  • 50,000 people... now its a ghost town.

  • @xXMrMal1Xx 50,000 People used to live here...Now its a ghost town

  • i randomly drifted to here watched the clock...its exactly 0124 hrs. (indian ST) ...so it was like this dark night that the incident occurred..RIP heroes of motherland

  • it's good place for airsoft battles :DD

  • @gothika131 that was the sound byte from cod4

  • People are grading it now sounds like tango's where's my ghillie suit

  • 0:30 they said that quote in Modern warfare (call of duty 4)

  • are u able to go into the actual city or is it higly radiated or is it just where the reactor and station is

  • R.I.P all who died, from an 11 year old kid

  • no way this is in call of duty 4 beast

  • @uGzConnor this is in call of duty 4 when we are in ghillie suits sneaking around. that is chernobyl

  • @uGzConnor You heartless Bastard people died in this accident now stop being a fucking cod 4 fanboy and grow a heart!

  • @M21cat what the fuck cunt i was just saying prick

  • great shot leftenant

  • The sad thing is, most people have heard of Chernobyl and Pripyat via Call of Duty. Personally i think this is the worst thing to have ever happened, not because of the death toll but Pripyat used to be a beautiful city, and these images are worrying to think that someday this could happen to any of us, abandoning our homes and then 20, 30 years later looking at images of our own city in ruin. Respect for the people who died.

  • why am i reminded of cod 4 when i watch this, besides the '50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town' part

  • @TehLiquid yeah haha so fucken true

  • lol i feel like playing CoD4 now... hmmm

  • @titanl0rd don't be stupid

  • just by watching this i started playing cod 4 and started playing the mission :all ghillied up to one shot one kill....

  • Waw, it's really cool to think that the developers of COD got certain parts of chenobyl just like the pictures in this video, feels like a tribute to all those who died, cod was a good game (until the mw's released..)

  • Do some people still live there?

  • @XXCAZ101XX

Yeah, some people even work in the 3 other reactors ^^

  • @Rezkoh But, would they have to wear like... gas masks and stuff like that?!?

  • @XXCAZ101XX

Well, considering there's still enough radiation to wipe out the whole of Europe I'd say so :P

  • @Rezkoh

"Well, considering there's still enough radiation to wipe out the whole of Europe" bit of an exaggeration there?

  • @mufc4527

yes, there very much so is enough to wipe Europe out. late reply I know, but think of it this way, why haven't people populated the surrounding areas yet?

  • @XXCAZ101XX No there masks would melt away its too dangerous too go there

  • one day, the whole world will look like this, it shudders me to think

  • To all you people arguing, I myself immediately recognized things from EVERY SINGLE IMAGE as things/scenes from call of duty 4. It is very obvious that the buildings from cod4 are based on the real thing! I was stunned!

  • This video gives me chills...

  • who the fuck cares about cod 4 THIS WAS REAL,ALL OF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED ALL THE LANDMARKS ARE STILL THERE! PEOPLE DIED AND ALL YOU PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THAT COD 4 HAD A LEVEL BASED ON THIS NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! R.I.P all victims of this terrible tragedy

  • @EMERALDanimations We know it has all happend, but what gamestesters1234 is trying to say that he recognizes these landmarks, in detail because of the game... The game was so reallistic, that even i want to take a trip over there. Just to pay my respects to the people who died in that disaster and to see for myself, what kind o damage, the whole disaster made. It doesn't matter how u find out about this disaster, it's how u respect it, u don't know hoe he respects it, just ask him that!

  • @EMERALDanimations You uhh,

    Ok

The people are simply saying that

The pictures remind them of the level Bloc

Which is, in fact, based off of the area depicted in some of these photos.

The ferris wheel, the drained pool, the hotels

The game means more to me on a deeper level, just to know that the people actually researched some of this.

    I'd post more, but

  • I watched a documentry in English Class just like this. and In this video I noticed 2 things from CoD4 first of all in the description it says 50,000 people use to live here, no its a ghost town, and at 0:38 that ferris wheel is basicly the same one from cod 4.

  • Looks eexactly like CoD4, wow

  • hundreds of thousands of miles in every direction? lelelelelelele u funy

  • This was on COD4 Right?

  • NEW COD MAP :D

  • just imagine what it would be like if it WAS! one of OUR! towns (scary stuff yaaa)

  • its actually quite scary if u think about it

  • now it makes sense in cod 4

  • I swear to god why did this video have EVERY building on the mission of CoD 4 with the ferris wheel !

  • While watching this, all i can think is CoD 4...

  • what is the classical song during this video someone please let me know ?

  • @RANDOMGAME100 Canon in D Major by Pachelbel...enjoy!

  • @padis thank you so much :D

  • WTF was makarov doing there??

  • C.O.D 4

  • @brandonjeremy1 LOL dude are you really an idiot?

  • @brandonjeremy1 You do know how hard you failed right? Cod 4 based a few levels off of REAL places in Pripyat, Ukaraine. These pictures are those REAL places, none from cod 4. Over 200,000 people got evacuated from there homes and most permanently. Get out a little bit dude and think before you comment on one of the worst disasters in our world's history.

  • Can people stop taking lines from crappy videogames and putting them to context of a real event! Chernobyl really happened, it's not to be taken into context with videogames.

  • @BWIENS789 Ya wanna know a thing? This line isn't stolen from CoD4. But CoD4 got it from a much used quote from a scientist..

  • @BWIENS789 exactly. people find stuff like 'nuketown' a game, and then they see stuff like this and forget its real. :/

  • actually the recreation of pripyat in call of duty 4 is very authentic, some of these pictures are from the same locations

  • can you believe theyre opening the site to attract tourists?? kinda spooky to me...

  • @rebelangell21 Yeah i agree...Kinda spooky

  • when i first watched a documentry on this i was really freaked out and upset by the whole event

  • wait a minute that sound "50.000 people used to live here, now is a ghost town" is the voice of cpt. mac milan from call of duty 4 modern warfare in mission "All Ghillied Up" and mission " One Shot, One Kill"

  • @paci2x Too bad they didn't invent that quote. They just stole it.

    BTW nice triple post.

That's basically a new level of fail right there.

  • @paci2x Dude. You are RETARDED! That voice is NOWHERE from COD. This was an actual recording a scientist did.

  • wait a minute that sound "50.000 people used to live here, now is a ghost town" is the voice of cpt. mac milan from call of duty 4 modern warfare in mission "All Ghillied Up" and mission " One Shot, One Kill

  • hey, wait minute that voice "50.000 people used here, now is a ghost" is from "Call of Duty 4 modern warfare!"

  • so this is where cod4 got the sniper level from and the map bloc

  • i would live there it looks pretty fun and cool sucks that that happened thoufhg

  • the radiation is safe now......15 years ago it wasnt but now most of it cleared off. the only reason nobody lives there now is because of fear of another explosion. now even the government is too afraid to go back

  • damn someone could make a tight beat outta the tune in the beginning.

  • @Aznsk8terPH0LIF3 If I am correct, I think they already have. But hey if not then why don't you do it?

  • what does Chernobyl christmas for the bad guys

  • @demonshadowss wat does it mean u ask? left over radioactive materials could have been used to make nuclear weapons.

  • I don't think Pachelbel Canon should be used here, it's a song of happiest and enjoy.

  • @cosmosvision Look at those pictures it looks like a happy place just the event that spoils it

  • wow, that quote is from cod 4, i lost respect of u right there

  • Nice use of Macmillan's quote,my fav levels.I'm gonna try and go to Pripyat with some friends if i can get the money and find the time to.It's quite a touching video.

  • @Infantry1242 Why'd you want to go to Pripyat? Not to pick up any nuclear weapons I hope...

(cos I'll be the guy hiding in the tall building with a sniper rifle trained at your neck. lol)

  • @jamesgravil If i do,im not risking going anywhere near Reactor 4,let alone Chernobyl it's self, not risking mutation lolz.

  • lol, this video i've seen is on the CALL OF DUTY!!

  • Call of duty addicts.

  • "CANON" is not appropriate background music for this video..

  • WHY people always use cod4 its anoying me

  • My grandfather still tests the ground for radiation.

  • sob...sob...im sooo sad...sob...sob...

  • "hundreds of thousandas of miles"? that means it covered the earth at least 20 times....

  • @MASTURCHEEF001 thats i am thinking

  • @MrHamza1906 really on clser inspection it means at leats 50 times.

  • at 0:28 these are actualy words from one guy called captain mac millain in cod4 good idea nad nice video dude

  • this music is perfect for this vid. love it. my number 1 goal is to visit Chernobyl

  • @mirorih2 you will die there

  • quite eery but sad R.I.P

  • my father waz in germany while they were on high alert from the toxicity

  • @thenerd1000 my great grandfather was a german engineer, he's dead now but he used to do loads of protecting against the use of nuclear

  • If You listen to the background on COD4 when you enter the building you can hear echos of children

  • @TehProgresses you're right :p

  • :'( to sad

  • is this the same place that appear in call of duty 4??

  • @leocettra21 Yeah

  • i love the musicin this vid. it is relaxing. but not the start

  • you know there is a story about the farris wheel. they say that the farris wheel was never ran but some people say it was ran the day of evacuation to ease people and to stop panic.

  • @afluffyman its not ran, they wnted to use it the first time on 1 may, there was some special thing that day, and they wnted to use the ferris that day

  • Description "50000 people used to live in there, now it's a ghost town" used from Cod

  • ghost town? from what ive heard people are living there and the reactor that was overheatet was still used untill year 2000

  • @MultiBompi percisly

  • That pretty crazy man, the pool and the ferris wheel are both in the cod 4 maps

  • Its sad that it happened, even if they did support russia, it was one of the only russian "free" cities.... although the disasted has enspired many games, COD4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R (1+2+3), and other smaller games... helping to keep the memory of this ever rotting place alive, the same as other disasters, Titanic being a famous one, Pompei another...

  • Some of these pics look exactly like maps from cod

  • yh apparntly the cod team went into chernobyl and took pictures

  • they did :)

  • @teengaming THats pretty tite

  • thats cause these are pics of a town thats used as a level in cod4

  • coz that how people from cod4 did it they went there took pics of the area and made it into a game,,,

  • it's the chernobyl disaster either way very, very sad

  • Shit, wonder what it looks like today.Still so sad........

  • ''50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town''That line is in COD MW1 Cpt.Macmillan says it.

  • sad... very sad... :(

  • they said it would take 900 years for the city to radation free!

  • haah spartan is a call of duty freaker :P

  • now I wanna play the flashback mission on COD4 again!

  • me too!

  • now its a ghost town

  • "hundreds of thousands of miles in every direction"? I think not, the moon is only 238857 miles away, it didn't get that far. Sensationalist journalism. Get it right guys!

  • @ihathome lol ur right they probably change it so it is hundreds of thousands of miles in volume

  • Fuck off spammers.

  • chernobl is on mw2 onlline map

  • fuck you spammers

  • To: The Ukrainians

    From Russia with Love

  • paha lol, i dont think cod5 was in russia for long lol

  • i dont know, dont have WaW XD

  • Well good luck mirorh2

  • RIP Chernobyl will never be the same =(

  • ya think?

  • It is kind a weird thing to consider that there is for example a whole big apartment building, and no one lives there.

  • 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town.

    qwerty

  • awesome use of wedding music....really gets the point across

  • What kind a song is from 0:07 ?

  • That's from another Pripyat documentation. The presenter played a piano in one of the abandonned buildings. Really, I've seen the documentation myself.

  • Yea i dont think the people at first playing CoD4 realized this place was real and why it was the way it was "a ghost town"

  • COD4 Bloc is real!

  • freakin awesome vid!

  • COD 4 - WHAT AN AMAZIN LEVEL IN PRYPIAT

  • pretty hard aswell XD

  • The cold, hard truth in images. And the worst thing is: The Ukrainiun Government is building nuclear plants from te same design as Tsjernobyl!! And the Sarcofaghus is leaking radiation also. They have to build a new one!

  • Easy there, the Ukrainian government is not using the RBKM-1000 reactors anymore because they're outlawed. The original design was good, but poor craftsmanship and the poor training of some of the staff are the reasons it blew. Also, the sarcophagus IS in really bad shape, but they are currently beginning construction of the new billion dollar sarcophagus which should be completed in the next 20 years.

I'm pretty sure nobody's gonna let Chernobyl happen all over again...pretty sure.

  • dam imagine if nuclear war breaks out the world will become Chernobyl, god dam i fear that one day nuclear war will break out and well more than just Chernobyl will a desolate sad place.

  • soo sad :-(

  • The quote in the discription is stolen from call of duty 4

  • its hardly stolen hes using it because its based on what happned

  • Yeah. CoD 4 stole the city when they designed the maps exactly like it looks for real.

  • yeah

  • Au contraire

  • Makes me sad there..

    5/5 for all of them..

  • American idiots talk to much in here.

I have been there, u can get accent by payin the agents, that controls the area.

If u only are there in some hours, nothing will happend.

Its a very very sad place!

  • The amount of radiation exposure you get on the tours is equal to about 2 X-rays at the hospital, not serious at all.

I've been there as well and it's totally safe if you know where to walk. You have to be more worried about wild animals there than the radiation. Just don't walk off the path.

  • THanks paulwes what wild animals are there? But thanks for the advice.

  • We were told that wild boars and wolves can be seen pretty often. They usually stay away from humans, but they can be quite bold and attack you if they feel they're being threatened or are hungry enough. There haven't been any reports of tourists being attacked, only the idiots that go off the path and go looking for trouble.

If you're thinking of going, don't let me scare you, it's an amazing experience.

  • @paulwes1983

Thanks,i might just go and join the army, stay on the path, and avoid getting radiation sickness, thanks for the advice

  • i cant believe the radiation is so strong that it lasted from 1986-2009...damn thats scary as hell...now i see why people are to scared to go back even today...this is 100 times worse than hiroshima...

  • Due to the half life of the radioactive fallout of the reactor, they say Chernobyl will be a continuing disaster for at least the next 500 years. To make matters worse, the radioactive particles from it and many other nuclear accidents, dumps, and test sites around Russia continue to spread.

  • Man, that sucks. A 250 year half-life, so that means it'll only be safe in 2500.... man.

  • One report suggests the radiation's toxicity will last for tens of thousands of years.

  • " The World " was at it's lowest point? Sept. 11th, 2001 was like... fucking Jihad Orgasm Day... So I guess you can't really say the whole world was at the lowest when that happened, although the Jihad's and there shitty 3rd world countries don't technically count as part of the world. kthxbai.
