  • This rare gem was one of the beautiful songs that were dedicated in my son Makalans memory on 9-16&17-10 in Eugene, OR, who saddly passed away on 9-02-10. WITH HIS PASSING HE GAVE THE GIFT OF LIFE TO 3 STRANGERS, PHIL, ONLY IS ALIVE TODAY because of a liver transplant, FOREVER GRATEFUL TO U PHIL , FURTHUR!! when we were asked to name 2 songs to play, all I could say in my grief was IT HAD TO B SPECIAL, his OWN, both shows can b found at The Dead Archive.net WE MISS U,most touching show EVER RIP

  • @strawberrymak - so sorry to hear of your loss. This is a great song, definitely.

  • This was from the time when musicians on the west coast just gathered as friends and played. Says a lot about the times.

  • this is unreal........what a moving sound

  • I can't wait to see Furthur dod this in November. Nice video with the song as well.

  • Furthur finally gave this song its due last night in Eugene, marrying it up to the lyrics that Hunter, Croz, Jerry and Phil had written to accompany the awesome music they had just created....

"Who can stop what must arrive now?

Something new is waiting to be born..."

  • @StKnick I was there, in the pouring rain. It was the best night of my life, Phil killed the vocals, John wailed the solo, Chimenti was on fire. Right into Terrapin too. WOW.

  • wonderful.

  • "That's the stuff.."

  • anyone know where to get the tapes online?

  • what a great trip man! the banjo sounds awesome! they should have continued that project

  • FANTASTIC

  • I love it!!

    Thanks for sharing

  • Wow! Fun!!!

  • i'm pretty sure Crosby was apart of this as well.

  • I have this whole recording if you want it just PM me and we'll set up a trade. May NOT sell.

  • I read somewhere that this song was a remnant of the early days (63?) when garcia/kantner/crosby

thought about starting a band called PERRO

  • No, Garcia was not an original member it was Kanter Crosby and Frieberg's vision they had back in the 60's.

The rehearsal tapes made in 1971 featured David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Graham Nash, Michael Shrieve, Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, David Freiberg, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Neil Young, Jorma Kaukonen, Joni Mitchell, Laura Allan, Jack Casady, and Gregg Rolie.

  • 2/70 - 1/71, Wally Heider Recording Studio - San Francisco , Ca.

PERRO sessions "Planet Earth Rock N Roll Orchestra" , the musicians are Crosby , Garcia , Lesh , Hart , Slick , Kantner , Nash , Kaukonen , etc...

Download the complete set via RapidShare at:
