What is "actual wrestling"? Without a good story or strong characters, wrestling is just people pretending to fight. The Attitude Era had the best characters and the edgiest content. Of course it was better. Stone Cold drinking a beer and flipping people off was great, DX coming out in blackface to mock the Nation was great, Rock cutting 6 minute promos in front of an electric crowd was great. The stuff going on today is pretty bland milquetoast stuff.

"Actual Wrestling" is when two guys can go into the ring, tell a story, and get a crowd on their feet.  The Attitude Era would have fallen apart if it didn't happen to have some of the best wrestlers, there's that word again, in the world at the time. The Rock, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, all had great characters. But they were all at the top because they could WRESTLE. It's one of the reasons HHH still deserves to be on top. Because he can wrestle(his promo's suck though).
