@Semisai dun u know how much SMART TUNNEL solves da flood problems in M'sia?? we as a civil engineering stdnt know how much it worth for malaysia development. plz change da way u think, only see a negative side compare than positive side..

maybe they do? not sure, to catch all the rubbish and twigs...but again, smart tunnel is sort of an emergency water irrigation system that deals with large amount of water for a short period of time, the extra costs might not be justified this way...
and about drinking water... tap water is processed before reaching your home and the water source is not from the city, usually from a pristine water source away from the city, eg a dam at the countryside
the stormwater travelling through the SMART tunnel was not treated and therefore would be a hazard to the well being of the people in Kuala Lumpur in the long run..

composition of storm water...water...mud...rubish and misc.... not as bad as say...sewerage... so its not a big concern

Yeah but wouldn't having a simple filtration system at the end of the tunnel give a big advantage in the long run?
The quality of water that escapes the tunnel will go full circle and end up in your glass anyway wouldn't it?
