Well it's come right out of the mouths of some mormons that their undergarments are more than something holy. They claim they're some kind of protection that defies physical reality. That they protect them from harm, fire, injury, and who knows what else. If they give their undergarments magical powers then people are going to say you claim they're magical. Seems pretty simple. If they're not magical, then you need to talk to your fellow mormons and tell them to stop claiming they are.
You know, people can credit whatever they like. For me, if I had an experience that had protected me from fire or the like, I would give credit to God. Some people have shared experiences where a bullet was stopped by a Bible or Book of Mormon in their pocket. It does not mean that the scriptures are magical in this sense. They are only paper. It would most likely be a faith promoting experience but I would give credit to God and my faith in Him.
They wore and did things in the Old Testament that is no longer legitamized to continue in this new dispensation. Jesus brought and end to the old. The old is only symbolic in meaning. We are to put on Christ. Our bodies are now the temple of Holy Ghost. No need to build temples anymore. Jesus was the final sacrifice. No need to sacrifice animals any longer. We are clothed in His righteousness, no need for special garments.
Thanks for the comment. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. This was also true of early Christians, including the apostles who regularly attended the Temple in Jerusalem. True that we no longer need animal sacrifce but temples have a new significance. The temples today are Melchezidek Priesthood Temples and not the old Aaronic Priesthood Temples. As far as wearing garments, that is something I believe in but thanks for respectfully disagreeing.
Once the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, they went out and preached the gospel of salvation through Jesus, healing the sick as they went. They did not attend temple ceremonies any longer, for they would not be anymore welcomed in the temple, than Jesus was. Chrisians met in homes at first and it grew from there and has continued to this day.
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
Watch my vid "From the Tabernacle to the Temple". The New Testament says that Jesus attended the temple daily. You will also find that Christians and the apostles attended the temple on a daily basis even after they received the Holy Spirit.
@manderbos There has recently been found the writings of Peter. While the first half mirrors almost exactly the Book of Mark in the Bible, the last half goes into great detail of what the Savior Jesus Christ taught during the 40 days after His resurrection. It goes into the greater need for the temple ordinances (baptism for the dead, eternal marriage, etc.) and tells how to perform them in minute detail.
@monty287 That would explain why, in the book of Luke, after Christ's ascension, the apostles went straight to worship in the temple at Jerusalem. It only seems logical that after being taught by Him for 40 days that their most immediate actions would be a reaction to His teachings.
I am grateful, however, that nobody as sunk to the level of forcing us to remove them, that would be tragic, wouldn't it? I mean, whats it hurting you if a group of 'crazy' people want to wear special clothes to try and better worship God?
Indeed there were and are religious garments (outer and inner), but it doesn't legitimise LDS "garments of the holy priesthood". People have just as much right to question the supposed sacredness of the LDS garments, as Mormons do to wear them. Nobody is forcing any Mormons to remove them, so be grateful.
Its probably good to question pretty much everything. We do consider garments sacred and
I don't know if its just me, but most people I've talked to and comments I've read and videos I've watched don't question garments, rather deprecate, or even go as far as to ruin or destroy what we consider sacred.
to bad christ made a new covenent with the new testament so ppl didnt have to lead such strict lives, read the new testament it warns of false religions like lds
That would depend upon you interpretation of what a strict life means. If you mean that people no longer had to live the Law of Moses, then you are right. If you mean that people can do whatever they want now, you are wrong. Christ taught that living the commandments is still necessary to recieve eternal life. Ever read about the sheep and the goats? We must do our part. There is a new covenant. Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for sin. belief in that is forgiveness of sin if we repent.
I've read the new testament. Love it. In fact, I quoted from it in this video. It warns of false religions... but LDS fit in perfectly with Christ's teachings in the New Testament.
Revelation 22:14-15 (KJV) Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
saved by the blood of christ, not your works not by joseph smith, and the verse you just listed is part of the end times, you know he commands us not to take the mark of the beast, and not to worship it and all that jazz or your soul is lost, keep those commandments so you may go to heaven, suprised you use revelations considering its fussing at churched for following false doctrine the first half, mormons are not with christs teachings or they wouldnt have the book of mormon
You know, I think you may be closer to being a Mormon that what you think. :) I agree, we are saved from sin by the blood of Christ.. if we accept it and repent of our sins. I also agree that keeping the commandments is needed to recieve eternal life in Heaven... but it involves more than just not taking the mark of the beast (It involves 10 commandments and Christ's commandments). Every man will be judged by their own works and will be rewarded accordingly. Matt 25:31-46
Don't be surprised that I used Revelation. The warning not to add to the words and prophecy found in the book of Revelation. The "Bible" did not exist when Revelation was written. It was compiled later (and you would be surprised how much has been added and removed since then). As far as the Book of Mormon, it is a separate record. However, it is also Christ's teachings. Anyone who has read it cannot honestly disagree.
umm i know lots of ppl that have read it and disagree lol , its blatant hijacking and twisting of the bible and changed doctrine, it is most definetley not Christ's teachings, its the false doctrine the bible warns us about, im sorry youve been to brainwashed to see that but i hope one day the real word of God can set you free
Lots of people say lots of things. Basically you are admitting that you have no idea what you are talking about. Never was brainwashed. I was presented with the gospel and made my own choice to accept it. I hope one day you will find out for yourself that the Book of Mormon is also the word of God.
all i had to do was read it to know it wasnt the word of God, give ppl the meat instead of the milk and see if anyone believes your faith, if you dont know what im talking about searh lying for the lord and watch a byu professor telling missionaries not to answer meat doctrine questions
1 Cor. 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Heb. 5: 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
I am glad that people like you are on youtube to help clarify our beliefs. For some reason or another there seems to be a lot of animosity towards us for things that you wouldn't think people would care about, but they do and some can get pretty nasty.
exactly rewarded accordingly , only those that dont believe they were saved by the blood of christ are judged by their works, and no works are good enough to get you into heaven so they are damned, so even men that accept christ on their death bed go to heaven even if they performed no works
You cannot divorce works from faith my friend. They go hand in hand (James 2:14-24). The Bible says that ALL will be judged by their works. That includes you and I and every Christian,Muslim, Jew, Buddhist,etc.. EVERY man, regardless of belief will be judged by their works both those in the book of life and those that are not. John 5:28-29, Romans 2:5-8, Revelation 20:12-13, Galatians 6:7
I think Gutcheckcoming never replied to your last comment because he knew you had bested him! All you need do is use the scriptures and they make the case for you! Excellent discipline, wording, and knowledge in you discussion with Gutcheckcoming my friend!
thats cool, thanks. i always forget were to find those exact scriptures so i can explain to people with questions about that lol now i wrote them down finally
crazy people are funny.

Can mormon women wear pants?
YoMecanica 3 years ago
Yes, there is no belief that forbids women from wearing pants. They normally wear dresses or skirts to church though.
ChristopherMillz 3 years ago
Ahh ok. I always watch groups of mormons knocking doors, women never wear pants.
YoMecanica 3 years ago
Yes, but they must wear the undergarments and never show their upper arms.
