Nah montreal has a large fan base because they're the team that always wins (similar to the Yankees and Lakers). A large fan base doesn't necessarily mean a good one. Great fan bases (in no order): San Jose Minnesota Calgary Chicago Detroit Washington New Jersey Philadelphia Boston Buffalo Ottawa Toronto
I have to disagree. although you wrote a great fan base... i don't think any fans are more loyal than habs fans, how can you even write ottawa? the most boring fans out there. you actually have to go the home games of these teams in the playoffs and see, i've been to all except SJ and Minn, the rest don't compare to Montrealers and no they don't win like yankees or lakers... as for Detroit, you can't even call their fans the best when half of the first period, no one is in their seats.
oh and one more thing.... you have to watch games during regualr season as well, none except for SJ i think, are as loud and create as much atmosphere every sinle game, no matter who the opponent is as the habs fans. most arenas are quiet except for a goal....

lol i bet but i went to the boston game that was played on wed. the 10th...lol every goal or big save by johnny is deafening lol the verizon center is crazy, even on week nights in busy DC they still get around 18,000-19,000 people and the place only holds about 20-21,000 the Caps have a great future ahead, its about time! lol and im loving it
