  • I can remember when I played oldies and this was one of a great list of songs requested

  • My first 45 was played so much that by the late 70s it had no grooves left. Al of those nickels being put on the tone arm. Fortunately, I later got 2 copies just in case, but I don't have my turntable hooked up anymore. Hopefully the instrumental is here on youtube

  • You can find both sides of this song, as well as "A Woman Will Do Wrong" and "Dear Mother' on the CD "The Magic Touch & Friends.

    "

  • This is the song that made Long Island proud! Magic Touch featured Pat Carty as lead vocalist [On the live version, Diane Tyler leads], Marsha Bivens and LaRonda Williams, and recorded "Step Into My World" on the Black Falcon label in April 1971, They later released "A Woman Will Do Wrong" backed by its sequel "Dear Mother." Pat is still singing, as of July 2011, though mostly gospel.

  • @LIsMRMOTOWN According to the liner notes which were written by the producer Bill Seabrook, the lineup who recorded this song were Pat Carny on lead & Ruthie, Lorraine & Geraldine Fitzgerald. Geraldine is the beautiful voice who opens this song, as well as all of those soaring obligato parts.

  • This song was worn out by me. God did these lyrics move me. I could reach each note when it came out and it stayed in my mind all of these years. Sort of just after the whole 50's and 60's music which I loved soooo much.

  • I have been looking for this for years...THANK YOU!! Nobody knew what I was speaking about about when I mentioned this song! I am so glad you posted this...I'm so excited..THIS IS SOME GOOD STUFF!!!

  • this song is dedicated to the class of 1971 turners station

  • Fergie should not be mentioned in the same sentence as the other artists you mentioned.

  • Yep. you're right! they surely don't make 'em like that anymore, with the exception of Alicia, Erykha, Fergie, india.A, and that very troubled female lead, formerly of the Fugees. By the way, JonDom63, if you're not too busy, could you post Part 2 of the Magic Touche's "Step Into My World (Instrumental)"? Their classic gem just wouldn't be complete without it

  • You're so right - the "B" side (Part 2 - Instrumental) would make it perfect. Believe me, I've been searching long & hard for that 45 (Black Falcon Records - ah yes, I remember it well), but, so far, to no avail. Once I do find it, however, I'll have it posted with a quickness... trust and believe!

  • Classic, they don't make them like this anymore...
