Ok, after watching it a few times (after I know what you did), I see very slight changes on the table, but not noticeable at all when just watching it casually. Did you light the scene or use natural lighting? Also, was this in the day or night and was any natural light introduced via a window or anything? Sorry for all the questions. ;-p

i keep getting questions on how to pass the pics. The easiest way to do it is by creating a mask using the pin tool (AE) or use a garbage mask (final cut pro). You do have to use key frames to move your mask around an to have control of your frame. both shot have to be timed just right an the first shot has to be were they lay the object down (key: don't move these objects) then shoot your second shot an they can move the object at this point. Soon I will have a tutorial on how with steps.

You can use Final Cut Pro or After Effects. I FCP, but you have more control with your mask in After Effects. I shot the girl on the right first. So when she put the pictures on the table I left them there and had her move to the left side, which was shot two.

Anyone can do this. As long as you have a camera and a type of editing program. I will say they are not twins but only one person. You don't have to do a basic split screen to do this. A tip is to have a script if you are using lines and your shot that you want to use. This effect does take two shots and the timing needs to be down to the millisecond for best result. the opacity on one of them, so you can line everything up perfect (perfect is one of the keys). Keep the opacity down and start your first mask. Make sure you have enough points on mask line. Add key frames so you can move your mask points later. If none of this makes sense then just let me know and I will create a tutorial on how to, just let me know what program you want to use.

Once both shots where time and blocked everything can come together when editing. One of the main key is that when you shot the second shot (left) and they miss there line after picking up the photos, you have to start all over again to ensure that the photos stay in the same spot. When editing you can use Adobe After Effects (which is easier to use the masking effect, or use Final Cut Pro (which is what I used). You over lap both shots (make sure they both match perfect) so you can turn down-

Everything was done in two shots. First, I made up a little script so all the audio would be easier to edit. Next, I had to block everything out (including the photos). I had to shot my girlfriend (right) first, so when she places the photos on the table we could just leave it there. When I was shooting it I had to time out every time she started and ended her sentence, so this way the next shot (left) I can point at her when she needed to say her line. This way everything can be done right.

no they are not the same people, I used Final Cut Pro to edit it. I shot it twice, not moving the the camera a mm. I did about five run through before all the timing came out right. The whole test was to see if I could do a split screen and have them interact by passing pictures back and forth. THe girl on the right lays the pics on the table, after I shot girl on left picking up the pics, just timing the dialogue. I wish they were the same girl they would be damn hot.
