • To the 20 dislikers, all I've gotta say is, 'Lighten up, bables!'

  • i fucked my first wife to this song back in the 80's, bitch loved it at this tempo :)

  • @nunobits12 I fucked your wife to this song too

  • He can sing the macarena in a tu-tu, can't take anything away from him, he's awesome, lol.

  • Kinda cheezy when this first came out - but has only gotten better with age !

  • Blows my fucking mind every time

  • Makes me want a coca cola REAL bad for some reason.

  • fuck! ahhh some good memories!

  • i wish i born at that time

  • guys is it me or is it real! He is looking very tall and he is not wearing high heels on! Not just the title of the track but he is really sexy tall cool one.

  • @TheIllusionist95 robert is quite tall actually

  • @TheIllusionist95 He's right at 6' ... and it appears it's mostly legs! helllllyeah! ;o].

  • @TheIllusionist95 - Yeah, he really is tall! I was a really bad girl once for a couple days, just so I could meet Robert. Can't remember name of the tour right now lol, but I got my backstage-pass thingie around here somewhere:) I got to hug Robert right after he finished his last gig of that tour (backstage, Madison Square Garden, NYC). When he and I hugged, he was so tall that I could only smooch his neck, when I was really gonna plant one on his cheek:D

  • @dawnfrombeyond I think the Garden was in in 73

  • led zepplin or Robert Plant gone disco,, not a style i like at all.

  • Is that a Decepticon mask on the backdrop?

  • Is that a decepticon mask on the backdrop?

  • He really IS the Tall Cool One...

  • Saw him from about the 10th row during this tour...he was right in my face...one of the best shows of the 80's and I saw many,many...

  • what do you mean was sexy? Still frickin is!!!!!!!

  • I'm neither tall nor cool....but, bend over lady I'm in love with you!

  • fricken grrreat tune. don't usually like sampling, but this works PERFECTLY eh!!!

  • years ago the new waitress at work in Akron, Ohio was saying how she was recording with Robert Plant a month earlier in England. I thought she was full of it.

A week later this video came out and there she is singing back up, that shut me up. Good work Jane you still look and sound great.

  • too cool for school.

  • He is just toooooo good lookin

  • if he sounds half as good at his san diego concert (im going!) i think ill die

  • ya stroll.ya jog... lmao!! good song tho

  • And he was 40 when he did this. Did that stop him from getting all kinds of laid? Absolutely not.

  • Looks like Demi Moore and Angelina Jolie in the audience at 2:26. What do you think?

  • @RhythmUniverse Demi more i can see but Angelina Jolie i don't think so. She was only about 11 years old.

  • I could really use a coke after watching this.

  • RP will ALWAYS be the tall cool one..........

  • Let me say to the purists out there: Being that Mr. Plant was, and still is, a part of Led Zeppelin, if he wants to sample Zep tunes in his solo stuff, that's his right.Get over it! OK?!

  • 1 word "VOCALS!!!!"

  • Huge Fan of the Plant !! Seen him Live on this tour.

  • It really is uncanny! Like my own brother staring back at me from the computor screen!

  • My uncle Paul always used to sing this to me as a kid. If I had to use any words to describe him, it'd be "emulating Robert Plant in every describable sense".

  • This really reminds me of my brother Paul - he's a lot like this in terms of fashion sense, and his taste in music!

  • @Zebonka

    No it fucking doesn't!

  • AWSOME TUNE

  • Mr. Plant you gorgeous thing (then and now) rather than a tall cool one would you consider a 5'5" HOT ONE???? How exciting, I saw the GREAT ZEPPELIN on 7/17/77 in Seattle, WA and tomorrow night Robert Plant and the Band of Joy are jammin' right here in Portland, Oregon!!! Right on Baby, I'm in love with YOU....

  • San Diego, 1988, when I heard this for the first time. Gotta go; Doc Brown and the Delorean just pulled up.......................

  • Robert Plant is cool.

  • saw Robert in jan 2011. he was amazing..still such a great man!

  • The janitor where I used to work resembled Robert Plant (he was a fan too). Guess who got some sugar!!!!! YUMMY!

  • if he walked up behind me i would be wet before he got there... and i am 6 ft tall

  • if he walked up behind me i would be wet before he got there

  • Awesome song. Also Plant throwing in original Led in this video really great !!

  • I loved this when it first came out!!! Something new, and an echo from his past in a new context. Got to love Percy!!

  • love the ending man \\m//

  • love how tall cool one features black dog when the levee breaks custard pie and the ocean \\m// plants 80s work kicks the decade in the ass

  • great song just not to good of a video all he does is snap his fingers and move his arms and the chicks have on clothes! whats the deal with that

  • As a major Plant fan there is much to protest here...for one, he was on his re-discover of RP solo career and not sure what he was doing....the fellow who looks so much like Page was purposely /obviously used for that effect and it is a well known fact that Jimmy Page did the guitar parts of thissong for Plant in the studio...so they use 3 guitarists to replace Page live on it -about right!. But the golden God of all rock voices has since learned better...so I'll forgive him this one.

  • @CaribbeanNomad I agree, we all made mistakes in the 80's. Also agreeing with the Page/normal guitarist 1:3 ratio.

  • i heard the custard pie riff , whole lotta love vocals , and black dog in there , i mean this would have been way better without those influences

  • @Dilbet57Wombo Custard Pie? I think you mean the Ocean.......

  • @mrmojow u can here custard too bro and when plants says going down its afrom when the levvee breaks

  • @Dilbet57Wombo Custard Pie? I think you mean the Ocean.......All the Zep cuts make this song AWESOME!

  • @mrmojow , no the riff , and originality always scores higher then going back to old stuff

  • Sheer genius on Plants part, circa 1988? His answer to Robert Palmers 'Addicted Love' video apparently! The mix of old Zeppelin and his own creation are brilliant to say the least. John Bonham jr. on drums as well and a band that sounds like Billy Idol all in one package. %stars across the board. Remix this o a current club song somebody???????

  • I love Robert Plant! This is one of his best ever! ♥ Thanks for this post! xx musicheadxx

  • wow..takes me back!! luv that 'Tall Cool One'

  • Who is the hot spikey haired blond with the hot dog?

  • Love me some Botanical Bob.

  • KICKS ASS

  • bought this for my wife 3 years before she passed away! thanks for the good thoughts!!

  • This is so GREAT!! Getting so old, I should be listening to a waltz!! Thanks for posting!!

  • I love this song. The only thing that ruins it for me is the donut eating scene. It just looks so retarded, whose idea was that?? lol.

  • he STILL got it ;) <3

  • now i heared Robert plant playing 80s songs i actually hate it, but his voice makes it so different for an song from that time!

  • Love this song!!

  • yeah well witchman, I have to say, this is pretty far off from Zeppelin.. the beat of the music and how he is singin'..... not that it;s bad but.... different.... not so much to criticize .... Plant's great at everything he does .......worsed part of hearing this song again is ....... i was a teenager then and ....... now....... I'm not lol ... other than that..... this shit rocks :D

  • @jdfred1970 you nailed it dude ! everything u said

i love this guy ! plants enjoying himself !

  • I used to have this on vinyl. It's funny; some rock purists at the time criticized Mr. Plant for using Zep samples on this song, and for the Coke commercial.

    I say..."lighten up baby."

  • @witchman67

They should lighten up since the 1st 2 albums by Led Zep used "samples" in almost every song.

  • god damn he was sexy.

  • @tinker713 My oh my - he certainly was!

  • @tinker713 WAS???????????? Still has it all as far as I can see! LOL ♥♥ Lighten up baby age is just a number! I'm in love with this tall cool one! ♥♥

  • @msstevie1951 did i type WAS... damn... i meant IS... whew... sexy, sexy man! how i'd love to take advantage of him... :D

  • @tinker713 sure as hell was and STILL IS....I'D NAIL HIM IN A MINUTE IF I COULD GET CLOSE ENOUGH. YEAH...

  • @tinker713 No!!!He IS sexy!:)

  • Classic 80's rock song from Robert Plant, former lead singer of the great rock group Led Zeppelin! It just doesn't get any better than this! Rock On!!!!

  • This was used for a Coke ad - never shown in Britain tho!

  • @puddledoo Yes, and I think it only ran once in America, during the Grammys or something.

  • No offense to Robert Plant--I was never much of a Zeppelin fan--but I think the black haired guy doing the deeper voice during "Cause I'm your tall cool one..." is cooler. I like his voice better too. 'shrug'

  • @Sonicisbadazz lol... the black haired guy doing the deeper voice is Jimmy Page from LZ

  • @Gina97xls Phil Johnstone was the keyboard player on the album and the producer, who just happened to look alot like a young James Patrick Page. When I 1st saw this clip back in the day when MTV sowed video's,I saw the keyboard player for a second and thoght holy crap Jimmy's changed intruments.LOL.

  • @Gina97xls You're just kidding around right? That is so not Jimmy. Similar look but not him.

  • ...Is that "Girl in the Crowd" that the Camera shows over-and-over (The One with the short black Hair)....

    Angie Harmon?

This was the '80's, and she appeared on "Law and Order" in the '90's.

    NDL

  • I remember a hundred years ago that we used to argue over and over and replay this song over and over to see just how many Zeppelin sound bites we could I.D.

  • So cheesy, yet ridiculously addicting.

  • Wow, Plant must cringe when he thinks of this time in his musical career. He went solo and sold out.

  • He has great hair and was the singer for one of rocks greatest bands of ALL time

  • The only thing I didn't get was when the one lady AND Robert Pant ate the donuts suggestively!

  • @Surirygirl and others, If you knew your pastries then you would understand. It's a Long John not a donut. Not much left to the imagination really.

  • @oryoki I know it is a long john you twinkie.... (pun intended) .......my question was why is HE eating it suggestively???? I mean ewwwwww

  • Used to really hate this now i really love it. :)

  • That's rock 'n' roll! Great stuff!

  • The 80s were actually pretty cool.

  • It took me quite a few tries to figure out the name of this song,

But damn... I'm so glad I did! I absoultly love this song. It got me up outta my chair and daning around the room!

  • cool dude

  • Robert Plant rapping. Humanity is doomed. Now on eBay: everything is for sale cuz this is the ultimate selling out.

  • 3:17... Wow.

  • Man... i want to say how fuckin gay this whole sceen is... but these guys got so much puss that i cant even doubt shit... respect

  • @CBuckBuck all that finger snapping and twirling....lol...its like West Side Story with guitars....

  • Comment removed

  • lol wtf @ 3:20

  • What's up with the Hot dog?...

  • 1:47 - 1:57 and 3:20 - 3:32 love that dark, mysterious voice! <3

  • 8 people need to lighten up

  • Robert Plant was so cool. i mean he is just like Mr. Perfect Rockstar huh? i love how he samples all the old Led Zeppelin shit in this song.

  • I'm lighten up and in love with this song. (P.S. Robert Plant and I share the same birthday), cool or what? APB

  • 8 people missed the like button...;)

  • You stroll you strut you're hot and you tease

Cuz I'm a tall, cool one and I'm built to please.

  • First of all...My first husband got me in to see this man free and in concert because he was the security guard for his show in St. Louis. When he passed away I then met a man and dated him who looked EXACTLY LIKE ROBERT PLANT...*drool drool*...I wonder what ever happened to him???

  • Love this song, my fav Robert Plant........ :D
