Cassandra, I moved to Seattle five months ago and left my family in Kentucky, much further than you from yours. It's hard being away from them and I have younger sisters that I don't want to miss growing up either, so this vlog struck closer to home than most. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should take advantage of being close to your family and try to visit them as much as you can - you're right. They'll only be around for so long...

I think it is normal that you miss your family, the "cultural shock" you experience when you move to a different lifestyle is harder after like 6 months. I think you are doing a great job not letting this get in your way to pursue your dreams... you're the best.

Personally one of my issues as being the oldest sibling is the same as yours that you mentioned in this video, I'm not gonna be able to really see my siblings mature and grow up as well and for me personally there is quite a difference in age (14yrs and 8yrs) so that's a considerable amount of years I'm gonna miss.

the thoughts about your family, are just part of growing up. I feel that way all the time and I've lived away from my family for 14 years. I live in seattle, they all live in illinois. My dad is not doing well, he is 67 . However if I move home then there is nothing to do for me, so thats what keeps me here. Your family is still very young, and it sounds like it's not that far, at least it's close enough to go home. I would not worry so much its just life
