its not BASE jumping and its not Bungee jumping you morons, its rast rope rappeling, and yeah, looks like a lame rip off to me. Im coming to NZ for 12 months in April, is there anywhere accessable to BASE jump on the South Island?.....is the a local BASE crew of jumpers in NZ anywhere, or is it still in the stone ages?

They advertise it as bungee jumping, however by the definition that I'm used to about bungee jumping, it doesn't fit. Bungee jumps you bounce back up and settle eventually, this thing puts you between 2 cables that control your decent speed and slow you down as you reach the platform. They say you will fall 71km/h (44mph), in actual free fall, after 80 feet (24 meters) you're traveling at 55 mph (89km/h). First 10 seconds you fall 1000 feet (305 meters).
