Dear Vpmatt,,,,,You think that the second part of A hard days night was sung by Paul because the notes were too high to sing for John, but I guess that the second part was written by Paul, it's very Mc Cartney in style.....like We can work it Out was vice versa....
@ngolomirambu These videos are well-researched you know. Maybe Paul had a bit of input but John definitely wrote the song himself, and basically overnight. And if you know Lennon's voice it is too high for him. He was in a hurry to get the title track before Paul had a chance to write one.
Great videos, really enjoyable...but i'm a little confused, I'v just watched the 'Tomorrow never knows' one, where you say that 1966 was Geoff Emerick's first day as engineer, but he is mentioned here as well (1964)
Vpmatt, thanks for this video. I had to listen to the solo several times to understand what was going on, can't believe they did that at half spead. Crazy.
Hope you can do a Sgt. Pepper "look at the creation" too.
GREAT series here. Thank you for your hard work on it!

according to NPR's analysis, the opening chord is actually a guitar and piano in unison, though I can't really hear it.

@eddiehead64 Could be a slowed down piano, like the guitar solo.

@sportsfreak212 Yes I am, I won't deny it! I think McCartney is also a genius but Lennon's music appeals to me more.

He was an assistant engineer in 1964. Norman Smith was engineer.

Album or song? Album might be tough and song might not have enough of interest to comment on.

I think you can hear this somewhere in the beginings of their movie: "Help!"

It's hard to imagine two people (lennon and mccartney) that had so much talent that hasn't been matched since
