  • This is where it all began and sadly THE EMPIRE ROLLERDROME aka EMPIRE is no more. We skateheads lived for this 7 nights a week, and to show you our love for the art of dance-skating, in late December 1977 when NYC was closed down because of the snow, we trudged from EMPIRE to PARK CIRCLE and took over the joint. ROXY, SWEET RUBY, MIDDLE VILLAGE, 516 in BALDWIN, UTICA, USA, SKATE CITY, SKATE KEY, THE RINK & LACES could never touch EMPIRE.

  • THIS CLIP IS AMAZING.PEOPLE TAKE HISTORY FOR GRANTED WHICH IS WHY POEPLE OF THE 21ST CENTURY ERA ARE SO DAMM STUPID.I GIVE A PROUD SHOUT-OUT TO THE ''CLASSIC QUAD 78'',FOR KEEPING IT RAW AND FUNKY.I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT ''EMPIRE ROLLER RINK ''LOOKED LIKED IN 78''.BEAUTIFUL.I WAS LUCKY.I WAS ALATE 70'S KID.PEOPLE OF TODAY WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUE FUN OF THIS TIME.
