  • pls someone answer me..... i do 30/30sec intervals and tabata stuff to.. and my spm gets up to 90 sometimes but the /500 has been 1:40 ish at best (only for a few strokes) im i not applying my body in the right way... or does someone holding the rower help maintain the power.. and i also noticed all these rowers wear running trainers i wear thin soled ones.. just clutching at straws really (i know i shud probably video my technique)

  • @BodomChildBreeder That is all down to technique. On the ergo it is everything. There are some good videos on youtube to show this. Perfect it at the low stroke rates, then it will be in muscle memory at the high ones. My guess is you are doing the common mistake where you move backwards, but the handle isn't moving at the same time so you lose the first part of the drive.

The people holding the rower are just to stop it moving forward when you put that much power down.

  • @Flyingmad2007 thanks very much.. its actually coming on now, im kinda learning when to tense and relax my core now and am reailsing just how much thought has to go into each stroke for it to be perfect.. ive never done it ona boat that must eb even harder
