The reason is, I feel that a debate in that sense is ment to really explain both sides of the argument, and then to have spectators decide which position makes sense to them. I however do not feel it does any good to convince the person you are debating to actualy change their mind about anything. However, it is still great to show those on the fence which side is right, and that is the true way to "win" a debate in my opinion.

Base principle : If a video about religion, politics, or any such topic, has the comment approval on AND the video response option off from the start (cause otherwise it might be some trolls being throw out), the person making the video is not open to debate.
