So the Holdens 5th gear hits 171? I bought a Pontiac GTO with the 6.0 liter and my redline in 5th gear is around 160mph. Are the Holdens geared differently?

@bazpics I had 2 of those cars, the factory brakes are balls. I had mine up to 160 once (car had approx 8K miles on it) and it took forever and a day to slow down to 80. Your slowdown was actually pretty good for what speed you were at.
Just thought i might mention from reading alot of the comment below about the autobahn: it does have speed limits through some of it, it is commonly full of trucks and other cars so you cant always do the speeds you want, there is a recommended speed limit for some areas and if you are driving eradically you still can be fined!

i don't get why a lot of the us roads have speed limits. my guess is that you get idiots driving around in highly unstable escalades and dodge rams, even on a perfectly straight road, they'd still find a way to get killed.
still, i think states like wyoming (states with perfectly straight roads and barely any people there) should abolish all their speed limits.

actually thats where the pontiac GTO's of 05-07 came from. Holden, which is from the down under. that has 400hp(06-07 models, no longer making GTO's . 05's had 350hp) to the wheels.. and will do 180+ stock. I recon thats pretty quick.
GTO's were sold from 2004-2006 not 2005-2007. The 2004 ones had the 350hp 5.7L LS1 and the 2005-2006 ones had the 400hp 6.0L LS2. You were only a year ahead though. ;)

GTO's were sold from 2004-2006 not 2005-2007. The 2004 ones had the 350hp 5.7L LS1 and the 2005-2006 ones had the 400hp 6.0L LS2. You were only a year ahead though. ;)
