  • I saw this film three times and now I will watch it again :D

  • I got so many goosebumps that I've become a goose.

  • como te hace reflexionar lo vivido, muy buena musica-arte.

  • All Under Heaven

  • what instruments are being used besides the erhu?

  • This music itself is trying to tell something. awesome

  • I hate myself for taking so long to see the film.

  • this is such, a good soundtrack, I don't even know why, im usually not one of these people who listens to instrumentals, but, this is good

  • si, realmente es una de las mejores, bella y con un gran mensaje

  • Voyage au coeur des vraies racines chinoises

  • a masterpiece of kungfu and art

  • film full of art

  • its so peaceful

  • STORM!!! STORM!!! STORM!!!

  • is it just me or is the picture slowly zooming in and the wood individually moving?

  • @amacdonald27 not just you, it's zooming

  • the great thing about this movie is how it moved me through the events, the movie starts as an action movie, you think it's just going to be one of those movies where the hero kills 10000 soldiers to get to the boss, then you start seeing things different as the movie goes on, in short, by the time this movie ends, you get a much better realization, of life..

  • @edgarmaan u sir, can sucketh my ass

  • i love it....... luckly i hv seen this movie, only for 15min, & i cried.......... after 2year i felt tears on my cheek, & i become fan f this movie, its awsome......... great.....

  • crap that was a 2 yr old thread sorry. pay no attention

  • This movie is honestly one of the most beautiful movies of all time

  • enchanting

  • Our Land.

  • @MosieurLeBon

I always thought that made no sense... Then I found out more correctly it translates "All Under Heaven" And that just sounded so much more poetic and made more sense within the context of the film,

  • whoa...if you stare at it long enough..it's like it's opening up!!!!!!

    making me a bit woozy....8D

  • I feel the rhythm of this song, i love it. Anybody who disagrees with their lifestyle will come to change and realize what makes them happy. I believe they should follow that. this is what the song tells me.

  • thanks

  • this song brings back great memories...

i love the beat of the song...

this song takes me back to china...

  • this song ROCKS ! :D

  • The best parts were the part where Snow and Nameless were fending off the arrows, when Snow fought Moon in the leaves, and when Nameless and Broken Sword fought in their minds on the water. Epic.

  • where can i download the whole ost?

  • @animeloved buy it

  • This movie was tiiiiiiiiiiight.

  • Can anyone remind me what Broken Sword wrote down in calligraphy for Nameless to give to the Emperor again?

  • @Achowbo 'our land'

  • @emerald764 thanks much :D

  • @Achowbo "Tian xia", (all) under heaven, which means China as a united whole...;)

  • @Tangren02 OH YEAH thanks! :)

  • @Achowbo you're welcome

  • Put em in a body bag!!!! YEEEEEAAAAAH!!!!

  • this movie made me cry:( but sweet music!

  • yeah, same here. Mostly at the emperor palace scene, where broken sword and snow were fighting up the stairs to King of Qin.

  • Best Music! Awesome

  • OMG OMG OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH O_O

  • How is it called the main instrument for this song?

  • @kanutops Erhu

  • @pawoon Might be violin

  • Thanks a lot pawoon

  • @kanutops Definitly erhu.

  • @AguBV: Thanks for the info!

  • I think that it is a cello

  • Hero has one of the best Chinese music in there that it just makes me want to cry. SOB!

  • almost made me cry ffs :( i love this kind of music damn makes me wonder

  • @darkusul - what about what, bro? :)

    yes, powerful mujik, i say.

  • Amen my dear friend. Yet i find it ironic that in this day in age of technology and many conviences, our conception to the value of the word has changed dramaticly. No longer does the words that comfort us bring hope and joys. The word peace no longer means peace, it is simply a word tossed into the fray of two commanders and their selfish pride, fully expendable.

If only people could understand the story of Hero more than just what they see and take it to heart.

  • @zk4tw - the real beauty is how the dude *WROTE* it down in sand. just imagine what he would have written down (in calligraphy, that too), to denote those two powerful words. how beautiful would those symbols me, to get such a strong reaction out of our hero? that part of the movie took my breath away. *sigh*

  • @Scott17quebec

you just got my thumbs up

  • @TheGooberment well that's nice to hear :)

  • @Scott17quebec no i don't agree with you. and i think this is another standart comment?

  • Hero has the most beautiful soundtrack of all time, by far... This is why it's one of my favourite movie. Haunting, beautiful, brilliant...

  • Tan Dun ftw!!

  • Hero was such a great film, and I know one of the reasons i loved it was for the music

  • @hemansx Encore!

  • @hemansx The music, the picture, and the story made it one of the best movies ever. International a way too under-rated

  • muy buena rola

  • Tan Dun is a genie

  • This music is gentle and muscular at the same time. It is also inspiring and captivating. I am just hooked on it.

  • I just love Tan Dun! you guys should also try listening to Yann Tiersen! And maybe if you're into heavy cello stuff try listening to Apocalyptica!

  • listening to this song is one of the only things that keeps me at peace

    and so does smoking bud

  • i blast my car stereo with this music.

  • Really? LOL!! Do people look at you strange?

  • lol good choice

  • so what does that have to do with how awsome this ost is?!

  • i tried to download the soundtrack but i can't find it anywhere.

    somone knows ?

    thanks...

  • download it from youtube mp3

  • One of the best movies i've ever seen! Amazing...

  • Agreed

  • Agreed, its so, inspirational

  • The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of a mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one...said Wilhelm Stekel

  • A psychologist turned philosopher:) Sometimes its the other way around.

  • Love this music! It's so haunting.

  • good song

  • where do i get the sound track

  • A mighty warrior marching after winning a war is classic western protrayal of triumph. Leading a throng of warrior greeted by jubilant crowds. But true portrayal is that of Nameless' march (Jet Li) with peace in his heart proudly facing death. This I will teach my son.

  • interesting O_o

  • really....now

  • that's cause you are western duh. u guys will inevitably have this stereotype against chinese intentional or not.

  • umm.. why do you want to teach your son to march proudly facing death?

how about you just make sure he doesn't get into gangs and gets an education? realistically, very few people need to teach their kids this "zen-like eastern peace of the mind" crap.

no matter how you slice it, when the good guy dies, the bad guys win. teach your son to win. that's what Mr. Miyagi says lol. so which Asian do you subscribe to? Jet Li, or Mr. Miyagi?

  • hahaha ...mr myagi..

  • AT THE END OF THE DAY.... different cultures have different ways of life so lets just respect it in that manner... neither eastern or western culture is right or wrong (depends)- we all live in the same, small, blue marble....

  • no, they are both right.

  • You are correct Alban. To live peacefully is ideal. Everyone wants their children to prosper and live in peace. But sometimes circumstances dictate otherwise, and if the time came to march for the good of a cause they strongly believe in, then they should face their end with pride in their lives.

Life isn't black/white. Life isn't peaches and cream. Life is a balance of peace and war.

  • @FuturisticXXL

Why should we respect other cultures just because they're different?

I'm not going to respect an african tribe's 'culture' of slaughtering eachother and cutting fetuses out of pregnant women with machetes.

  • @Orthrus Yeah, cause its not like Western society hasn't ever committed horrible atrocities on a massive scale never seen anywhere in human history. Oh wait...

  • @IneptTroopr

Then you have obviously missed the point completely.Find me an American that respects American Slave/Black culture from a mere forty years ago. You'll have a hard time doing it, because people consider it shitty behavior in today's culture.

Welcome to reality, it's called social progress.

  • @Orthrus You disrespect the will of the gods at your own peril, friend.

  • @fredrikhcs

    Are you joking mate?

  • @Orthrus Yes.

  • @FuturisticXXL so true.

  • @FuturisticXXL This small blue marble is unusually big...

  • @FuturisticXXL Clearly, in some issues, somebody has to be wrong.

  • ...What's to be won?

  • not enough nowadays with the 3rd world war on the loom and besides how boring and mundane would that be "education" just seeks to turn one into a drone and further surpress an infinitley powerful conciousness i do agree with you on the gang part though the mob and pack mentality is just one more behavioural trait that holds us back as a species

  • education isn't as much a tool by upper echelons of society as it would be a chance for people to learn lessons about human behavior and power and corruption.

if you've read enough adequate material, you learn to question and investigate. these kinds of habits really take meaning when a person can educate themselves. without the information to jump from, we're just idiots chasing our own tails.

mob mentality shares no coincidence when it comes to the less educated from my experience.

  • Yes it is a tool by the higher ups in fact its the perfect excuse to take your child away for six to seven hours of the day and condition to accept whatever reality fits with an agenda. School is where the mob mentality is reinforced to the utmost degree; not only do they want everyone to dress alike they also want everyone thinking alike. Mr myagi did NOT say win by the way he say win or lose it doesnt matter as long as you've made your point and stood your ground.

  • i just don't agree with your idea about the way schools are "conditioning" children in a negative way. uniforms in school have proven to produce better test scores.

i think you're just being really paranoid about "agendas". conspiracy theorists are forever baned with never knowing, because the harsh truth is too much to stomach and they need an easy answer.

  • yeah uniforms improve test scores fuckwad. it's been proven and documented and is why even public schools are adopting it. because kids arent wasting their time trying look cool for the other kids. when you all have the same clothes on, you have more important things to focus on, like i dunno maybe what you're being taught?

individualism? lol. we only have the rest of our lives to dress how we want. spare me the 13 year old kids that think they're Johnny Rotten

  • i agree....uniforms improve test score...

  • Comment removed

  • Oh im paranoid with conspiracy theories

1)complete erosion of quality in US education

2)decadenece of both pop culture and media

3)poisons in our food which are giving us cancer and other diseases

    4) economic collapse

5)two completly aimless and blatanly manipulated wars

    6) sudden pandemic

    7) toxic enviroment

There's no conpiracy ITS BEING DONE RIGHT IN OUR FACES!!!!! if there is nothing sinister going on then human beings must just be one unlucky bunch of beast

  • it's more complex than you could ever understand.

if it was "complete erosion" then why do we still have a decent educational standard by comparison with 80% of the world? you act as if anything in your list is new or hasn't been seen before.

sudden pandemic? wow. you prove your paranoia by assuming that any of this is out of the ordinary.

you remind me of that moronic woman that filmed the rainbow in her sprinkler systems water. "what's in our water?!" it's the spectrum you idiot.

  • 'bangs head on the table'

  • you need to take a chill pill

  • @visualkei72 I agree with some of your points, but you have to admit, our education system is going to shit. We used to use tests to gauge the intelligence of our youth, now we just educate them to do well on the tests so schools don't get their funding cut. Its all stupidly abstract and promotes uncritical memorization, rather than relevant education.

And comparing the US with countries of the same economic and development level, we tend to rank towards the very bottom.

  • @visualkei72

As a member of the current educational system, I can tell you it is not working at all. Schools get no funding, teachers are laid off, class sizes increase, dropouts increase, and failures in primary education leave secondary education teachers with students who don't know anything.

If we invest more in our schools and less in trying to blow up other people or regulate the impossible, then maybe we have a chance at increasing test scores and overall competency.

  • @jesusiscool2

sorry that that had nothing to do with tan dun's score. Absolutely brilliant, and a fantastic movie. But maybe if we had proper educational systems, I'd know that none of these sentences used correct grammar. wait......

  • @jesusiscool2 it's failing yes, but you can't say it's a failure altogether. i know somebody very close to me that works in the system, and she shares the same opinions as you. it sucks that its pretty much true.

  • @teched246 Sure, there's going to be some indoctrination and disciplining in school (which isn't always a bad thing, as youth have to adjust to deal with people and groups for the rest of their lives). However, a good education is the best way to promote critical thinking, and give us the tools to analyze, and therefore have a more sophisticated understanding of the world, and how to change it. Whether of not the US education system can be called "good', is another matter though...

  • @visualkei72 Pretty sure the West does its share of romanticizing the whole "going out in a blaze of glory", and "dying for a noble cause" thing as well. I mean, look at Jesus, for Christ's (haha) sake.

  • @leenot i enjoy your comment. live on. i will hope for you and all others alike.

  • @leenot Ideology such as that my friend wants to teach his son too. Problem is not at the ideology. Problem is at the way the society is. W/o a fertile ground, a beautiful flower can't bloom properly. Our society is not fertile. Not in a sense that it used to be back then...

  • @leenot Like any girl would let you knock her up.

  • I've watched this film again and again. Each time a thought of anger, bitterness, revenge pop up in my mind, I listen to this music and I'm pacified. Greatest movie of all time only for those fascinated with humanity. Thanks for the upload.
