  • It's the dummest thing ive heard, women don't get bodybuilder mucles buy training heavy weights. It's BULLSHIT.. women have to train ALOT and stick to a strickt diet to get bodybuilder mucles (and even that is very hard).

  • That's extremely unsafe to devote that much time to excersising. in order to lose weight it's best to do half an hour to an hour of cardio workouts everyday, in addition to consuming a diet which limits high caloric foods

  • 1) u need to waste calories more than u get calories in ur body.

    2) u need to do aerobic (any sport, example: swimming\ running\ bicycle).

  • no, you shouldn't lose more calories than you gain.... you need a certain ammount of calories every day for a reason.

  • You should review your form. The push ups we not executed very well. Your spine was not aligned at all.

  • This is stupid. Keep the hands out to elongate the muscle? You can't make muscles longer. And she's not gonna work anything with 8lbs of weight. She needs to stop perpetuating stupid myths.   • I think she was just bein a bit silly really like when you do side stand pressups you shouldnt make your arms completely straight otherwise you lose tension but it was generally a pretty good workout :)

  • Well actually, I don't think she can see how far she's going with her arms... like when I do that exercise, I always do it in front of the mirror so I can see where my arms are going.

  • Okay, this girl is driving me crazy. I am a woman, and I rarely use any weights less than 12 pounds on anything, and I don't get "big"! Women always say they want to look like me, and I tell them to lift heavier. Unless you want to be skinny with absolutely no muscles. Women CANNOT get huge!

  • I've heard/read many times how women can't get that buff without drugs, but I still get worried when I see Jessica Biel's muscles because that's not my ideal. Do you mind giving me some advice:

    I've been doing my exercises with weights around 70% of my 1RM (25lbs for squats, 15lbs for back rows, etc.), will it get me Biel-toned or Alba-toned?

  • theres no way that your squat 1RM max is 35 pounds.... you wouldn't be able to walk up stairs

All the research I've ever read indicates that only around 2% of women possess testosterone levels high enough to ever "get big", without steroids. I have a client that can curl 15 pounders for reps and her biceps aren't any bigger than Kim's.

  • Hi, I'm 25 years-old, very skinny, I'm actually underweight but I can't really change that (I eat a lot but it never adds to my weight) but I want to gain strenght on my arms (bicepts, tricepts). If I do the ones Kim shows, will my arms get bigger or do I have to eat a lot more? Does it matter if I'm skinny?

  • you have to do both, excersize material that will gain muscle. like lifting weights and jogging for leg muscle. and try to eat to get fat in your body(if your that skinny)

  • get some extra protein drinks with your diet, low in carbs,calories, sugar & let's say 25 grams of prtein, do some light weight training in the areas of your body where you want more muscle definition and the muscle will give you a little bit more of healthy weight instead of Fat weight!

  • hey, i just watched a marie claire movie on you tube about 'sexy arms' (go and watch it if you want) and the woman sais that you must not work with dumbells and bend a little bit over, because she sais that it's going to make your muscles bigger, and we want long muscles. Is that true? Or do we just need to use little dumbells? thanx bye!

  • actually she IS certified to be doing weight training videos. she's a certified trainer, hun, so do ur research. and yes women can get big muscles from lots of weight training. it takes work but they can.

  • Actually- I was in the army and did these moves along with some others in the push up or modified push up position and withing a few months my arms were too big it fit into not only long sleeve shirts, but I didn't fit in my jackets either. So I do NOT recommend using heavier weights. SOME women will not get larger arms, but some will. It depends on your build.

  • Okay yes her form could have been better...but give her a break. It's not easy to be holding those positions while describing the work out. And it's not even like she said "this is how you do a perfect push up". She was showing how you can incorporate dumbbells and add it into a push up.

  • The forward row position she did is actually done incorrectly. It's important not to lock your elbows, as it removes almost all of the tension on your muscles. To get a more comprehensive burn on the target muscles, don't lock the elbows.

  • I don't agree with your comment that you will get big by doing heavier weights. I do most of these exercises with 20 lb dumbbells. I'm no bigger than you. I really hate the fact trainers constantly tell females that they need to be carefu!l with heavy weights. It is very hard for a girl to get very big since we don't have enough testosterone. Please ladies do heavy weights , you will not get big unless you are eating way above your calorie needs and are genetically gifted!

  • I totally agree with that. I lift around 20lb as well if not at least 10lb. The whoel point of using weights is to tone ur bod besides more muscle u have the better ur metabolic rate to burn fat. Besides females do not have testosterone which causes them to get BIG! So it's alright to use heavier weights.
