Grand Theft Jesus the Hijacking of Religion in America.
-----------------
I would recomend this book to anyone, including Atheists and Agnostics. Read it twice already, when I got the book I finished reading it in 4 days.
I wonder what the Christian right reaction to the book is.
The problem is, Christianity is a failed religion, I know there are a lots of Christians about but the message of Jesus has failed to get through to people, there are not many true Christians about.
to be a true and prosper CHRISTIAN you must get out of the religious living and establish a RELATIONSHIP with Christ cause Christianity is the only RELIGION if u call it that way that is looked at as a minority group in communities,in the eyes of Jesus the only "religion" that matters not catholics etc Christianity isnt a failed religion. so sorry if u were ever given the impression it was the chruch i go to isnt looking for quantity in its people but quality to hold it down for no matter what!!
Save America, start by kicking the Christian Right (I talking about YOU Pat Robertson and James Dobson), right out of the public square AND out of Christianity!
This made me LOL! I love God and I do not fear anyone else's religions because I may not understand them. I think Jesus tried to tell us not to judge others that doesnt mean we are not to keep a look out for those who might intend us or our children harm (that may come from someone you trust even) still its all about what he said to Love One Another, and if we would just do what he said there would be peace in the world and enough to eat for everyone. Jesus loved humanity, we should too.
You hit the nail right on the head. Here's my two cents: I feel that personally the Saviour is in my life, and He has helped me when face with some scary New Age hocus pocus. But what I feel from the Saviour is love and that's it. I feel Him more when not in this society. In Mexico, Europe and Russia, the churches feel ok. I don't feel ok in many American protestant churches. There's something different here - aggressive.
Thank you Pastor! I am sick of all the people hiding behind Matther 7:1 "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Meaning, don't judge anyone or their behavior,it's all ok! It makes me want to puke. Of course I must judge. Right from wrong. Behaviors that measure to the standard of God's word. We are told to correct another's beahvior with LOVE .... help them identify their sin...NOT GET MARRIED to it!The Gate is small and the path narrow...we all have a lay down the flesh each day to pick up the Cross!
Taking off my judgement hat was liberating and I leave that to God now I recommend it for everyone. It's ok to hang out with people you feel comfortable with but I try to have compassion, tolerance, coexistence with others. I feel better knowing it's not my place to judge, and I am not going to cast the first stone. If they have no ill intent towards me or my family I respect others in freedom and good will. It's not my place to judge other people's sins, that's between them and God.
The video is great but now that I've read the BOOK "Grand Theft Jesus" I feel that the video doesn't do the book justice.
If you feel that Christianity has been hijacked by hucksters and used car salesmen you owe it to yourself to read the book.
Once you have, you will NEVER be able to look a preacher in the eye again without wondering where their values TRULY lie.
That's a GOOD thing.

aggressive is the word; Jesus never displayed anger against individuals, only against the organised church of His time. . .

This is so true. But Jesus did warn us it would happen. I'm not surprised. But I will be getting this book.
