Wow… I just had an epiphany. I want to play SOCOM 2 now.

We, SOCOM gamers, should have a quick blogsite to inform others when to play the original SOCOM II until SOCOM 2 HD comes out (hopefully)!

The biggest difference from SOCOM 2 to SOCOM 3 and started to kill the franchise was the majority wins rule. So if your team has 8 guys and the other team has one left alive and the timer runs out in SOCOM 2 it's a tie and in 3 your team wins. Now that may sound more fair but all it does is create incentive to camp if your team has the lead in the round which is boring. So in SOCOM 3 there were clans who would kill one guy on the other team then camp the rest of the time, smart, but not fun.

5*s man. I knew that anything developed by Slant Six would be shit! Aren't they the ones who gave us the *supposedly awesome* SOCOM Tactical Strike? Zipper did a great job on the first six SOCOM games ever made. Maybe they should combine the best of all those SOCOM's, make it a First Person Shooter like COD, and maybe more people would play their new SOCOM that's supposed to come out. Slant Six gave SOCOM a very bad name!

Socom 2 and 3 made me the hardcore gamer I am today. Without it, I would probably be reading books and playing monopoly.

These are my roots and I will never forget the people I met on this game.

I wish the Playstation 3 could play this game. Unfortunately I don't have the backwards compatibility function.

@Yank420 this is a video about the bad things about confrontation. Why would he show that there are more game options for each map in confrontation. That would go against what he is trying to do here. Like he wouldnt want to show all the weapon customizations that confrontation has that socom 2 didnt. This is an argument for Socom 2, why would he show the counter points, that would be dumb. lol.

great effin video...i miss s2 so much! like that one guy said. no other game will ever come close to being as good as it. so many memories and friends made from it. I still am in contact with some of the people i used to play with. we will probably be friends forever all because we used to play s2 everyday/night!!!

The days of socom 2 were the best years of gaming I ever had. Everything about socom 2 was awesome and no other game will probably ever be able to match it. Zipper should take a looksy at the best game they created and use it when developing the next socom!

socomguys, there is another little thing and that is when you die in socom 2, you can go to your body and spin the camera around and look at whatever. Confrontation you just look at your body and can't move the camera around.

i actually like this. it prevents opponents from being spy cameras all round. this happened to me a lot in the old socoms. you don't need to move your camera around anyway.
