  • R u guys paid or Voli. I'm on MFD No.1 In NY

  • @Therunandgunn we are a paid ALS deparment and currently running 2 stations with 1 engine company at each....we also run a 70' platform, brush truck, marine unit, and a fire command unit out of station 1 as needed....

  • Well the song wont be annoying if you turn it low..

  • @BlAhHaDaBoY123 i originally had "Voices" by Disturbed but youtube blocked it so i had to use Bodies instead of some gawdawful song on youtubes list....

  • @mikegamez77 But it's still a good video

  • let the bodies hit the MUTE

  • @firewacker432 feel free but ull be the first... ;-)

  • @mikegamez77 and last lol :D

  • I love these drills so fun especially when it's like 100 degrees out side lol no its not really fun it wears your ass out fast

  • and knowin me i would have blown thru that tank walking up those steps and back down thats why i pump the truck

  • how does one prepare yourself for FF training?

  • @xXBirDEXx125 u really cant its honestly better go thru your fire 1 or section 1 class rather then learn it at drill night yes its grea to learn with friends but the instructors that train you are the best of the best at what thye do just make sure u keep calm and study and u will be fine ohh and one more thing HAVE COMMON SENCE!!!

  • We did this at our fd and ill tell you yat thats been the funnest trainin nights ive had

  • oh screw that noise we just did that a couple weeks ago, no exactly that but the same drill

  • All I can say to the people who think this is a "pussy" job or isn't "real"....all you got to do is sign up at a volunteer dept. and give it a try! Throw on some bunker gear, strap on an SCBA, grab you a hoseline...and go fight some fire! That sounds pretty easy, right?!

  • when i had my first "smoked out training" we filled the training center with smoke and theres 3 floors, they tought us how to hydro vent, and basically everything here lol. its tough but i love it

  • ok now do it with and old scba the yellow aluminum

  • we were running air cons. drills, and after three of the four guy's involved low air alarms went off, we got hit for a house fire, rolling up (delayed) to a working 2200 sq. ft. house with 50% involvement to the second floor, and fully extended into the attic... needless to say, we burned the roof off of that one

  • a valid point made there my friend....

this hasnt yet happened to us but it has been brought to the attention of the officers.

This drill hasnt been performed as of late but if it is, proper hydration and energy conservation is a must if performing on duty....

this drill could also be practiced off duty but then again overtime compensation would come into play and we all know how the city feels about paying out overtime thats avoidable :-)

  • i love to do air consumption drills they are a blast

  • as a career FF, i can say that ZRETT7T is a fuckin' faggot, and both of you hit one or both of the nails on the head with him not bein' able to make the cut, or his old lady runnin' off with a FF... also, as a FF that's had this happen because our "training officer" is a fuckin' faggot as well, i can say that i hope this company isn't in service and expected to turn out immediately on the first response if they get a call...

  • Great training video besides the lame music.

  • ya i actually had Voice by Disturbed on there and the scenes and cuts went wuth the beat but YouTube blocked it.....

  • @crustXcore he fuck you that sounds bad ass , but they did say it was a different sound then what it really is in the credits

  • This was awesome! I am in cadet training now and next month we have our consumption drill. Breath until your out of air and that mask is suctioned on your face! This video give me the courage to move forward. thank you so much! "Once a firefighter, always a firefighter"

  • Awesome training!! I am going to do this next time I am at the station!!

  • GREAT FUCKING VID! ROCK ON!

  • zrett, looking at your recent activity in your profile, all you do is roam about youtube and post negative comments about the fire service...sounds much more challenging than what firefighters do....doesnt matter, your comments mean nothing since your just a p.o.s out for some type of revenge since u couldnt cut it as one of us...

  • LMFAO its true xD

Im a Firefighter In Ontario :]

We did that drill yesterday and the day before

  • i thought I had been a little harsh. Looking at thsi video again made me realize.. you guys should see it for what it is, ie, keep fit, sleep or play games on shift till an alarm sounds, scream around the city making lotsa noise, drown the fucking house with fire. Leave the houseowners to 'salvage' what might be left (maybe a life jacket is the only thing) then back to the hall to snore and wonder if ... enough.... fucking posers!

  • guess your fire wont be put out... they will show but they will laugh there ass off and then go back to the hall and sleep..

  • @zrett or what ever the fuck your name is what is your idea of a ( real job ) what the fuck you have no idea what we go through puting 50 pounds of gear on to go to a fire in a highrise and go to the 10th floor to search for occupents! Or getting up at 3am to put out a car fire. Really if we were not around so many people would be out of a home or dead. Get some respect or keep your fucking mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice Video.

I remember doing this for the first time and when that mask sucks in and sticks against your nose well man...

    But Nothing like it

I would never give it up

  • zrett7t obviously you've never been in a air pack, or for that matter ever even been around a fire scene. you need to have a little respect. what are you gonna do if your house is fully involved and you cant get out. bet you might have a different opinion about us than, wouldnt you.

  • @zrett7t are you serious right now? i'd like to see you do rescue inside a fully involved structure. you would probably be hiding off in a corner screaming mayday over the radio. and what do you mean by "real job" this is as real as it gets, we live for running into burning buildings to save lives and property, you don't get that rush from pushing buttons all day.

  • continued: and if your saying that construction or something similar is a "real job" then what happens if the building that someone built burnt down with no one to put it out, or the road you paved has a MVA and there was no one to clear it.

  • continued: you need think before you talk shit buddy, if it wasn't for us i'm pretty sure you life would be a hell of a lot different. and maybe one day you will realize that were here putting our lives on the line EVERY DAY so that you can live your life the way that you do. maybe you should start appreciating it now instead of when you really need our help.

  • oh yeah, real work..thse bozos should get a real job. Guess they are in training for being a hero. What a laugh.. !

    bozos.

  • its okay my friend, you are entitled to your opinioons and dont worry, your disbelief in firefighters wont prevent us from cutting you or your family out of a car after a vehicle accident, it wont keep us from pulling you or your family out of a house when u have been overcome by smoke, it wont hinder our efforts to throw some AED pads on any of your chests and shock your heart back into rythym and allow you to live to yet another day with the lack of respect.

  • We make a positive impact on our communities everyday and through that alone, drives us to continue :-)

  • @zrett7t Are you fucking kidding me? This is pictures and small clips. Do you have any idea of how hard this job is? It is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world and one of the hardest. Fucking idiot.

  • @zrett7t By the way, There pack of air will run out in 14 hours.

  • @zrett7t , Judging by your un-educated idiotic comment, i assume you have no idea what you are talking about...or how hard it is to maneuver and perform strenuous activities in all of that heavy gear. It is even harder in 1000+ degree temps. You would probably cry. AND BY THE WAY, judging from the amount of people that I have seen and been involved with rescuing from fires and accidents in my short 3 years as a firefighterr... I would say that the job is very necessary.

  • @zrett7t i really fucking hope ur house catches on fire and the FFs that respond just let u burn inside of it

  • if u happen to run out of air what you do is some departments train to hit the floor and take a finger or two to open the seal of the mask and crawl your way out just do what you are trained to do

  • if u get u gear wet it will burn faster right?

  • our gear gets soaked with water half the time we are in houses fighting fire. it happens when we have to shoot water into attic spaces and if your supporting the hose under the nozzleman as he's aiming up and into the access hole, the water isnt forgiving as it comes raining down on you. it doesnt make the gear burn faster by any means .i think it may kind of help lol since the water would absorb the surrounding heat and just simply evaporate off the gear before allowing the gear itself to burn.

  • *******For future comments, be advised that the bottles used in the video are 4500psi, 30 minute bottles********

  • okay so once you run out of air what are you suppose to do? i realize its an air tight seal and had someone shut off my air on me and it is probably equivilant to breathing in space

just wondering what the training protocol is on completly running out of air?

    thanks

  • usually these drills are primarily used for evaluation purposes - to evaluate your conditioning why performing firefighter tasks...

this drill is a timed drill so once u run out of air, your time is up and then u can pull your mask off....

all in all, its just to see how much u can work using a single bottle of air before having to refill....

the longer the time, the better conditioning you have, as long as the amount of work performed during that time stays the same or increases...

  • MDFR training is alot harder then that. Its not hard to be a firefighter just have to pay attention and do everything the right the first time.

  • how hard is it to become a firefighter

  • Hard.

  • not hard at all man as long as you have it in your heart to be a firefighter...you will never stop learning new things...as a starting point, some fire departments have a "ride-along" program where you can ride on the trucks to calls and experience what we do on a day-to-day basis...its a good way to get your feet wet and decide if this is really for you....gl!

  • if you can join a volunteer department and get your primary training and see if it is something you still want to do, it is a great thing to do if you are in it

  • lol vito

  • PIMP! hey man long time...will be on bf2 in 30 days...will be closing on my new house soon!

  • we do something similar to this, we start out running around the station 2 times, climb a ladder run across the roof down a ladder on the other side back up the ladder and across the roof, down the first ladder, then run around the building 2 more times, we have to try and get under 5 minutes.

  • hmm sounds pretty risky going up and down ladders from roof height fully bunkered out especially when you start getting really exhausted just for conditioning evaluation, but thats just my opinion...

  • The roof isnt that high off the ground and its flat so no worries about sliding off of it.

  • ahh gotcha, seems it would be pretty demanding once you do a few evolutions...good conditioning

  • im a jr firefighter (spark) this looks hard, im only allowed to put on my turnout gear and ride the truck, and train

  • ya thats good....in the fire service, training and education never ceases....BEWARE of those who "know it all"....

  • Just did this on Saturday. I still feel like curling back up in bed for another day or so.

  • Thanks alot for sharing, turns out someone just suggested this to us at Firefighter One class few weeks ago, and were gonna be doing this in another week, now I know what to expect, thanks again.

  • How big are these bottles 45 minutes

  • these bottles fill to 4500 psi and are 30 min but you get around 20 min huffin & puffin work time out of them lol

  • Yea thats the size carbon fiber we use unfortunatley we still have a ton of those heavy ass aluiminum ones to

  • we are a city fire department...the county fire department uses the same air pack we use but they have the 45 min bottles...when i first saw their bottles, they are composite just like ours but are a bit larger and remind me of the 2216 psi bottles used in the MSA air packs like we used in fire standards...

  • When we did this in my academy our air packs were freezing because of how fast we sucked down a bottle lol. Some people were done in like ten minutes.

  • looks like you guys have a great pt program...

  • Love it

    mhanson51

  • It would be even better if they let me use Voices for the soundtrack like i had it instead of blocking it....pfff at the blockers but thanks for the comment!
