  • Blacks always attcking and reds always on defense!

  • Either these guys were pulling their knees or they just suck at knee strikes. I have all the respect for Baji guys in the world. Don't get me wrong.

  • 0:49 Bajiquan power. El poder del Bajiquan

  • looks more like sumo :D

just joking I know sport limitations, but I don't think limiting techniques gives justice to baji

  • Well, doesn't look fake to me. It's just that the fight is limited to some set of rules... Like any other fighting tournament. (Take UFC for instance... I often witness some funny techniques in UFC like trying to kick your opponent while lying on your back... obviously in real fight this doesn't work coz it leaves the groin area vulnerable to attack. Furthermore it looks stupid.)

  • Wah Hahahaha, I want punch them all!

  • If you want my opinion, I dont believe any of the attacks are real. It looks more like a kung fu style WWE match, set with a point system. Look at the strikes and throws slowly and see the body movements.

  • Obviously, these two fighters are at different level. The one in black is a practitioner without much competition experience it seems. He literally walked in with a weak kick...

  • lacking intensity

  • where was the blood aka UFC

  • You all do know that this is like the Chinese version of WWF?

  • @jdub7771 Cena needs to get into this then, i'm sure he would use the FU for real and it'll do squat all haha

  • The black guy did wrong to attack all the time, he should had waited for an attack, and then counter it, like the red guy did.

The red guy got a advantage in size aswell, thats why he seemed to whoop the blacks ass.

Black however, despite his poor tactics did manage to get some good hits in, i'll give him that.

But both of them seemed like beginners to me, clumsy fight that was. Though that being sayd, i'd bet most (not all maybe) of us commenting here, coudnt do even that much perhaps.

  • @Woodsyone I think you are so right... its funny!!!

  • @Woodsyone um... it's fake

  • @S0undBite Perhaps.

  • @Woodsyone you don't think? It look ridiculous, the ref looks like he is from a triad

  • this doesn't look like Baji.Maybe its another form of Baji(?)

  • @RileyOcelot it's sanda...not baji

  • @minustar

Are you sure? This really doesn't look like Sanda... If this was Sanda they probably wouldn't be dressed like that and there hands wouldn't be so low and in such a weird position...

It looks like both of them learned Baji and are trying to apply the concepts to a fight... kind of....

  • this isn't bajiquan

  • Great Fight!!! The 1 black tried hard, and scored a few points

  • To me it doesn't look like Bajiquan it looks like baji (eight extremes boxing). And he's not even good at that he needs to practice more man Li Shu Wen would kill both of them so easily.

  • better hope they never meet a thai boxer cause they will get killed with their clumsy grappling and pathetic knees

  • the red dude just waits...

  • I thought their match doesn't allow striking to the head, but the red guy actually hits the black guy in the face at their middle of their fight. Anyway, i think both of them suck!

  • wow that guy in the black....dont know how to fight..

  • This seems more like Shuai jiao then actually bajiquan.

  • @InterfectumDeus Baji has all those throws too.

  • no ba ji!!!!

  • I dont know why the guy in the black insists on throwing kicks when the guy on red is constantly making him regret it.

  • @cmysharingan He is probabally in a panic out of feeling so over matched and cant get out of his pattern.

  • I feel sorry for black shirt guy :(

I don't practice baji so I can't tell if it's just his size and strength, but it looks like red shirt guy is unleashing a major whoopin.

  • Interesting, but it looks like an exhibition more than a proper fight to me. Bajiquan is quite strong, I like it a lot. This is more a demonstration, I think.

  • when fighting you must make it direct and simple no time for fansy shit becuase u mait get your ass kicked

  • The voids when fighting much bigger/heavier fella:

    1) Never attack straight on

    2) Never get into grappling/wrestling

    3) Never launch any attack at max effective range - even smaller guy won't feel anything when being hit

  • Im so sorry but I think they both are not made for fighting, I don't feel the fighting spirit here.

  • Ahaha what the fuck does it mean? ahha this is a sportive fight, how can you know if theese guys have fighting spirit? You can just judge the tecniques in this match. There are some rules in a sportive fight, they certainly can't do a "fu hu" or put a finger in an eye :D I love youtube because is funny: it allows people like you to write every kind of bullshits that populate their brain

  • i dont see any baji...

  • こんなの八極拳じゃないじゃん。投げ技ばっかり。柔道みたい。

  • the dude in black is a pretty tough little bastard

  • WWE?....jojojo.-, i hear childrens...cmon!

  • killing arts just don't translate into a sporting fight.

  • Agreed

  • i think it looks pretty cool

  • what about muay thai and other deadly arts ...muay thais a sport ; )

  • Good match. This kind of throw is rare even in a japanesse jujutsu match.

  • do u have to use baji in this ocntest alot of em r not keeping their hands up but then again since they r not wearing gloves i assume hitting ot the face is not allowed

  • looks fake to me 0:21

    plus the wieght class.....

  • Wow, that guy is going OFF. Xingyiquan, not the guys in the video.

  • mao's personal bodyguards were bajiquan-ers

  • This is a mismatch, yet a great fight. I really thought that Baji Quan is an impractical Gung Fu but now I realized that it does have its own efficiency. If Octobox is saying that this style is impractical, then perhaps he's just a biased scholar and a biased scholar, regardless of one's vain achievements, is bound to fail just to rectify that mistake. I have to say, Baji Quan in combat apllication is just like a stiff version of Combat Aikido. But it is still a brilliant fight, though...

  • nope; the big dude is just skilled, and besides he's out of shape. Weight difference when its muscle weight, I agree, in sporting martial arts it DOES make a difference, because muscle weight is functional. Weight difference however, when one dude is out of shape like the big dude here, fat weight, it really doesn't if anything the big dude is at a disadvantage. That he was so skilled, that despite being overweight he STILL manhandled the more fit dude is incredible; great efficiency.

  • Loundly?!! What a fuck is a loundly?!! For an intelligent race, you surely are embarrassing your people with your wrong spelling and your pathetic grammar. Chinese people doesn't give a damn about English language, I know, they sometimes hate the gwilo but at least they don't embarrass themselves. That's why most of them, if they know English, speaks fluently and uses excellent grammar and spelling rather than trying to bullshit everyone. Loundly... Cut yourself some slack. You're agitated.

  • The "Negro Hybrids", as you put it, did survive in a very harsh and hellish environment. They can even afford to fight back Somalian terrorists if they could scrape some guns on their junkyard (which is pretty much everywhere) Imagine if God puts you there just for laughs, could you live for another day, then?

  • Oh god shut up please, you're just constantly showing how ignorant and uneducated you are. It's really pathetic, for everyones sake just shut it. :)

  • Xingy: You're a white guy play acting chinese -- Chinese do not say "negro" -- your "broken" english must mean you have not been here long and in that time you did not learn to say "negros" hahaha.

I hope you live in interesting times ;)

  • Chingy: I also like the "666" in your name, so I take it that you are an "atheist" a "non-comformist." Why then do you stick up for hard-wired modalities of kung fu training. Why not train where all the elite athletes, military, and police train for "real world" application.

Also, why does it state that you are "American" -- OMG and you are telling me "I'm too influenced by 'whites'"

You are a joker and not to be taken seriously.

Probably inbred redneck who wants to be Chinese.

  • Xingyi: Do you notice how your name looks like "Chingy" and do you know that "Chingy" is a very famous black rapper (hip hop) artist in America? Well I thought it was humorous, because he's a wannabe gangster and you are a wannabe kung fu "master."

"Negro Hybrids" - Does this mean we are more fuel efficient, hahaha.

"Racist" remarks are just a small sampling of your overall emotional state. See many in china are malnourished and nutrition has a proven scientific effect on intelligence.

  • Chingy: Number 1 and not that it matters, but I'm not "white" -- I'm black-cuban-irish, American. So there's that.

Also, I was being humorous while you have been agitated and self-righteous -- I was being critical of this martial art because I've been training and teaching for 20 years. Three cities in my county have paid me to train their police/sheriff - I've also trained sever Elite Military (Navy Seals and Delta Force) in hand-to-hand.

You sir are a racist :)

    Chingy is HipHip artist

  • cool

  • Chingy: Look other people will visit this page, they will see whose comments I'm linked too, they will read your "immature" comments, then they will follow my link.

Youtube search: "Russell Peters - Asians"

Russell is Asian, he is making fun of the funny way Asians speak english -- when these folks get to the part where he immitates a Vietnamese guy cursing they'll think back on your posts and have a laugh on you :)

You'd get it too, but "humor" is not your bag.

    Wanker

  • xingyiquan: copy and past the below link after the "/" at the end of youtube(dot)com

Then answer this question -- are you Vietnamese, because your "cursing" makes no sense -- Juvenile :)

  • Xingyiquan: Obviously "peace" and "respectful" banter is not part of your training :)

Good Luck with that Anger Management

"u ingnorant asshole" -- Who gets worked up over "text" and "words"? An immature freshman (novice).

  • It seems like the guy in red uses more palm than the fists.

Is it because the distance is closer so it is more effective?

  • This looks choreographed. Either that, or the guy with the black stripe has no idea or training in how to actually fight a resisting opponent.

  • Actually, if you watch some of the other videos, you realize that the guy in red is just a beast and most of his opponents are scrubs.

  • Yes you can tell it's choreographed -- I like it because choreographed moves rarely have the "sloppy look" of real fighting -- however, the fact that they are passing it off as real is the "brilliance" of chinese culture and kung fu. Why you'll never ever see a top notch chinese fighter in any field other than olympic wrestling and even then they'll rarely win Gold.

  • those stances crack me up , it was so easy for that guy to do sweeps . the other guy no matter how many times his leg got caught he still opened everything with a kick . this really was an unfair match .

  • How come there were no elbows? That's the main part of BajiQuan and I saw nothing of it.

  • I'm assuming personal preference, or that the situation didn't call for it. Another reason might be that they were in a competition with no gear on, so maybe it was a safety rule for that competition.

  • Oh I c.

do you say that elbow attacks may be too deadly for a match?

  • in traditonal gong fu you can face a opponent bigger then you too.

  • good

  • Both of em are bajis. watch their stances. This is real and reality isnt as beautiful as form showcasing. Most of the Baji form training i seen here show techniques that requires space for stepping to generate power . If u ask me, If I wanna use the powerful baji punch,I prefer a stance with boxing-like footwork for mobility to create space and easier to time an attack.

  • By standing in mabu you train your legs so that you can move them fast from mabu, by shifting and moving while in position.. train that and you won't need boxing stance, only mabu. (Horse stance)

  • LOL this isnt bajiquan at all wtf?

  • if hermit would have seen this he would be ashamed where is the wulong panda??!?!?!???

  • WTF ? ! ? the real Ba Ji Quan not as scary as the comic book. this is suck

  • :))

if a guy blown in one single attack, that would be no so interesting, I think...

  • with that kind of movement ? impossible ! ! !

  • some of its attacks are indeed too dangerous for a match... Here, it used for point-based match instead of KO-ing opponent.

But correct me if I'm wrong.

    =3

  • if he has that kind of skill, he'll already used it. I know what kind of attacked which can blown people in one blow, I've seen taichi, Baqua,Wuzuquan, hsing-yi, they all can do that, and when they do that they shared tha same principle

about elbow attack, they aren't in a good position to do that

  • For the monolingual, which guy does which art?

  • the guy in red is bigger, it's unfair.

  • Looks like face strikes aren't allowed...I'm surprised the baji fighter is standing so high...

  • ya, no head hit in rules

  • Lol he got the red guy out of the ring one time.. The red guy is good...
