At the time that it was written less than 15% of the population could read and that percent was exclusively males in positions of trust and authority. Women were sitting in the high pews, while men sat in the sanctuary (lower pews). Paul reminded women to not shout comments/ questions to their husbands. It has nothing to do with women not speaking.
Pick and choose what you want to believe like all the world does, but it is not beyond GOD's ability to include that if that is what it meant, no, it meant what it said. Women, keep silent in the congregation.

Eph 5 shows the husband to love the wife and die for her but ALSO for the wife to submit to the husband, without question. I will add it is also in other scriptures.
Wives and husbands are NOT equal.. they are one but have different roles.
If you 'judge' what you're told as you say then God's Word DOES say submit to ur husband. There is no excuse, it's plain.

Before the admonition is given for wives to be subject unto their own husbands he first says to both sex'es 'submit yourselves one to another in the fear of God.'
Thus while women are commanded to respect their own husbands as to God,likewise men are commanded to love their wives unconditionally even as Messiah loved his church and gave himself for her.
In the end we will be judged by what we have done not for what others have done to us.
This doesn't mean that women are supposed to be treated as slaves. The Bible teaches husbands to love their wives, and treat them with complete respect.
I would make a suggestion - make eye contact with the camera. Looking away and/or down continuously makes you look "shifty", like even you are not convinced of the validity of what you're saying. Body language says it all.

A woman is to submit to her husband as the Church (the Bride of Christ) is to submit to Christ and a husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the Church. A Christian woman "submitting" to a man does not do so to glorify the man but to glorify Christ by submitting to his will and Scripture.

The divorce rate is almost 50% now in the US and children are more taken care of by day-care centers rather than their actual mothers. The term submission in the Christian sense has a logical social context that not many consider:
Marriage is a binding contract. In a Christian marriage the woman's "submission" must be met with the husband's "respect and protection".
Respect implies that the issue has been discussed between the partners. Protection implies that the man will make the best decision and will assume responsibility for the outcome.
Without respect and protection the woman is not obligated to submit.

However the problem is always in the interpretation, isn't it? Look at maxxout90's comment above -"women are often filled with pride" - what claptrap. If a woman finds herself subject to that kind of mentality she'd better seek support fast. But if the community around her is hamstrung by Christian (or muslim or jewish for that matter) orthodoxy, she may not get it.

The word submission, many scholars believe, also had a much simpler application: This was a time when women in Hebrew society could not engage in general commerce or trade. A woman could have money but had to have a male representative take care of her business affairs (Arabic culture was the same, this fact is what brought Muhammad to Medina) so the submission may have only applied to commerce, hence the respect and protection. Take note that I don't personally believe this theory.

Do you ever look for statistical data before claiming things? Divorce rates are actually down since 1990 to now. Marriage rates have also been going down as well. Seeing as how there are more outspoken non-religious people as days go by, the statistics are in complete contradiction to what youre saying. The stats also show that the highest divorce rates have been in the bible belt states... thinking that a fear of authority equals wisdom is outright stupidity

Without commenting on the reference to a supernatural being, it should be noted that men and women are not equal.
To prove this, next time there is a strange noise downstairs at night, see if your wife is equally as willing to investigate as you might be. You can also see if the time you spend in the shower is equal to the time she spends in the shower. Finally, if there is something really heavy to lift, let's see who is asked to lift it.

Pro athletes are segegrated by gender - for one reason: men and women are not equal.

It is interesting that hardly anyone complains that a man cannot join a women-only gym (of which there are 4 in my community - no men-only gyms by the way). That kind of discrimination is simply incredible, but not noticed. Men can walk around topless, but women break the law when they do - gender discrimination again, but hardly anyone complains. Oh well...

Corperal punishment is only abuse when it is greater than equal to the crime, as far as domestic discipline is concerned, it is not meant to fully repay (eye for an eye) a person for their crime, but rather to partially punish while correcting and enlightening the recipient. Abuse is doing something that violates fairness and in a relationship fairness must include mercy to match trust. I am on the side of love, not abuse. Women were sitting in the high pews, while men sat in the sanctuary (lower pews). Paul reminded women to not shout comments/ questions to their husbands. It has nothing to do with women not speaking.

Eph 5 shows the husband to love the wife and die for her but ALSO for the wife to submit to the husband, without question. I will add it is also in other scriptures.
Wives and husbands are NOT equal.. they are one but have different roles.
If you 'judge' what you're told as you say then God's Word DOES say submit to ur husband. There is no excuse, it's plain.

Thus while women are commanded to respect their own husbands as to God,likewise men are commanded to love their wives unconditionally even as Messiah loved his church and gave himself for her.
