@joshun28 Because it's representative of the bases of modern architecture, and it contains all of LeCorbusier 5 points of new architecture: pilotis, functional roof, free floor plan, long horizontal windows and freely-designed facades.
@seiya880 i believe a building ticking boxes of modern architecture's basic doesn't necessarily mean its a great building. Does a functional roof, horizantal windows makes a great building? in terms of design personally i believe this is a horrible building but then i was never a big fan of Le Corbusier...I prefer saying Louis.I.khan was more inspirational. well this is a personal point of view only
@joshun28 I totally agree with you, it doesn't mean it's a great building, but it's an iconic one, it's a very important piece in the architecture history, whether one likes it or not. Before visiting it in person, I never thought it was that big a deal, I didn't like it either. But going inside, seeing the use of space, of light, it was quite an experience, it's something you can't describe, you just have to do it by yourself. So if you ever happen to be near Paris, I suggest you go visit it!
Thank-you very much indeed for this video. I have been a fan of modern movement architecture for many years but have never been able to visit this interesting building. I have a book with the floor plans and I followed your route through the rooms... Thank-you once again.
