With the classic ALnico V Magnet and wound with enamel wire. The brigde pick up is over wound. Heres another kick right in the nutts gibson players. Guess what Epiphone calls there Humbuckers? Classic and classic plus. OH MY GOD! There same as Gibson.
Hey whats the differnce between the Gibson ALnico V 57 Humbuckers and the ALnico V 57 Humbuckers that are in the 2010 Epiphone G400 Standard 1962 sg? NOTHING! There the same pick ups. The Epiphone USA designed and made are doubled vacum waxed.
@ 2:24 damn dude you're so wrong, what's happening here is that u got some shit distortion on, try on a STANDARD SG with a Valve marshall amp and you'll notice the huge difference with that crude natural distortion from the amp. in my opinion, an sg is as good as a les paul in terms of sound, and if you're looking for some AC/DC sounds, try out the SGs but dont put such distortion with line 6 and try to compare sounds :) Anyway, you play nice, nice video keep it up cheers
@Subhuman80 Serial number? What model? Chips, dings, replaced parts, identifying marks? Anything unique about it? Where it was stolen? There's a lot of 74s in Polaris white around the world. Nobody can tell it's your guitar if they don't know what to look out for
I like how he uses cheap old guitars through really nice amps then he puts beautiful instruments like this through crappy Line 6 modelers. Not dissing Line 6 or modelers, but why not show us what this sounds like?
Why do people who review guitars always either play heavy metal or bluesy riffs? Why can't they play some punk or alternative riffs? Really pisses me off. It's always the same scales and pinch harmonics and shitty riffs, never any fast power chords. Bull shit
there's not really a lot wrong with the spider amps for the price, they do the job, the lead guitarist in my band uses one and he sounds alright although his first one did die because he turned it up too loud (an amplifier should NOT do that). The only problem i have with them is that they kind of cover up how your guitar sounds, which is pretty useless when doing a review like this, especially with that much gain.
Line 6 is good for shitty guitars, as a begginer amp, its amazing, cuz you always sound well, but that should only be till you get a better guitar and a better amp. btw hehe a VINTAGE Line 6. ALMOST 5 YEARS OLD!!!
Ok, haters, maybe he shouldn't be using a Gibson SG on a Line 6 amp. But you've probably never owned a Line 6 amp or even played one. They are decent amps.
Grab a 2010 model Epiphone G400 62 SG while you still can this SG has been called much better than the GIBSON faded SG AND JUST AS GOOD AS THE GIBSON STANDARD SG I ALSO AGREE WITH THAT!
@stratdem not that i'm saying epiphones are bad guitars at all, but that's just silly. think about it rationally and logically - gibson owns epiphone and thus are the same company. would the same company really make a much cheaper guitar anywhere near as good as one that costs £1000 more? it's not gonna happen.
obviously a good setup can do a lot for any guitar, but there's a good reason why gibsons are more expensive than epiphones.
The simplest way is to lightly rest a fretting hand finger on any string at the 12th fret and lift it off just as you pluck it. Once you can do that for each string, try at others. You'll notice this method only really works at a few frets.

well thats probably the ugliest sg i have seen in my life........... plus..... line 6??? atleast a freeaking fender or marshall or something but really????
The SG has great tone, and between the nobs and switch you can find a good tone for almost anything, a simple fender amp will do just fine, let the pickups do the work.
Line 6 doesnt suck if u know how to set it up correctly. First dont even put the drive halfway, just a little bit more below the halfway mark. Use the hi gain channel instead of the insane channel if u wanna play rock or hard rock with the drive a little below the halfway mark because Line 6 doesnt have any numbers on the knobs. @guitarkid222 Yeah man. I think it depends on the user, if they know how to set up their amps and what kind of amps or brand they prefer. Line 6 has a lot of range from playing soft music to hard music and it doesnt sound terrible only if the user knows how to set up the sound with those knobs.

Angus Young never played the SG Special. He played '68 or '67 SG's until he had his own custom made. He did play a '69 in a few videos, but never live or on an album.
Hey i just put down a payment for a gibson sg special at gc i would reccomend the special because the sound is outstanding think of the by acdc fly on the wall thats what they sound like and theyre easy to play
Not 100% sure but I guess it means that if you're not holding the neck, the headstock drops down (rather than staying level). I own an Epi SG and it does that, so you have to be a little careful it doesn't hit anything.
i mean... if you play an electric guitar, your learning are not limited.. coz you will be using some effects and at the same time you can play the clean sound, unlike on an acoustic guitar.. youll just concentrating on acoustic... on an electric guitar you can play a lot of genre..
i think they used those flat "vintage" frets around this era...i know for sure they did in the 70's but im not sure about this one. thas what it looks like tho

@ExplodingBody
Not to be a dick, but I had to point out, if he said it at 5:26, technically it was over five minutes.

Angus Young never played the SG Special. He played '68 or '67 SG's until he had his own custom made. He did play a '69 in a few videos, but never live or on an album.

I like the les paul heaviness personally... it feels more like... iunno it feels fullfilling xD

For people who really want an SG, I have noticed this guy isn't very negative in his reviews of SG's.
He mentioned that Firebirds are top heavy and fails to mention that SG's are the same.
They are also still extremely fragile I have an 05 standard and one too many spills from stand to tile floor put a crack in neck.
other than that it is a great guitar but it is the glass cannon of gibsons.
If you want a guitar that can take a beating get a les paul.

how is an SG top heavy? its a symmetrical guitar =] haha. i dont really understand how its topheavy, sorry.
stompnd 2 years ago
Not 100% sure but I guess it means that if you're not holding the neck, the headstock drops down (rather than staying level). I own an Epi SG and it does that, so you have to be a little careful it doesn't hit anything.

the frets would be medium jumbo since its a gibson.

Hmm nice, I am going to get one for Christmas. I was wondering should I get a Electric Guitar? Or another Accoustic but very good?
WatchPlayDownload 2 years ago
for me, get a an electric one, coz electic guitars will improve your skills,,,
bryllecosare23 2 years ago
Improve skills?? How the hell electric guitars improve skills???
DonXter 2 years ago
i mean... if you play an electric guitar, your learning are not limited.. coz you will be using some effects and at the same time you can play the clean sound, unlike on an acoustic guitar.. youll just concentrating on acoustic... on an electric guitar you can play a lot of genre..

is it just me or do those frets look like non-jumbo.. uncharacteristic for gibson
BMXplease11 2 years ago
