  • UUGGGHHHH,A snare roll with snare hits.Doesnt add up! Sounds fake.

  • @semiLivedj Yeah, these samples are all being triggered from an old E-mu PX-7. It sounds MUCH better triggering NI Battery or BFD...

  • Here's a tip, be a man, and get a drumset. :) Jk haha, that looks fuckin sweet.

  • This was the video that caused me to run off immediately and buy the same Zendrum ... awesome!

  • owow. that thing is sweet! I WANT one!!!!!!!!! It appears you have mastered its use as well. It brings me joy!

  • so u got the Drum kit from Cakewalk right? im new to Midi and im getting the MPD18 and wandering if itll all work with Sonar 8 and PX-7 and the Pads. tell me wat ya think! thanks

  • The kit I'm triggering is one of the kits from the PX-7. The MPD18 should work fine with a PX-7 or with Sonar. Have fun!

  • These things are sweet but for 1/4 the price you can pick up a Padkontrol which has very good pads, more features, and only a few less pads than this. It doesn't even have USB. The zap should be $400 not $1k

  • @rhadiem Yeah, the Padkontrol would be my choice for sensitivity after the Zendrum. The Zendrum definitely has some limitations (such as no usb), but it is upgradeable. I'm guessing usb will be available sometime through a board revision. There's already been one board revision that brought new features... As a percussionist, the extra sensitivity beyond even what the Padkontrol offers is worth it to me. The Zendrum is definitely not for everyone, but then neither is a Les Paul Supreme... :)

  • yeah why they have to be so expensive??? :(

  • Sweet dude!

  • Excellent performance! My only complaint about the Zendrum stuff is the price tag. 1000 bones for one of these babies!

  • AUD

    Piezo = 50¢

    Yamaha D4 = $200

Cable, plugs etc = $100+ depending

  • If you're a programmer it is possible to make your own brian using a PIC controller.

  • its strange not seeing John Emmrick playing this thing

  • the drum solo of life!!

  • Oh wow! This is great! I've never seen anything like it.

I think my boyfriend would just drool over it... :D

  • Hey... thanks fo ur video.... Please tell me about - how i can bay Zendrum in Latvia?

  • awesome midi controler :)

  • Did you finish that video at 5:12 PM or AM?

  • I keep wanting it to go into the Moby Dick riff... :)

  • wow, very interesting! This is the first iv'e come across these zen drums. Looks like a very unique alternative to other drum controllers like the roland handsonics or the mpc style grid pads. So how do you find these pads compare? they look like very solid pads with no give, how would describe them?

  • The pads on the Zendrum are FAR more sensitive and dynamic than any rubber pads I've played, which is most all of them. They are essentially a hard plastic cap sitting on top of a tall rubber disk. There is a tiny bit of give, but not much. They pick up every little touch.

  • drums sounds great man

  • purty sick. sounds like a real jazz drummer.
