  • They remind me of mine one girl one boy and they come to me for food

  • awww so cute!!! What chubby little guys >w<

  • Can ducks hurt you? I know this may be an unintelligent question but do they peck or perhaps scratch you? Are they harmless? I'd like to get one as a pet...

  • @kibaLclaire they do peck esp the boys some but not all of that can be trained out with consistent around the clock attention and training, and yes they have claws so you can get scratched too, for more info before getting a pet duct to go and read this site ... mrflapper (dot) com / blog / want-a-pet-duck

  • How are their coats so clean?

  • When are u gonna eat them

  • they r cute!! but the baby voices how could you ??? those beatutiful piibydi tata cuchyy ku petit pataons...

  • what are they eating

  • @BananaTheCockatiel Alex and Bianca LOVED LOVED to have chopped up lettuce and cabbage in a bowl of water - for an extra yummy treat we would add chopped tomatoes.

  • Metzer Farms website has great information about raising ducks.

  • beautiful ducks

  • No, you cannot potty train a duck or a chicken, birds are designed with no muscle to hold there waste in with, so they just go when it comes out. The only way to keep one in doors, without caging it, which would be inhumane, is to diaper it. Yes, you can diaper a duck, start when they are young to get them used to it.

  • omg how cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • aww they are adorable! makes me miss my duck : (

  • Maybe this is a silly question but I really don't know:

Can ducks be toilet trained? I think it's really awesome to keep ducks and chickens as pets but the problem is (isn't it?) that they poop everywhere :(

  • ducks and chickens can NOT be toilet trainned - birds have no sphincter muscle - They do however have duck diapers but you have to train your ducks early with the diaper. so yes poop everywhere

  • Ah I see. I didn't know that. I think ducks and geese are up there with dogs as my favourite pets :) I'd love to have a geese for a pet. They're so adorable. Gotta solve that poop problem though if they're to be indoors.

  • @thibaulthalpern That is why they are outdoor pets for the most part. You keep hem inside for the first few weeks of their lives in a enclosed area for easy cleanup.

  • @thibaulthalpern thats why you put diapers on them?

  • How soft do they feel?

  • @beautywolfy - yes, soft feathers ...

  • that was really sweet! you can see the care you have for your ducks and pets. any updates? how long do domesticated ducks live and how much care do they need? are they OK with winters?

  • Our ducks are doing well - we have moved to a place that has more grass and they love it. Domestic Ducks require ALOT of care. They are flock birds and need love and attention, and protection, they need to be fed and watered twice a day and we keep a kiddie pool for them which needs to be kept clean. For being such beautiful animals they can be messy messy messy. Our duck are fairly climatized and they are LARGE so that helps, but when it get really cold we have a heat lamp.

  • Oh and they live to be about 20yrs!!! - Taking on ducks was huge responsibility. But we love them

  • I might be getting a duck soon and I have a few questions. When I feed them things like chopped lettuce do I have to put it in a bowl of water or should I have a seperate bowl next to the food for the water. One more thing. I'm still in high school, so should I leave the radio on while my house is empty so my duck can have something to listen to?

  • @BNVshark123 :: If you are thinking about getting a duckling, you might want to get two or more. Two are easier to care for than one because ducks are very social flock birds. In fact in the state we live in it is illegal to buy just one duckling. (They can get very loney...) Two keep each other company which is especially helpful when they become adults. (at about 16-20 weeks of age)

  • Thank you.

  • @BNVshark123 :: Nutrition is very important for duck health. They can not survive on lettus and veggies - those are just suppliments to their diet. Our ducks eat flock feeder (Purina Duck Chow - flock feeder) now in crumble. Which we purchase at a local farm supply store

  • @BNVshark123 your best bet is to have another duck or animal there for your duck to have as a companion, as ducks are very social birds. I recommend getting the other animal used to the duck before putting them together.

  • Ducks are cool.

  • your backyard is like a forest....

  • reply to nothingnothing15: LOL - no not really, but we do have nice tree coverage. :-)

  • ducky14528:: YES they are fat ducks, but happy and healthy - - - - fuzzysquirrelsnuts:: we only spoil them sometimes

  • chargerondavins::: yes, we are aware they are notoriously bad mothers. However, Bianca will "nest" her egg in or around her duck house in the pen. We were/are so proud of her for that knowing what we know about the mothering instint having been breed out. Our ducks are in a pen at night, we collect our one egg per day soon after being laid.

  • Haha, I have ducks too. 2 pekins and a mallard x]

  • Very nice! You got a pair there, a boy and a girl. In case you don't know, pekins are TERRIBLE mothers and often crush the eggs b4 the hatch anyway... which brings me to my next point at night they will get eaten by raccoons if the nest is outside and they done crush them, which is impossible.}

  • JUST GOT ONE FOR EASTER

  • aw! they are fat....my are fat but not as fat as them...and yes, being fat for a duck is a good thing....lol

  • Looks like you are spoiling your ducks. Nice video.

  • I just got a pet duck today instead of a puppy & it wants to be held all of the time :) Can you give me any advice on how to raise a good duck:) I love both of your ducks!! Sooo cute :)

  • it's true the feathers are so soft and white and fluffy...like meringue or chiffon...

  • I love everything about these birds. I grew up on a pond and just last year (i am long gone from there) six came to live on the pond. When i go home to visit i enjoy seeing them so much. I love their little rears how they look like the fluffiest of wedding dresses!!

  • Too Cool!!! I love to discover other Quack-Heads!!! Check out Pet Ducks R Us on Yahoo!!! We always welcome new members to the group!!! Lots if info there for raising pet ducks!!! (')<
