@avdreader1 saying "stay away from rap and music with dirty lyrics" is just plain ignorant, there is plenty of good rap music, a lot of with similar social messages as Neil and others, such as Public Enemy, Mos Def, Immortal Technique, and Lupe Fiasco. Don't let views on a genre be dictated by the small amount of it you've heard on the radio.
"Every junkie's like a setting sun." So haunting... when my mom was in high school, several of her friends got into drugs, and they just seemed to drift away.
@avdreader1 I don't think you know anything about hip hop beyond what's on the radio and if you limit taste in music due to "dirty" lyrics then that's really quite dumb in my opinion, being that you're missing out on so much. Don't be so closed minded.

My very close friend David Niemuth just died of a heroin overdose. I'm a recoverning alcoholic and addict. I just can't help to think that could of been me. I see all my homies dying because of drugs and it hurts real bad. I take my 1st step daily because I do it for them. I do it for everyone who has every suffered from addiction. I know they are with the angels right now. O Praise God
this song is such a reminder of the agony of addiction and how grateful I am to be clean, reminds me of the many friends I have lost to the needle in life and death.
i watched my best friend commit suicide because of the stupidity of the needle and ended up an addict myself ... this song is amazing and speaks louder than any other song to me
