  • This whole "chemicals causing cancer" thing isn't necessarily new. What doesn't cause cancer? What don't you put in your hair that isn't healthy? Relaxers have sodium hydroxide, which literally burns though the scalp, and many people still use it. Many hair products have bad ingredients. Adding any heat to your hair without protection is just bad. So, what's new?

  • @ThePurplePebble love ur comment !

  • It's just another straightener with another name on it

  • its just wierd the call straight hair great hair.. am i the only one thinking this?

  • Wow, the world formaldehyde was bothering me. I was so sure i heard it somewhere bofore. As a matter of fact I did heard it somewhere before: in my anatomy labs! Formaldehde is a fixative agent used on tissues that we want to observe. You know the aweful smell that come from dissection subjects (eg rats, frog, human cadaver)? Well it's formaldehyde. I wouldn't want to put that on my head... yirk!

  • Ya get what you pay for......$12? I just wouldn't use the professional treatment because it's excessive in this recession. But if it's for you, and you feel safe putting chemicals into your hair, hey, it's a free country. Ppl color their hair, tease it, fry it with perms, etc. And ALL ethnic groups do this, not just "African Americans"....LOL

  • check out my vids im a man with out a mouth determined to be a singer help support me and my effort.

  • I wish ppl would stop calling it 'African American' hair... I mean there are other black people and people of African descent in the world... And African/black w/e hair is very diversified... Not every black person's hair fits into this mold of 'African American'... I still don't know wtf that is... o.O

  • lol when she touched her hair, she was thinking isn't your hair supposed to feel like that at 5:24

  • I think this product is definately toxic, however relaxers are NO better... Truth is pretty much any chemical hair process, relaxer, keratin, jerry curl, perm, texturizer or whatever is BAD for your health and your hair... Do what makes you happy... but if it takes inhaling toxins to be "beatiful" maybe we should re-work our concept of beauty... I'm just saying.

  • Okay, I don't have any pain after a relaxer...no sores.....and formaldehyde is DANGEROUS. Here these ppl are breathing in toxic fumes and will probably have lung cancer 10 yrs from now for straight hair. So so sad. And relaxers suck too when it comes to health.....it just seems like this is propaganda encouraging ppl to get this service..........and Garnier should be sued for false advertisement bc everything I've used that they sell sucked.

  • "Or African American Hair" Damn thats fucked up to say

  • @indyha06 LOL I know

  • @indyha06 lmao

  • Did she really said "difficult hair"?!?!? are you kidding me!WOW! People need to learn to love and care for their hair in it's natural state! It's all a state of mind.

  • @oooop95 do you have natural hair. i'm thinking that you probably don't. i did for a long time and it is difficult to manage... im not saying i would go out and pay 300 frickin dollars for this crap but i do have to take care of my hair somehow... and it is hard to do bcuz my hair is naturally coarse so yea, it can be difficult... it may be a state of mind in how a person wants to be perceived but for me, it's just the desire to be able to easily take care of my hair and still look good.

  • @ericaj2 Yes I do, you should check out my YT channel! I have gone from long relaxed hair 2 a TWA (teeny weeny afro) shoulder length Natural hair that's below the blades when heat straightened in just a few years. I have 2 say on this side of my natural journey I am convinced that we just haven't been taught how 2 treat our natural hair. It is easy for me now, so much easier than relaxed ever was. I admit I had 2 learn a lot of things 2 be able 2 honestly say that. I'm glad we both like r hair:)

  • I'll stick with 3 hours every 2 weeks using my 20 flat iron and 5 dollar heat protection

  • my thing is do whatever you want to your hair. its a personal thing. what i do find worrying is that these people only felt "beautiful" with straight hair. like the lady who said "i feel like i can face the world" what was wrong with it before?!

  • A dominican blow out where i'm from is $30 and $40 if you hair is long............Down South Prices

  • lol I have kinky hair and rockstar attitude . I love to get my hair straightened cause I love to throw it around in that state....but 500 lol really?.. this is why I taught myself how to straighten my hair. 1000 dollars is another guitar for me, not getting my hair done twice.

  • @TheRichgirl1234 you are a moron. get a life and stop trolling

  • @cricket06211 that's what i get and my hair looks great and healthy

  • @Therichgirl1234....I guess u have been in the dark...Robyn had a battle with cancer n lost her hair! Shameful

  • @therichgirl1234....she used to have beautiful hair but she lost it to cancer:(....you should feel bad...

  • The dominican blowout beter n use less heat.

  • I love Robyn.

  • Garnier should only advertise for caucasian people then...stop putting black girls in your commercials

  • @OpinionatedFemaleDog What I mean is hair texture isn't based on nationalities. For example, there isn't such thing as French hair, Moroccan Hair, Nigerian Hair or Black British hair.

  • Comment removed

  • There's not such thing as African American hair. They should have said Afro textured hair.

  • @ladymusiclover I beg to differ. There is such a thing a African American hair since most African Americans have a trace of white in them as a result, it has differentiated the texture of their hair from an genuine African hair.

  • @mycreativityrules But African Americans have different hair textures some have less tight curls than others and many africans have traces of white in them due to colonisation.

  • Amino Acids and Nutrients??? Really??? Lmao

  • Have mercy! you mind as well get a damn perm

  • Oh yes, having to wear a mask while you apply intense chemicals and still smelling chemicals even when you wash your hair is totally safe. It's a carcinogen for Christ's sake! Is straight hair really that important?

  • I'm sorry I guess I might be cheap but $200-$500 you know what I can do with that! Pay another month of rent or something and be ahead. Food, gas for the car! Lol I'm just saying...........

  • @Buttascotch No same thoughts over here sis. That is to much money smdh

  • @Buttascotch I agree. I was wanting one but I cant pay that price. Not in this economy. I got 2 kids and trust me there is always something I can think of doing with that money. (btw using hubby youtube dont want you to think it was him lmbo)

  • @Buttascotch i totally agree!

  • People just look for results right there and now. I'm looking at the whole picture and future. The cons and the pros. Yes the result is nice. But what happens when u get bored w/ the straight and want to go back to your natural curl pattern and can't? I'm basically paying U to damage my hair, and not cheap at that. You craaazy!

  • @Buttascotch I get a Brazilian Blowout and I'm natural. My hair reverts back to its natural curl as the product washes away. It all depends on who is doing it.

  • @20lamonica06 Oh ok. Well that's good for you, you was one of the lucky ones lol. But as you said...."Depends on who is doing it." SMH and like I said noooope not chancing it lol.

  • I find it funny they saying "Yes it's safe" BUT U USING GLOVES ONLY, AS U USE THE PRODUCT?!?! And of course they going to say that, basically trying to make their money. Don't care about ur hair. Lol. Pleeease NOPE I'M GOOD! I will sacrifice & keep doing my own natural hair. And take forever protecting it while I straighten my hair, no charge. Then to use chemical things just to straighten & damage MY natural curl pattern permanently when I want to go back to my curls when done w/ straight.

  • A substance used to preserve dead people used on a mentally, morally, materialistic dead people. Go natural as there is no such thing as wild nappy or untamed hair. Terms promoted by companies to folks with self love problems.

  • That's a lie. They said it costs from $200-$400. When I had it done to me I payed $60.

  • @maniaha1234 it probably depends on where you live and what kind of Salon is doing it either way i would never pay that much to get my hair done unless i was ballin lol

  • @maniaha1234 theres treatments that lasst like 2 weeks or so n expensive treatments that last a few months. (3 to 4 month)

  • "Feel my hair. Isn't it nice!"

Yeah, I hope getting cancer will be nice too.

  • wtf garnier said that their products aren't 4 curly, damaged or African American hair? so wtf is the point then?lol if my hair is already straight, might as well use a good frizz product.... but its rly a shame when ppl are given all these facts and they still care abt wat society thinks abt having straight hair.. they are willing to damage their health..smh.. i have natural hair & a good deep conditioner, moisturizer, and heat serum work well with a good flat iron..def not worth it!!

  • Well, when the economy went down and I got laid off, I promised myself that i would never pay $100 for a hair session. I darned sure won't pay 2-500. That's crazy. The black chick looked better with texture imo. I learned to do my hair well on my own. And I'm not breathing in crazy fumes.

  • if you have to wear gloves then it's dangerous to your hair duh!!!! dont you have to put gloves on for perms and relaxers?? the only thing i would recommend is a Dominican blow out they use a lot of heat but they have heat protection or you can blow dry your hair and flat iron it yourself and Look at the cost of this $200-$500 that's how much for peoples rent and car note seriously the things people pay for hair smh

  • @lilBubbles212

    i totally agree

  • @QueenFabolucious Thanks another thing that pisses me off is that they put things in their hair like perms and relaxers and never take the time to read about what they are putting in their hair this question "Is this stuff really good for my hair?" never pops in their heads all they think about is straight hair.

  • @lilBubbles212

yeah! that's so true, i've spoken to many women who use relaxers and they've argued with me saying it's good for their hair and it's healthy (their hair), bearing in mind that it's coloured and bone straight, let alone limp and lifeless, in all my 17 years of life, many of these women with relaxed hair i've not seen their hair grow past shoulder length, or anywhere near! it makes me so annoyed, i don't know whether they don't take me seriously because of my age or what! lol

  • @QueenFabolucious I hate when they argue back and they have no idea of what they are talking about one girl tried to tell me her hair is healthy but her edges are gone and she has to use gel to get a nice sleek ponytail i havent seen many girls with relaxed hair longer than there shoulders either i have a friend who relax her hair but her ends look frizzy and it has gotten shorted i asked them what have you accomplished while relaxing your hair? they say straight hair i said yes but your length

  • @lilBubbles212

yes! it annoys me so much too! i'm like, yeah, sure! now, i just think, okay, in time you'll see the length of my hair. it's already APL since a year when a hairstylist cut and layered my hair to neck length, when it was shoulder length, i wasn't too pleased! layers take ages to grow out. my hair is curly too, so it looked a bit odd! thank goodness those layers have grown out now.

  • @QueenFabolucious their length always stay the same never get's longer they should find that odd and most of them dont care about their real hair they avoid it and dont take care of it when they are wearing weaves and kinky twist and they dont wash their hair in months how nasty is that

  • @lilBubbles212

yerrh! you'd think they'll find it odd, wouldn't you! but evidently not hahaa, yerh, i've came accross that "oh, i don't care, it's only hair" it's obvious you do care other wise you wouldn't want it bone straight/dyed/or with a ridiculously long weave. ughhh, i hate the whole washing in months thing, makes me cringe. espec' as i wash my hair daily-3 days. washing it once a week isn't good for my hair, but that's just mine, i know some people cant wash as often as i do.

  • @QueenFabolucious i hate when they say it's only hair well if that's the case they wouldn't mind cutting it off then but they dont wanna do that cause they are hypocrites i where weave like once a year but i love draw string ponytails gives me a break for messing with my real hair lol and it's sooooo nasty to not wash your hair in like 3-6 months ewwwwww i can't wash my hair every 3 days i wash it once a week though

  • @lilBubbles212

    yeah! it's so annoying!

ahh, i don't wear weaves/pony/any added hair hahaa.

and yeah! it's so ewwww, i'd hate to actually have to wash their hair, eww lol. the dirt that must come off hahaa. yeah, i know, some people can't i guess due to texture/time or just don't need to wash that often.

  • @QueenFabolucious your hair can be longer than shoulder length w/a relaxer. YouTuber ulovemegz relaxes her hair and it's almost waist length.

  • @ejdryer

i know it can, but we were talking about the majority and 95% or more of people who relax their hair don't know anything about hair care, hence one of the reasons why it doesn't grow past SL.

  • @QueenFabolucious while many do not know about hair care there are quite a few who do... and so as YOU said- it's not the use of a relaxer BUT the lack of proper hair care - AGREED

  • @ejdryer

    yeah!

    check out my hair channel

    growitlong2011

  • Jesus Christ if they are wearing gloves than thats a clue that it's a chemical and it's not safe duh!!! Don't they use gloves for perms and relaxers? It's pretty obvious if u ask me I'm natural and I just blow-dry and flat iron put good moisturizer and a good serum it will last and the price is crazy that's how much people pay for car note and rent just get a Dominican blowout

  • Um, I have the had the brazilian blowout done to my hair for almost a year now, and it's amazing. My hair is so pretty and sleek, I used to not even be able to comb through my hair. It's a life saver. Honestly.

  • I think you're supposed to use the formaldehyde after you die of cancer

how convinient that they put it in the hair treatment! thats $300 off for funeral services.

  • @LaVivaGan LOL

  • Cancer was practically non-existant a couple hundred years ago....a time when what we ate, drank, and inhaled was not genetically/chemiclly/or artificially alterted. Instead of slathering your hair in a concoction of carcinogens, why not just eat foods that add to the development of keratin....citrus fruits, peppers, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, eggs, kale, soybeans, beans, almonds and walnuts.

  • @faptudivers While I agree with you that there are chemicals today that we consume/use which contrinbute to cancers we'd have heard little of back in the day, I'm afraid the comment is not entirely true. Cancer always existed. Because it's risk often increases with age a lot of people just didn't live long enough to experience it and would die from other things (e.g. polluted water, cramped living conditions, etc).

  • this is ridiculous, as if we don't have enough companies that poison us with the endless amounts of cheap chemical materials they use in their products. Think about it people, everything we eat, drink and breathe is pretty much infested with toxins and chemicals......and the worst part is that we are actually paying companies billions of dollars to poison us.....and then we wonder why cancer rates on the rise.

  • the black womans stylist had really nice hair -.-

  • I LIKE MY FRIZZY HAIR NOW AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD A RELAXER. I'M TRANSITIONING TO NATURAL HAIR. IT MIGHT SOUND CRAZY TO SOME BUT I DO LIKE MY FRIZZ. I DON'T GO AGAINST WHAT MY HAIR WANTS TO DO ANYMORE OR DO AN UP DO TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY... IT'S JUST HAIR!

  • Horrible. I'll stick with my curly hair please! Who needs straight hair?

  • This pisses me off those of the girls in the beginning looked good without a blowout and the end is dumb because if you keep your hair ragedy of course it will look horrible. I know girls with this coarse and frizzy hair that look absolutely amazing because they take care of it.

  • I recently had the Brazilian Blowout and love the treatment. My hair is significantly more manageable and holds a press much longer. I will however say that my eyes were very irritated during the process and I have never been known to have sensitive eyes. That being said formaldehyde can be found in many household products like soap and nail polish. While I think all woman should be careful, make sure to do your research and don't shy away from a product because it SOUNDS bad.

  • @MasonNatalie your body will pay for it in the long run. Its better you buy organic products or just make them at home..

  • Hmm... im 12,is this a good idea for me??

  • all this for sef-imaging.... ::smh::

  • It is important for stylists to follow the hair smoothing manufacturers’ instructions which include proper salon ventilation. Salons that use fans & open windows for ventilation only circulate the vapors to other workstations & their clients. OSHA & FDA warnings remind us we have to be diligent consumer advocates and not assume just because something is on the market that it’s safe. More information can be found by searching “salon clean air” or “chemical source capture systems for salons”.

  • To me these people are crazy, I am not doing all that for straight hair wat happened to weaves Hello lol

  • Investing so much time & money for straight hair and risking good health for it is not simply a desire to have more manageable hair or change hairstyles, it's a profound result of calculated brainwashing which succeeded b/c we are vain and self-conscious. We undermine each other and listen to the instigating of selfish men. Have the courage to be true to yourselves, love yourselves and surround yourselves with those who love the real you. The rest is just an illusion. . .

  • From a professional point of view who use the system and I have been doing it on my hair for over a year,It's d best thing that ever happened to my hair and everyone I've used it on loves it. U need to research d product before using them. Also if u go for cheap u get crap.

  • Most hair smoothing treatments release strong odors and/or chemcial vapors. A Chemical Source Capture System is a specialized salon ventilation system designed to absorb and remove Keratin Treatment formaldehyde vapors and odors from the air.

A Chemical Source Capture System improves the safety of many types of salon services, including: Brazilian Keratin Treaments, coloring & perming treatments.

  • My hair is damaged

    I want my hair back

  • ummm ... yea ... Id rather get a relaxer

  • @iluvpinkandgold LOL Word!

  • why does everyone want flat and boring hair!

  • @swetldy99 Because straight hair is easier to comb and looks longer and shinier.

  • @swetldy99

Being someone who has curly and untamed frizzy hair, I can understand. I love flatironing my hair to look like that. It's easier to maintain and not to mention it is so smooth and shiny rather than curly and bland. I don't know about anyone else but that's my reason. I wouldn't dare get the Brazilian products because I want my hair to remain chemical-free.

  • @ajaneque

    blowout* not products.

  • @swetldy99 This is why, I have wavy and curly hair that frizzes out. Some people will love your hair, while other people will make fun of it. It gets really pressuring for me sometimes, so I just want to get the Brazillian Blowout to just get things over with! We all know we have beautiful hair in general, its just we would stand out from most people who have straight hair. Instead of Brazillian Blowouts, I think we should let people who dont have straight hair know that its beautiful

  • @swetldy99 I agree flat hair is so boring! And most women look a million times better with their hair in a natural state, but hair is all about manageability.. That is the bottom line.

  • i like what they lady said 'i am not my hair' and her hair looks just as soft after a muggy day without poison on it

  • why do people waste theyre money and risk their lives just for straight hair???

  • wow...lmfao....is it really that serious to have straight hair. lmfao....We can be so silly some times....White or black....don't matter. Women we need to rage against the machine and burn our bra's and hair products.

  • I rather stress with my long nappy hair than taking a chance in putting something that can ruin my hair again. Yes its takes alot of time to manage it , but truefully saying these brands are not here to help you , there here to sell and make money. So put products in your hair that you'll know that will better your hair not make it manageable(theres a difference) !

  • well its certain brands...i hear coppola or whatever has no chemicals with only a few ingredients...i will ask for that one when i go.

  • her stylist did her a favor by refusing to give her the treatment.

  • @X10shunz excuse me but im not being what so ever disrepsectful. Youre taking what i said and interpreting it into something its not. & you need to stop taking things so personally because most hair that has a thicker texture to it makes it take longer to style in ways like straightening it. so youre dismissed. im not starting with no body about anything & i am not about to get into an arguement over you taking something way too personally. get over yourself.

  • LADIES ! Buy your own formula of brazillian blowout with a low to no formaldehyde formula and then get the process !

  • What the fuck is "African-American hair"?

  • @blahblahblahman Ethnic hair , hair that has a rougher texture to it making it much harder to manage and style.

  • Comment removed

  • @SarahBMakeupArtist ANY type of hair is hard to manage and style if you dont know HOW to do i, not just "ethinic". Im black, or "ethnic", and my hair's texture does not match your description, and its very simple to do it. not every "ethinic" person has rough hair. i know white people who have kinky hair. >__> Open your eyes to the new horizon! :P

  • @SarahBMakeupArtist *it (there was a typooo :D)

  • @blahblahblahman

    lmfao

  • @blahblahblahman dats what im saying smh..they make me sick

  • lmao at the endd when their hair was poofy as hell

  • Three words: Oh hellllll no!

  • it's a keratin treatment. an ACUTAL brazilian blowout just invloves using a lot of heat to straighten the hair.

  • @MimzyKuppycakez and how can you KNOW whats in these thing and still get it done???

  • @MimzyKuppycakez OOPS!!! got the dominican and brazilian blowout confused >.<

  • @MimzyKuppycakez I had been getting the Brazillian Blowout but my hairdress had some isses with her shop! (not paying the electric bill...) so I am now on my own can you tell me the products and steps to the blowout! I keep looking for it on youtube but they keep showing the keratin treatment. Please help.

  • @MimzyKuppycakez If that were the case it should be used, I wouldn't mind doing that

  • this makes me sick

    ignorance is bliss

  • ha wow garnier said they products don'r work for extremely curly, damaged or african american hair SMH

  • @lipglosslover09 Garnier works for me and I am african american with thick curly hair...

  • @BajanRoots works for me too!

  • Formaldehyde is something that is better applied to corpses, not to my scalp.

I can´t believe women know this information and still are so stupid to go ahead and risk their health this way.

  • @YTfancol Actually they have plenty of brands with no formaldehyde. And Many with little to 4% and lower.

  • @SarahBMakeupArtist That is what they advertise but when tested these products have a formaldehyde content higher than that advertised on the label.

Once again,we are free to put whatever we want on your head, I just don´t think formaldehyde is one of those things.

  • @YTfancol it also makes ur hair fall out cause my cousin got this and she is practically bald at this point!

  • I love that reporter! The woman in red was like sure, yeahI it's great.. she knows she'd do it again.. putting her life at risk.. the reporter was like my hairdresser KNOWS it's bad and is NOT gonna do that for me..ain't no way! hehe..

  • LOL THIS IS HORRIBLE, it's bad for your scalp just like a relaxer or perm

  • wow! this is good to know. I have the Brazilian Blowout and love it but, now, I dont see myself getting it again. the product is misleading and should be sued, I got the Brazilian Blowout under the impression that it doesnt have Formaldehyde but it has 8-10%. unacceptable!

  • This makes me grateful for my natural straight hair

  • does this work on "natural" hair? hair that's non process

  • @CYRINTHIA212 It works on virgin/unprocessed hair, but you'd be better off just using a serum and getting it pressed. Avoid the chemicals.
