You forgot to key away the shadow from the Lightsaber on the floor, strong light can not create a shadow as long as there isn't something in front of it, and it doesn't happening in this movie! Lightsaber in movies should make light 360 degree around it.

Hi, Sorry for not responding you. I had some problem with my account. CC toner comes with After Effects. But you don'y need CC Toner. Hue/saturation do the same purpose.

Nice tutorial, very informative and easy to follow.

A tip to enhance the effect, add a stock footage of flames or something on fire, and make it follow the tip of your rod. Dont forget that it actually MELTS down what it touches;)

very simple and short explaining. i must try check it out at my videos :). but there should be also some particles that will be simulating sparks and some light changing at the lightsaber. also tracking the saber is useless at fast-action fights, but of course we're not making next episode of Star Wars :P.

That's a nice tutorial. It covers a lot of the more advanced aspects of afterEffects such as masking, the motion tracker, and how a simple shot like that can be made to look great with a few layers, and a lot of skill.

One thing I'd like to point out though, if you want better results, you should use 2 track points (by turning on rotation, and possibly the scale option). Right now, in the final comp, there's quite a lot of sliding going on in the background.
